Remove Star Wars Episode VIII from Official Canon

Seems some distraught fans think this new movie is horrible enough they are petitioning to have it removed from the official cannon...ugh

Have Disney strike Star Wars Episode VIII from the official canon

Star Wars has long been a story about two things, the Jedi and Luke Skywalker. After over 260 novels where we could follow the adventures of that great hero you, the Walt Disney Company decided to strike all of that from the official canon and wiped out three decades of lore. We were excited to see Episode VII to see how our heroes lives turned out since you took away what we knew. We saw the death of Han Solo, we saw less than a minute of Luke Skywalker.

Episode VIII was a travesty. It completely destroyed the legacy of Luke Skywalker and the Jedi. It destroyed the very reasons most of us, as fans, liked Star Wars. This can be fixed. Just as you wiped out 30 years of stories, we ask you to wipe out one more, the Last Jedi. Remove it from canon, push back Episode IX and re-make Episode VIII properly to redeem Luke Skywalker's legacy, integrity, and character.

We stuck by you when you did things that hurt us before, so we ask you now, please don't let this film stand. Don't do this to us. Don't take something so many of us loved so much and destroy it like this. Let us keep our heroes.

Stupid, stupid, stupid. People are just mad that their predictions didnt come true and Luke wasnt "badass" enough even though he did the most powerful thing that any Jedi or Sith has ever done. People don't want story telling in movies anymore they just want two and a half hours of action, with no story telling.

Why did Disney clear out all the other stories from offical cannon?...Did the story get too complicated and confusing?...

I just think of episode 7 and 8 as fan movies. The real SW ended for me when the Rebellion defeated the Empire and Luke revived the Jedi order. Happy end! :) Clone Wars was really good, I love the clone era.

As for this drama, well...there would be haters if George Lucas himself created episode 7 and 8. Right?

Luke never revived the Jedi order in the originals. He became the last Jedi. Even Yoda knew on his death bed that the Jedi order was no more. Luke attempted to revive the Jedi order, but obviously failed. He turned into a recluse, similar to Obi-wan. Haunted by his failures. I found this much for entertaining because it gave Luke humility and not just some mindless badass. It made him actually feel human and like a Jedi. He had to kill his ol' man after all. Jedi or not that will haunt you forever.

What Luke did do was convince Vader to turn back to the light and forfil the prophecy. But the Empire was never defeated. The Empire spanned the entire galaxy, not just with the death star. It was only a matter of time before a force user (snoke) came along and manipulated the masses into creating The New Order.

Also, George did create 7 and 8. Much of what is in the movie is material he wrote. He wrote 1 to 9 when he was in college. Kathleen Kennedy said she wanted to use his material. Disney just touched up his story a bit.

Because those books were fan fiction and never canon. So many different stories for the same time periods.

Well, nothing was lost,
in the fire, Yoda said so but if you noticed in the millennium falcon, she had the texts...

That's because she became the last Jedi.
Yoda felt the turmoil in Luke and was probably afraid he would take the same steps as his father. So Yoda entrusted her with the texts. In a way Luke redeemed himself much like his father before him after his conversation with Yoda.

So this petition is mainly about Luke not being some action packed badass instead he was just being Luke and passed the torch...?

Yes. People didn't like the direction that they took with him. They wanted him to be a badass and just run around destroying things with his lightsaber and the force. Anybody who has seen the originals knew that this wasnt going to be the case. He secluded himself and distanced himself from the Jedi order for a reason. Probably because he felt the darkness growing inside him.

I really enjoyed how they did Luke. Like I said, I really liked how they made him human with real emotions. What he did at the end too was incredibly badass and powerful. That's all I needed. All I needed was to see how powerful he was. He showed that he is the most powerful Jedi ever. Even stronger than Yoda.

I just got back from seeing the new film. Really enjoyed it.

Star Wars will never win any Oscars but doesn't stop my enjoyment.

Few good twists in this one....

I need to watch it again, I missed some stuff towards the end...

At Peace.
I am a huge fan of all the Star Wars movies.
EP 8 was spot on and delivered better than I expected.
That said,
I am not a fan of Jar Jar, nor a fan of Kylo.

Both are equally weak characters and had bad scripting...
Those two characters could have been much more relatable with just a few tweaks.

Kylo was behaving too spoiled in both films, and Jar Jar was too dumb.

I feel like Kylo being spoiled is because he is a Skywalker. He knows he is super powerful so he has that kind of arrogance about him.
