Reincarnation

Dundee

Fading day by day.
I read somewhere (I forget the book) that rebirth as distinct from reincarnation can be summed up like this.
Imagine a huge pool of water, that represents the collective conciseness that is reality. Everything, everyone all part of the one.
Every so often someone throws a pebble in the pond and it s ripples travel out across the pond. That is rebirth. Thatis our earthly life for this birth, Then our body dies, and we return to the whole. Then at some point another pebble is thrown and that is another rebirth. (NOT reincarnation). The ripples move out as before eventual disappearing back into the collective pool. That is the cycle of rebirth.
It is what makes sense to me at least.

life is predestined, are destined for an upload of data and its nothing one can say or dwell on when it comes to the past because no matter what path you didn't take or could have taken...it wouldn't have made a difference because your upload had no other choice to make ..for you have always been on the path that you were programmed to take.

The moral of this is, change your ways.Your god has given you the ultimate gift of life and reliving your life once again, to see what went wrong and how you can change for the better, yes your the walking dead but at least you don't have a craving for brains.

I suppose it stands to reason that God moves along with the times and current trends...

There was a time when God sent souls to either Heaven or Hell, but now offers recycling in the form of Reincarnation...

Sort of a bit like my new weekly recycling garbage collection only a bit more up market and not as smelly...

my dear sister is a vegan. full bore. when she visits with us we go out of our way to feed her the foodstuffs she 'only' eats. when we visit with her however she would rather die than put some ribs on the bbq. i've often asked her if she hears the screaming of a carrot when it gets yanked by the hair out of the ground. she is not impressed. she is a doctor, a behaviour psychologist in this life. mefigures past life she must have been an edible animal.

Then there's this senario... Old Uncle Harry and his old dog Shep come to grief and are buried in a nice plot together... In memorial, an apple tree is planted over them...

Now the apple tree, like all other plants is not vegetarian and thrives from sucking up from the ground, any organic material from both rotting plant and rotting animal matter, (like fish slurry, by products like blood and bone from the meat industry, animal and insect poop, dead worms, dead insects and so on including old Uncle Harry and old dog Shep).

A number of years down the track, long after old Uncle Harry and old dog Shep have been used up (by both plants and ground insects and worms and the remainder turned into soil), the apple tree has grown it's first batch of healthy looking crispy red apples....

Along come some people and pick those apples and eat them... Yummy, nice apples..... all the while never being aware that they are consuming bits and pieces of old Uncle Harry and his old dog Shep but in another form, namely in this case, transformed into apples...

The Circle of Life....

Quite right, the recycle bin isn't as mucky and smelly as the trash bin, why burn what you can recycle eh?...

I was made a believer of reincarnation when i had a NDE at 8 years old. i think only certain ones are able too. ghost are the unforgivable, or not knowing their dead. than there is the ones that to go to hell, and than the ones that accomplish though out their many lives and go to heaven.something like that...

Similar to reincarnation is something I mentioned earlier in the thread, reoccurance...Ive read much about this concept, which is reincarnation but one comes back to the same human life, at least in the beginning, born to the same era, essentially reliving one's life although I'm sure that person's reoccurred life doesn't have the same outcome as before or maybe it does...Any thoughts on this?...

You meaning this... 'Eternal return (also known as 'eternal recurrence') is a concept that the Universe and all existence and energy has been recurring and will continue to recur, in a self similar form an infinite number of times across infinite time or space.'

The endless cycle of birth, life, and death from which one seeks liberation.....

Found in early Indian philosophy and in ancient Egypt, then taken up by the Pythagoreans... and subsquently killed off by the changing times as well as the advent of Christianity. Other than Friedrich Nietzsche (1844-1900) who was right into it and created an extensive theory about it...

Sir Thomas Browne (1605-1682) who was into the esoteric as well as science, medicine and religion and the who also wrote about Hermetic wisdom, in his book The Garden of Cyrus alludes to such a concept:

All things began in order, so shall they end, and so shall they begin again.

