Strange Creatures in the Media

As Above So Below
Not convinced, it "seems" to disappear behind the vegetation.

But the "object" doesn't seem to flex and moves as a unit which works in favor of your theory.

I agree I'm also not convinced of the explanations given, it does move behind vegetation from what I can tell...

Stare..... They are always staring
The thing that makes me a little sceptical...well actually very sceptical...is if you look at the handful of submissions mentioned at the beginning they were all reported around the same time period, the 1890s which was riff with that kind of stuff, it conveniently sold papers

About 7 years ago I had a chance to read Jerome Clark's wonderful submission " Unnatural Phenomena: A Guide to the Bizarre Wonders of North America" I was be-smacked by the sheer number of giant snakes crawling around in our beautiful country in that same era.

I will say I was quite taken a few years back by that mass of squiggly worms that was reported in a North Carolina ( I think) sewer that showed a sensitivity to light. That was awesome!!

that is one of the creepiest videos i have ever seen, the fact that flesh mass is composed of worms only makes it more digusting

Monster mosquitos in North Carolina.
North Carolina resident films moment mob of mosquitoes swarm her car | Daily Mail Online
A plague of shaggy-legged gallinippers have swarmed North Carolina
  • The massive mosquitoes spawned from floodwaters left by Hurricane Florence
  • Cassie Vadovsky returned home from picking her four-year-old daughter up from school last Tuesday
  • She filmed the moment the insets swarmed her car while her daughter cried
  • Eggs of the massive mosquitoes hatch when they are covered in water
  • They are usually large, aggressive towards humans and have a painful bite
  • Residents bemoan the invasion as they try to clean up after devastating floods

I'm skeptical because they're touching it without gloves.

Whatever it is it's quite beautiful.

Hi Michael, yes it is rather aesthetically appealing isn't it. But it's not really a mystery and isn't even rare really. It's a 'Sea Pickle' or "Pyrosome" to be precise ...
Pyrosomes, genus Pyrosoma, are free-floating colonial tunicates that live usually in the upper layers of the open ocean in warm seas, although some may be found at greater depths. Pyrosomes are cylindrical or cone-shaped colonies made up of hundreds to thousands of individuals, known as zooids. Colonies range in size from less than one centimeter to several metres in length.

...I've seen them on a David Attenborough programme years ago and made me wonder about the possibilities of there being the odd 'super specimen' a few times the length of this one that could account for some of those 'Tubular USO's' that we hear about gliding beneath boats?.

Cheers Buddy.
