That’s actually the head of the slain Swedish king Karl XII, killed in 1718 by an unknown projectile while leading his troops during a siege in Norway. This photo was taken during a 1917 autopsy.

.
Well, various types of firearms were around then. But who fired the shot? An 1859 exhumation found that the wound was in accordance with a shot from the Norwegian fort, but how trustworthy is that assessment?

The Sassi di Matera in Italy were inhabited as early as the year 7000 BC. It's even been alleged that Matera is the only place in the world where people can boast to be still living in the same houses of their ancestors 9,000 years ago.

In India, Hitler word is synonym to a person who is very strict and authoritative. But it does seem rather unlikely to be coincidental that there’s the name ‘Hitler’, and a swastika, and a red-white-grey colour scheme.

There is a tribe found in Zimbabwe called Vadoma, they carry a genetic defect in which they only have two toes, commonly called "Ostrich Claws". They use their feet to their advantage to easily climb trees and gather food. They do not see this as a genetic defect but rather treat is as a blessing.

A Bengali fellow I worked with for a time once proudly told me that Hitler had said that Bengali's are very intelligent. I advised him not to spread that information around in America because Hitler had a bad reputation. But he didn't agree with me; he still thought it was a good thing to be praised by Hitler.

If this means they won't kill off the civets, I say, Bravo! Enjoy the coffee!

When you put a banknote in the photocopier, it will refuse to scan or print it. Instead, an error message will pop up. No matter which way you fold the banknote or crumple it, the printer will still refuse to scan the money. This is because the printer has detected that you are trying to copy currency. And if you override it this is the result.

When Tootsie Rolls Saved US Marines
126958-01_tootsie-rolls-midgees-candy-30lb-case.jpg
[Stolen once again from Quora.]
"During the Battle of the Chosin Resevoir during Korea. The Marines were outnumbered and short on everything. Most of their vehicles were disabled for various reasons. They were critically short on ammunition and mortar rounds. They of course used code words for everything when they requested resupplies. The code word they were using for mortar rounds was Tootsie Roll. Obviously the man on the other end of the resupply request had no idea about the code. They had to airdrop the supplies. When the Marines on the ground opened the crates they saw that instead of mortar shells they got actual Tootsie Rolls. They were in total disbelief. One of the vehicle maintenance men realized they could use the candy to save themselves. They unwrapped the rolls and used the candy to plug holes in gas tanks and radiators and whatever else necessary. They repaired all but a few vehicles and used them to withdraw to safety. Without that mistake more than likely the Marines would have been overrun. A few of the actual Tootsie Rolls are on display in the Marine Corps museum in Quantico Virginia."

She sailed on her maiden voyage and about 10 min into it a gust of wind made her heel over to port. Only the swift action of the crew saved her. But less then 5 min later a second gust of wind sent water into the lower cannon deck. Vasa sank quickly with the loss of 33 crew. In 1961 she was raised restored and put on display the best preserved ship of her day

Possibly the most elite of all credit cards.
jp-morgan-reserve.jpg
The J.P. Morgan Reserve Card®, formerly known as the Palladium Card, is a Visa credit card issued by JPMorgan Chase. This card is in a category of ultra exclusive, invitation-only credit and charge cards. With its 23-karat gold construction and palladium plating, the card weighs 1 ounce or 28.35 grams, five times the weight of a conventional plastic credit card and twice the weight of the titanium constructed American Express Centurion Card. The value of the materials used to construct the card is $1,000. It is one of the most exclusive credit cards in the world, and reserved for the most important private clients of JPMorgan Chase.

JPMorgan Chase clients who are invited to carry this card must have a minimum of US$10 million in assets under management with J.P. Morgan Private Bank, and have a median of US$100 million with the bank. There are only 5,000 Palladium card holders worldwide.

Here’s the thing, despite its exclusivity, the card itself doesn't offer any special benefits beyond the novelty of being made out of a rare chemical element, palladium. Thus it is essentially just a status symbol!
