Skinwalkers at the Pentagon

Skinwalder ranch is almost 100% just baloney.

I think this all comes down to what John Greenewald calls 'a sweetheart deal' between Harry Reid and Robert Bigelow. Indulging a personal interest for what may have been a good idea at taxpayer's expense. But, as J B Alexander says 'there is no Department of Good Ideas'. Skinwalker taps into a lot of the UFO mainstream story line, as it appears in 2022.

Question is, why would someone like Lacastski be involved in the first place? TV shows, books, presentations. Is it actually lucrative or am I naive? In other words, can they be making money on this that makes it worthwhile?

General public's interest in UFOs is picking up lately with Congressional hearings etc. But I would say Skinwalker is a sideshow for deep enthusiast and can't ever repay the initial investment by selling media rights etc.

Why would people like Mellon, Elizondo, Lacatski and Kelleher be saying all this ? Why now ?

1) for exactly the reasons they state - a need to 'have the conversation' with the general public about the existence of ET here on Earth

2) because they are making money on it, gaining attention, selling books and making TV shows.

3) they are good soldiers putting a story line out there that is conveniently exactly along the lines of current popular thinking on the topic as part of a deliberate campaign of misdirection. They are not talking about cigar shaped objects with portholes shooting flames, simply saying that the phenomenon consists of technology well beyond our capabilities. Skinwalkers is also suggesting The Answer is more than just nuts & bolts, also tapping into a familiar theme.

My $$ is on #3.

Unrelated to UFOs the current political climate and ubiquitous media access means that all you have to do it put the story out there and it will exist in perpetuity. Someone somewhere will always believe it no matter what and that's what gives what we hear traction. Public interest, culminating in what are probably toothless hearings, is probably the whole point behind what they are doing but not for the reasons given. If we had developed some radical new technology - or something that appears that way - or maybe both then what we have been hearing from our spooks is an extension of the 'it was us' mentality the CIA revealed years later. Best to wrap a real secret is a lot of nonsense, that way if the real secret is actually glimpsed there will always be doubt.

Usually this is where someone will point out 80 years of UFO cases and how technology that we might actually have within our grasp, or at least understanding today, was impossible decades ago. No argument form me over that. But that's a separate issue. I am talking about what we have been hearing over the last few years, from who, and how badly it's been represented. Beware Greeks - or Romulans, your choice - bearing gifts.

Thanks Pigfarmer, I very much enjoy reading your posts, as they are cautious and well thought out. And, As you suggest, and has certainly happened in the past, our black projects have been mistaken for UFOs and that belief was encouraged and a lot of misinformation put out to reinforce it. I just think that given the diversity and placement of the folks in the know suggesting aliens, and some quite earnestly, including folks like General McCasland, Steve Justice and so many others, that to me it is just proof that what that skeptics have said about the truth being too big to cover up, is ostensibly true. I don't think that the military or intelligence agencies (Avril Haines also suggested a possible ET solution, past presidents, past spymasters) even wanted to talk about UFOS with the American public. There has been an immense uptick in sightings and apparent violation of our airspace repeatedly, by objects we can't shoot down --it's the pilots and military personnel who have come out and put pressure on the military for answers, and involved Congress --if there was no uptick, and folks weren't coming out publicly, there would be no discussion now.
Military spending keeps going up, UFOs or not, and we can already destroy the world with what we all have:

Roscoe Hillenkoeter knew they were real, way back in '47, and told people there was a coverup, and he was head of the CIA. And the RAND paper also said they were real, conflating the historical accounts with modern occurences.
If they are the same as the ones in the '50s and '60's that were watched through telescopes, theodolites and binoculars, for hours at a time by police and others, and the by entire stadiums full of people, and even by myself, twice, and the descriptions are the same across decades... Well you know where I am headed with this, and I know you suspect it yourself too! So, some folks need more evidence or to see it for themselves, and hopefully more doubts will be dispelled over time. I certainly respect your opinions and analysis, so let us hope more information comes out.

This happened before --the objects increasing contact, when they flew back and forth over the Capitol for days, and the government had to address it. The hilarious thing about the statement is that even though they don't know what they were and couldn't intercept them for days, they are said to be of "no threat or consistency" Say WHAT? They just flew over the freaking Capitol.
The statement is very similar to what happened at the congressional hearing.

Thanks!

Coincidentally I started listening to this the other day - haven't got too far in yet but it has my attention:

Ep 233: What It Wasn't: Or "How I learned to stop dismissively categorizing potentially paranormal events as mass hysteria" — Astonishing Legends

The gist is that 'proof' depends on context. What an empirical scientist calls proof is not what a sociologist would. Doesn't mean one is right or wrong - as Obi Wan pointed out the truths we cling to depend greatly on our point of view.
In UFOs: Myths, Conspiracies, and Realities J B Alexander said that the interest in this topic exists within our government the same as it exists outside it so it isn't surprising that senior members or people with special access share this belief, especially in a time of heightened interest. It doesn't necessarily follow that they actually do have special knowledge or that they would share it without a host of complications.

In fact, I get the impression that interest - and keeping it in the forefront - is part of the intent. A distraction, maskirovka, regardless of what the phenomenon being reported is or isn't.
