The mantis abductors often claim to have the ability to transcend time. In one alleged encounter a mantis claimed he was around when our solar system was created.

What I find more interesting, however, is the people who claim to have encountered them who say they emanate an intense and overwhelming aura of love. They describe a euphoric feeling of well-being when around the creatures and often do not want to leave their presence.

If the mantis aliens are giving off this aura of love, why are they abducting humans and performing experiments on them. I have a hard time wrapping my head around their “love kindness.”

I've always considered, That a being capable of traveling in those crafts would have technology that would probably allow them to look like whatever they wanted us to see. I'm not saying there is just one verity of Alien. But I am suggesting that if there were just one kind visiting us, We may never come to that realization because I fully believe any species capable of technology like that, could appear to us as anything they wanted us to see, Even other humans possibly.

Good question. It may just be a hypnotic tool they use to control us.

It often seems that the more we learn about the universe around us, the more we realize how little we know. It may be surprisingly easy to change one's appearance in what now appears to be perhaps a holographic universe.

Or, for that matter, why are they mutilating our farm animals and dropping their carcasses, almost as if to flaunt their power.

It could be simpler than that, Or more complicated depending on how one looks at it. Classicly, Not in every Abduction case but in many, if not the majority, The entities have displayed an ability to control people via various methods, They can seemingly alter and even block or cover memories with fabricated events, Many times people won't recall their entire experience fully until hypnosis occurs. My assumption is, they have a technology or an acute ability to deceive our very senses.

I believe we are interconnected with other civilizations (interdimensionally perhaps?) in ways we cannot begin to imagine. Jim Sparks, the outspoken abductee, for instance, claims Earth interpenetrates other civilizations we cannot yet detect. This familiarity enables them to control and dominate us.

That may be some kind of scent or aroma the creatures are emitting causing that euphoric sense of peace and love in order to make the human comply with their wishes or it could be a telepathic thing to keep the abductees from resisting...

Here's a couple incidents, one from one of Linda Howe's books, on experiences with mantis creatures:
Linda Porter claimed to have had an incredible encounter with a telepathic mantis-like humanoid in a hallway in 1961 and that it had whisked her off to another dimension via what she called an “interdimensional tunnel.” The next thing she knew, Porter was with a “Praying mantis being in a light-filled room,” and she said:

Linda Porter claimed that she had had her soul transferred by the creature into a cloned body of herself that was healthy, and that the creature had explained to her in depth about other dimensions and travel between them.

And in another account there was a witness who says that her and her friend had been captured by tall, insectoid humanoids and then been subjected to some sort of violent, gruesome medical procedure. She said:

One very odd report that has made the rounds was given on UFO BC, by a witness calling himself “Jim G,” who lives in London, England. He claims that one evening in August of 2001 he woke to find two of these entities looming over his bed, apparently watching him as he slept, and they looked very much like some sort of insectoid humanoids. One entity was cloaked in a robe, but had what seemed to be a shiny black exoskeleton like that of a beetle, while the other was more of the classic description of a Mantis Alien, standing 7 feet tall and all segmented limbs and mantis head, with no noticeable clothing. Jim explains the mantis creature and the weird events that would play out thusly:

Linda Moulton Howe talks a lot about the Linda Porter Case and mantis encounters. I've watched many of her videos and now I want to try some of her books.

Mysterious Mantis-Man Petroglyph Discovered in Iran

A rare rock carving discovered in Iran depicts what looks like a six-legged mantis-man because it has long, oddly-bent arms and legs and a triangular head like a praying mantis. On the other hand – which it doesn’t seem to have – some experts think it’s a depiction of a Squatter Man, which is not rare but one of the most common petroglyphs in the world. You’ve never heard of the Squatter Man? Let’s find out about both of these strange creatures.

“A 14-cm motif of a six-legged creature with raptorial forearms was discovered in the Teymareh rock art site in central Iran (Markazi Province) during a 2017 and 2018 survey of petroglyphs or prehistoric stone engravings.”

Did we forget to mention the “raptorial forearms? This creature gets creepier by the minute, which is why entomologists Mahmood Kolnegari, Islamic Azad University of Arak, Iran; Mandana Hazrati, Avaye Dornaye Khakestari Institute, Iran; and Matan Shelomi, National Taiwan University were brought in to help archaeologist and rock art expert Mohammad Naserifard attempt to identify the petroglyph. Their findings are published in the open access Journal of Orthoptera Research and they read like a special effects shopping list for a Jurassic Park movie. (Photos of the petroglyph can be seen here.)

Depiction of a Colombian mantis man petroglyph

The earliest known rock art petroglyphs in Iran are in the central-west area of Teymareh and date back 7000 years ago, although the range may be much wider. This particular one stuck the initial discoverers as resembling a “Empusa hedenborgii” mantid native to this region that has an odd-shaped head like the carving. Mantids are mystical insects in many cultures and the upper arms and lower legs should close the deal on the identity … but then there’s those round things on the ends of the middle arms/legs.

“The closest parallel to this in archaeology is the ‘Squatter Man,’ a petroglyph figure found around the world depicting a person flanked by circles.”

The press release on the paper suggests this is just another form of a Squatter Man or Squatting Man petroglyph – which has been drawn by virtually all ancient cultures around the world. Figure is usually a stick man with the normal number of arms and legs and it definitely looks to be squatting. Because of that, the researchers eventually began referring to the Iranian figure as a Squatting Mantis Man. While humans are known to squat for a wide variety of reasons, it’s a mystery why Squatting Man or Squatting Mantis Man does it.

“The symbol is named “squatter man” (“squatting man”), and some archaeologists believe that the motif is associated with aurora phenomenon due to plasma discharge, specifically a “Z-pinch instability.”

Well, certain forms of discharging require squatting, but a plasma discharge? What they’re referring to is an atmospheric pressure glow discharge – an electrical ionized gas formation, the best known of which are the aurora borealis and aurora australis. It’s possible that this particular physical form of plasma discharge is long-lasting, allowing ancient cultures to observe them, fear them and draw them. In fact, if there was a period when these were frequent and widespread, it could explain why so many cultures drew them on walls at about the same time.

Can you see a mantis man in there somewhere?

The authors of the paper like the Squatting Mantis Man idea better. The large insects — with their ability to fly, prey on other large bugs and still look they’re praying for them – generated the kind of fascination that would draw them to drawing them. And, since they somewhat resemble humans, considering them to be some sort of hybrid is not all that far-fetched.
