(NewsNation) — Nick Pope, a retired UFO investigator with the U.K. Ministry of Defense, has died.
One of the most prominent voices on all things UFOs, Pope’s work on aerial phenomena at Britain’s Ministry of Defense led to him being known as the real-life Fox Mulder, the lead character in the hit show “The X-Files.”
In one of his last emails to NewsNation producers, Pope said he’d be spending his remaining days with “plenty of laughter… watching various British comedy shows” with his beloved wife, Elizabeth Weiss.

Weiss announced Pope’s death in a post to X on Monday: “My heart is breaking — Nick passed away this afternoon at our home,” she wrote.

“The last few weeks of his life, even as he suffered, he managed to do a few interviews from home. I was so lucky to have met and to have married Nick. He was a wonderful husband. I loved him dearly,” she added.
Pope’s death has led to an outpouring of tributes throughout the UFO and space community, including from NewsNation special correspondent and investigative journalist Ross Coulthart.

“Terribly sad to hear of Nick Pope’s passing. Nick was a kind and intelligent person who threw his every ounce of energy into informing the world about the UAP secrets to which he was a witness. Vale Nick,” Coulthart wrote.
 
Very sorry to read that. He always struck me as someone who was a believer but always stayed grounded and didn't sensationalize.
 

UFO researcher and writer David Wilcock has died, aged 53​

Born in New York in 1973, Wilcock was said to have first developed a keen interest in the unexplained back in the early 90s when he heard about the idea that the US government was in possession of alien technology that had been retrieved from UFO crash sites. He would soon become a prominent figure in the disclosure movement, while also being regarded as a prominent spiritual figure who some believed was the reincarnation of clairvoyant Edgar Cayce.

Wilcock was also interested in prophecies concerning the year 2012 and wrote the book The Source Field Investigations: The Hidden Science and Lost Civilizations Behind the 2012 Prophecies. In the mid-2010s, he co-hosted a show called Cosmic Disclosures, then in 2018 created the film Above Majestic which looked into the possibility of Reptilian aliens living in Antarctica. This was followed by The Cosmic Secret, which looked at the origins of humanity and the mysteries of existence.

Wilcock also ran his own YouTube channel for many years and made multiple appearances on the TV show Ancient Aliens.

Sadly, his life came to an abrupt end when police officers were called out to his home on April 20th to attend what was described as a 'mental health crisis'. It resulted in Wilcock turning a firearm on himself.

He was 53.
