What is the correct pronunciation of this word ???
Yes it is a word {supposedly}:

" Taumatawhakatangihangakoauauotamateaturipukakapikimaungahoronukupokaiwhenuakitanatahu[1] is a hill near Porangahau, south of Waipukurau in southern Hawke's Bay, New Zealand. The height of the hill is 305 metres (1,001 ft). The hill is notable primarily for its unusually long name, which is of Māori origin; it is often shortened to Taumata for brevity.[2] It has gained a measure of fame as it is the longest place name found in any English-speaking country, and possibly the longest place name in the world; according to World Atlas.[3] The name of the hill (with 85 characters) has also been listed in the Guinness World Records as the longest place name......." - Wikipedia

Is the word ever used? - If not is it fair to say it is a word? - Another words are words virtually never actually used really words, or just artificial constructs ?

On the other hand - that word sounds 'alien' to me - It does not appear to be a word that would occur in normal Human language, any language, anywhere on the planet Earth - 'They' had to give us this word !

maybe the Maori are having a laugh at us :)
I don't know - But for some weird reason I feel a desire to go there!

I think I might get along with the Maori:

"Māori are the tangata whenua, the indigenous people, of New Zealand. They came here more than 1000 years ago from their mythical Polynesian homeland of Hawaiki. Today, one in seven New Zealanders identify as Māori. Their history, language and traditions are central to New Zealand's identity.

Why don't you ask a Maori? It is probably a story about something that happened on that hill and what ever englishman documenting names of places wrote it down as if it was one word. In Arizona there is a place called Canyon Te'She' or Deshay (depending on whether the person asking about the name of the place was an english speaker or spanish speaker) and neither of those are really the name of the place. But someone insisted on being able to spell it.
