This would be a UFO with occupants sighting if it happened in 20th century. I love the flickering light as if some kind of projection.

MYSTERIOUS AIRSHIP.

Following on the report received from New Zealand about a mysterious airship seen at night, a correspondent sends this from Shag River: I am writing to let you know that New Zealand is not the only place that been favored with a sight of the mysterious light in the sky, tor on July 24, at 10:18pm as some men were walking on the main road. Shag River, they saw what appeared to be an illuminated boat steaming up the harbor, but after looking for a while they found thai il was not on the water, but in the sky. One of them was much alarmed, and hurried -home, where he found the people In such excitement on account of seeing the same sight. They, being on the heights bad seen it apparently 'rise from (?) Island high into the sky, where it remained, descending for a short distance, then ascending, and goiug from right to left, following, as it were, the sign of a cross. (back and forth up and down, AGAIN) They watched it, thinking it would disappear after while, but they left it in the some place at 2 a.m. 0n Sunday, when they retired. We have been watching the papers for an account of someone having seen the phenomenon (as we think), and have asked several abound here, but no one seems to know anything about it. Now we have seen it reported from New Zealand, and described exactly."
