How high taxes, rampant crime, streets littered with addicts are blamed for ruining the Golden State

(Excerpt)

For the first time in a glorious 171-year history that attracted thousands seeking fortunes during the 19th Century Gold Rush, gave birth to the global movie industry and unleashed the digital revolution, California has seen its population – currently just under 40 million – decline.

It shrank by 182,083 last year – equivalent to all the citizens living in the coastal idylls of Santa Monica and Santa Barbara combined.

Families and firms are being driven away by the high cost of living, crime fears, hefty taxes, inadequate housing, interfering officials, persistent political failures, red tape, raging wildfires and the squalor of streets littered with homeless drug addicts.

.
unfortunately a lot of those moved to New Mexico in the 80's and now they are moving to Texas. At least they can get jobs in Texas. And the movie industry is being encouraged to move to Albuquerque and places in the south. It is the only industry that can get tax breaks in New Mexico.

This is the maximum age humans can physically reach, scientists say

This is the maximum age humans can physically reach, scientists say

Scientists have identified the maximum lifespan a human can hope to reach is 150-years-old, according to a new study.

Researchers at Gero, a biotech company based in Singapore, working in collaboration with Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Centre in Buffalo, New York, studied medical data from volunteers in the UK and US to arrive at the figure.

The group used AI (Artificial Intelligence) to analyse the health and fitness information provided by volunteers and blood samples to conclude that a person’s lifespan is dependent on two points: biological age and resilience.

Biological age is a calculation associated with lifestyle, stress and chronic diseases, rather than your actual age, while resilience relates to the speed at which a person returns to good health after responding to a stressor.

Their findings, which were published on Tuesday in the journal Nature Communications, showed that between the ages of 120 and 150 years old, humans display “a complete loss” of resilience that equates to an inability to recover.

Professor Andrei Gudkov, vice-president and chair of department of cell stress biology at Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Centre, called the study “a conceptual breakthrough” which determines and separates the roles of fundamental factors in human life.

“It explains why even the most effective prevention and treatment of age-related diseases could only improve the average, but not the maximal, lifespan, unless true anti-aging therapies have been developed,” he said.

Professor David Sinclair of Harvard Medical School’s genetics department, added: “The investigation shows that recovery rate is an important signature of aging that can guide the development of drugs to slow the process and extend health-span.”

French woman Jeanne Calment, who died at the age of 122 in 1997, was the oldest person to live whose age was independently verified.

And in 2016, Emma Morano - then the world’s oldest living person – attributed her long life to eating two eggs a day.

Morano, from Lake Maggiore in Northern Italy, said: “I eat two eggs a day, and that's it. And cookies. But I do not eat much because I have no teeth.”

Harris' punchlines bomb at Naval Academy graduation

It was an energizing speech. Vice President Kamala Harris made a joke about green electricity during her commencement speech at the U.S. Naval Academy in Annapolis Friday.

"Just ask any Marine today, would she rather carry 20 pounds of batteries or a rolled up solar panel, and I am positive she will tell you a solar panel, and so would he," she said, before laughing.

Video shows the crowd’s reaction.

It came after she told electrical engineering graduates that they would be responsible for converting wind and solar energy into "combat power."

"You are electrical engineers who will soon help convert solar and wind energy into power, convert solar and wind energy into combat power," she said.

Critics on Twitter were quick to note that solar panels generally still require batteries to store energy as it’s collected from sunlight.

Harris’ speech also touched on cybersecurity, the coronavirus pandemic and climate change. She warned that cybercrimes like the recent Colonial Pipeline ransomware attack could present a new frontier in international conflicts.

"Just think, a deadly pandemic can spread throughout the globe in just a matter of months," she said. "A gang of hackers can disrupt the fuel supply of a whole seaboard. One country's carbon emissions can threaten the sustainability of the whole Earth." She also became the first woman to deliver the keynote commencement address at a Navy Academy ceremony.

Servicemen and women currently rely on high-tech lithium-ion batteries to power weapons, sensors and other devices during night operations.

'Creepy Joe' strikes again: President Biden is slammed for singling out 'elementary school-aged' girl during speech and saying 'she looks like she's 19 years old'

Joe Biden has been slammed for 'creepy' remarks he made about a young girl during a speech at a Virginia military base on Friday.

The Commander-in-chief, 78, went off-script to point out the 'elementary school- aged' girl as he delivered an address at Joint Base Langley-Eustis ahead of Memorial Day.

'I love those barrettes in your hair, man,' the President said to the girl, who was sitting at the side of the stage

'I tell you what, look at her, she looks like she's 19 years old, sitting there like a little lady with her legs crossed,' Biden bizarrely continued.

The girl's mother had reportedly introduced Biden to the stage prior to his speech. Her full name and aged have not been publicly released.

Footage of Biden's odd remarks was shared to The Post Millennial's Twitter page, with many users perturbed by what they heard.

'Your president people... there is a reason they don't let him talk in front of cameras often..' one stated.

Another cyberattack now shutting down the largest meat processing company in the world...

JBS cyberattack shuts down all of its US beef plants

A cyberattack has forced the world’s largest meat producer to shut down all of its U.S. beef plants, according to a report Tuesday.

Brazil-based JBS has shuttered all of its U.S. fed-beef and regional beef plants while responding to the incident, Bloomberg reported, citing an official from United Food and Commercial Workers (UFCW) International Union. Other U.S.-based JBS meatpacking facilities are also experiencing service interruptions.

The plants produce nearly one-quarter of U.S. beef supplies. JBS employs more than 66,000 workers across 84 US-based locations.

The attack raised concerns of a potential meat shortage in the U.S. and several other countries impacted by the situation. It wasn’t immediately clear how the shutdown would impact meat prices.

Crickets, no condemnation from our government, are there even investigations taking place, we don't know because our government isn't saying anything...We've had two foreign cyberattacks on American industries now, how many more before the federal government takes action?...

I suspect environmentalists. Two of the most damaging to the environment - Brazilian beef is destroying the rain forests and an oil pipeline. Really, what terrorists would choose those two specifically if they weren't environmentalists? Maybe an investigation into how those two companies are linked would present an answer. Since it is corporations being targeted maybe it has nothing to do with politics, who are their competitors? There are a lot of reasons our government may not be broadcasting any investigation that is being done, and other reasons they would not do the investigation. And, honestly, if it is purely corporate our government does not need to waste the time and money, they will get nowhere.

DARK MONEY REWARDED

Liberal groups, led by Arabella Advisors, spent a record amount of dark money to elect President Joe Biden—and immediately he started rewarding these groups. Top operatives who ran dark money groups are now working in the White House and the extremist groups that got him elected are already seeing their policy wish list take effect. It’s only the beginning of dark money running the Biden administration.
