On the most recent episode of Podcast UFO, Martin Willis interviews Chris Lambright. He spends most of the time talking about what happened to Paul Bennewitz, and gives a good rundown of what happened to him. Also mentioned is the fact that Richard Doty was apparently talking to William Moore about MJ-12 before the Majestic documents were received by Jamie Shandera. This lends credence to my theory that the documents were in fact created by AFOSI.
