Excellent movie ! The book was good and the movie is a very close adaptation although there are a few inconsistencies made for dramatic effect, nothing that interferes with the story. It's a bit long but worth it, there are a few clever twists.

Another Bob Odenkirk vehicle - which is fine by me because I really liked him in Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul. This was written by the same man who created John Wick and Nobody and apart from being extremely violent and bloody (and familiar) it has a certain dark humor to it that I get a kick out of. It has several familiar faces in it.

I wouldn't call it good but we enjoyed it last night. Not all meals have to be gourmet, right?

The fist red flag was we saw long lines for toy story 5 and no one for Supergirl.

The 2nd was the half empty theater..the movie was not good. A terrible mismatched jumbled mess. To give an idea the movie starts with Supergirl in a bar. She is drunk.
It's implied that she is looking for a man for the night.
She is the last survivor of argo City. She wollows in guilt and self hate. She can care less for anyone. And that's just the start.
There is a blink and you miss it moment where they play up the fan theory that Supergirl and Batgirl are a thing.
The best part of Supergirl? Kyoto the CGI dog.
I spent money so you don't have to.
Avoid this mess.

This was apparently banned, or prevented from release in Germany which probably served to increase interest. In short, it's really bad. Pointless scenes, poor continuity, technical inaccuracy and insipid dialogue.

That said, it's very current and anti-immigrant. Basically this is Death Wish in 2026 minus any talent or writing of any kind. Oh, and the basic message if you strip away the anti-immigrant stuff is no different than Dirty Harry and that was 1971.

Part of being the den mother for a troop of 10 girl scouts is going to see fun kids movies.
This is not fun.vthere is no joy in this movie. The kids get restless and disinterested. This a live action movie that is scene for scene line by line word for word a copy of the cartoon. It is soulless without heart. Even the poster is a copy. It's a cash grab.
With no good reason to exist
After a trip to Dave and busters helped restore the mood.
Me :0/10

Avoid this mess. It was the worst movie ever!
Blessed be

EPIC! But flawed!

The cinematography and score does the epic justice. The immersion is real and 70mm IMAX puts the viewers a world only this format can provide. Not 10/10 - the writing at times seems too modern but this break in immersion goes away quickly. Tom Holland had his moments but I think fell short on the screen next to Anne Hathaway . It is entertaining beginning to end regardless. Truly a pleasure to watch.
