I watched a movie called Out of Blue a while back that was really good. I just watched a really stupid movie two nights ago called Yes Day. I was in the mood for some fluff and that is what that movie was.

I'm about to start watching. I actually like the previously released film, but I'm curious about this one.

The other film was okay, however this one is much more complete and explains a lot the other film did not and the battle scenes are much better and thorough...I guess with 4 hours much more is possible lol...

It was OK. I would have preferred that it was shorter than 4 hours.
Unfortunately, I couldn't track which scenes had been added or extended from the other version.

One thing I did love was the look of DaSaad!

Does the film ending mean that Snyder will be doing a sequel featuring Darkseid as the big bad?

I hope so however I also don't expect it to be an 4 hour movie but you never know lol...

I liked the battle scenes much better than the first take...Also the Flash wasn't such a wimp in Zack Snyders version...

My 13 year old boy loves Milla Jovovich. His first celebrity crush.
This movie follows the mold of many of her past movies. Featuring her as a bada** female hero. It retains many of her tropes and it's not a bad movie.
It is a cookie cutter movie based off a so so video game.
I close with Ian's assessment:" Milla Jovovich is hot she kicks a** and takes names!"
    Me: 4/10
    Ian: 10/10

My son was asked to view the 1920 movie "The shiek" with roudoph Valentino. His teacher asked Rikki and I to view the movie with him to answer questions about the films content. I also asked the twins to view it because in the 20s girls their age went nuts over him.
The film is a product of it's time.
Woman sold as brides. Submition and even rape. The twins found Valentino to be "handsome but belongs in jail."
My son was a little lost as it was a silent films and "Hard to follow"
The shiek is a classic..and a product of it's time.. 100 years after the movie was released it's hard to understand the power Valentino had over women. Times change..
    Me 6/10
    Ian 4/10
    The twins 2/10

To this day, I'm not sure I've ever watched a silent film in its entirety.
I have to be in the right mood just to watch black and white, but silent is far beyond that.

Interesting to note that the film's content was toned down from its source material. From Wikipedia
"The film was based on Edith Maude Hull's best selling novel The Sheik. The novel became a best seller partly because of its controversial dealings with racial miscegenation and rape. Due to the controversial subject matter, certain aspects of the novel were left out of the film. In the novel, Sheik Ahmed rapes Lady Diana. George Melford said, "We have handled the frank scenes in 'The Sheik' so delicately that I think the censors will be the only disappointed reviewers."

I watched this movie and thought it could have been written better, the action scenes of the monsters was fairly good, and the big final battle was really good...There were many parts of the movie where I got bored and found myself on my tablet side tracked until more entertaining scenes came up in the movie...5/10

I enjoyed this movie, it has a nice story build up to a huge climax, the cgi is great, there were some slow parts they could have trimmed some of that out but overall an entertaining super hero movie...7/10
