Fortunately the spillway haven't come pletely collapsed yet, although it seems bound to happen sometime soon...The 12 years of ignorance seems suspicious, and how many other large structures built up the US are being treated in a similar way?...

I saw an article today saying there's 56,000 deficient bridges in the country. I caught a story on the news the other day saying everything is about 100 years old including underground plumbing. I think they estimated it would take an astronomical dollar figure to get Chicago's infrastructure up to date. In a lot of cases it would be cheaper to just abandon cities.
