Area51 was created around 1955 to develop the U2.......the Nevada Test Site began service in 1951.

Why do you think a lot of the people at Area51 got sick.

heard about that a while ago in a interview
the contrasct in the base is really bizzare
in one side we have miserable dormitories and the radiation problem, in the other side their entertainment resources are unusually big, i have heard in the past that inside area 51 they have a bar that is better than anything they have in Las Vegas, its almost like they want their workers to ignore the poor housing conditions with bread and circuses

We are looking at a crater from an underground nuclear test. Based on the images of the Sedan shot I think this tower was used to take the images. If you look immediately to the east you'll see a very large crater......I think I posted pictures of the Sedan crater/shot.