Human ghostly parasites in spirit form wandering around looking for a body to use as a host just so as to be able to live through the same emotional crap and bullshit over and over again for all eternity never finding a way out the nightmare unless of course, one day it all blows up and ends...

I have heard and read about that concept but there's another theory I'm more familiar with, that of returning go the same life, at least in the beginning, as the individual may not take that life in the exact same way as before...But this return is contingent upon something...This concept is that a soul goes into a life with a plan, a goal and returns to that life over and over untilvthat goal is achieved...

Friedrich Nietzsche (1844-1900) who was right into it and created an extensive theory about it...

I ought to read some writings of his on this theory, I know the gist of it, but little of the particulars...

"This life as you now live it and have lived it, you will have to live once more and innumerable times more; and there will be nothing new in it, but every pain and every joy and every thought and sigh and everything unutterably small or great in your life will have to return to you, all in the same succession and sequence - even this spider and this moonlight between the trees, and even this moment and I myself. The eternal hourglass of existence is turned upside down again and again, and you with it, speck of dust!"

from Nietzsche's The Gay Science, s.341, Walter Kaufmann translation

Rodney Collin wrote a book I read once called Theory of Eternal Life...Blended within that theory is the need to develop oneself and take control of one's higher bodies to leave this cycle...

'rodney collins'. a follower of gurdjieff's teachings and a pupil of ouspensky. started his own group on ouspenky's direction to do so, after gurdjieff died. his 'theory of celestial influence' was interesting but rather atedious read. still.

You know what nivek... After reading the intro of the link you sent, I'm going to pass on reading that book...

'The Theory of Eternal Life by Rodney Collin absorbs the teaching and the wisdom of great mythological, religious, and spiritual sources into a coherent and complete framework on what is uniquely possible when consciousness comes into human form.'

Over the years, since the age of about 15 I've read so many books, listened many a wise word, aquired so much knowledge, have transformed, twisted, chanted, taken up yoga nidra, tried all sorts of different faiths (in retrospect, some were hilarious and fun at the time) and meditated myself to such a degree that there comes a time when more is gained from simple pleasures....

..... like watching a spider watching me and every movement I make while it weaves it's web from start to finish or spending hours watching a cicada breaking free from its larva shell and unfurling its wings as an adult insect.....

..... if you watch the grass long enough you will see it grow...

True words, and whilst watching the grass grow if one becomes the grass, then one is 'seeing' the grass objectively...

The book link is just to source my reference of information...:)

Whitley Strieber has a unique take on reincarnation, he believes it is intimately tied to the whole question of UFOs and aliens. His books Solving the Communion Enigma: What is to Come and Supernatural: A New Vision of the Unexplained lay it out quite nicely. I still haven't made up my mind about him but he does offer an interesting alternative to the usual aliens from other planets visiting Earth narrative.

On the topic of reincarnation, I must say as I get older I wonder more and more about it. I keep finding myself thinking about something which I call (for lack of a better term) "an Island of Stability". The Island is sort of my true cosmos or existence, a time, place, and set of circumstances where I am supposed to be. Once I am there, I never leave. All my life I have felt like I don't quite belong here at this time and place, maybe this is caused by a bit of gnosis about past lives and where I am going.

John Lear claims the earth was established as a "nursery" for souls to develop and and go through the death and rebirth cycles as much as necessary. He says the main reason aliens are here is to grow the souls. Once we reach a higher level we will be reincarnated on a better planet where life is like paradise. I think a lot of what Lear says is BS but he has some interesting ideas from time to time.

I've read in reports from Italy from information gathered through hypnotic regression therapy that some aliens are here to try to harvest souls for their own uses but have not achieved this yet...

We are NOT limited to Earth when we decide to return to physical life again.
Don't ask me how...but I know but I have not only lived past lives on other worlds but many of those worlds were not in our universe. The laws of physics as we know them here in some were very different.
Sometimes for someone to obtain the best lessen or needed experience in a life a different world will offer it better over another.

IMHO

I've always heard that we tend to stay in groups when we move on to other lives. Even when we go to other planets/universes, wouldn't we bring some of our friends and relatives from this incarnation with us?
