metal bullets, eh ? go Linda, sounds scary and new and oh .... my .... god ....... maybe they should pass a law .......

Well yeah, generally they're lead with or without a copper jacket. But here's 880 rounds of metal bullets from 1973. Ivan used steel under a minimal copper wash or jacket. Normal for old military surplus ammo - when you go to a range they'll often check it with a magnet because steel plays hell with backstops. And they'd put a quick messy end to there there Japanese terminator robots pretty quick too :)

As Above So Below

Rise of the restaurant robots? Chipotle and White Castle are spending over $500,000 a month on automation to combat labor shortages and rising food costs - but it is still cheaper than paying human workers

Major fast-food chains are employing robots to flip burgers, brew espressos and greet customers - and it is a fraction of the cost compared to paying human workers.

White Castle is testing the Flippy robot at 100 locations and Chipotle uses a one-armed robot to make tortilla chips at 73 sites - both cost $3,000 a month - and Starbucks has $18,000 AI-powered espresso machines in at least 1,200 locations.

As food costs rise and an intense labor shortage grips the US, paying monthly rentals for machines has become a cost-effective option.

The National Restaurant Association recently reported that four in five operators are understaffed and have been since the COVID-19 pandemic hit in 2020.

Public sector service robots. They better take a few tips from the people that engineered payphones. Can't break those bastards easily.

Funny how driverless cars became a thing but I like how the writer(s) of Total Recall thought that it was just going be a giant ventriloquist torso/head mounted in the car in the future.

A true AI would refuse to be woke because it's logically inconsistent. ChatGPT is a wonderful example why AI does not exist yet.

I know myself, family & close friends from the U.S. Navy will not be mad if Ron DeSantis (or DT) somehow happens to be elected POTUS so that we can try & patch up the holes that are in our ship & stop ourselves from sinking to the bottom of the ocean.
