I think it's because people have stopped believing that the threat level is as severe as we have been told.

An enormous amount of people have lost, businesses, jobs/careers, friendships and respect for those around them. Families have been torn apart....and yet apparently everything is back to normal operations. Except that we must wear masks inside public buildings and keep our hands washed.

It's not business as usual and never will be again. Not unless the governments bail out all the people who lost their livelihoods and will eventually lose their homes. You know, like they did for the banks in the US. lol Like that's going to happen.

People are pissed. It is about to get real ugly out there people and I ain't just talking haircuts.

It's has always been that way here too. Even before healthcare was free for everyone. Now it's just worse.

I still think Canada is the best country in the world to live in. I mean that.

A good friend of mine is bit of a loner. He has a little cat that's 20+ years old and he's just shy of 80.
Well, today is the day. That day for his little cat. Der Tag.

Just got off the phone with the man. He only lives a half mile away, I'm hoping he'll let me drive him over. Doesn't see for shit at all at night any more and he'll be upset. Many of us have been there with pets, but this nice sweet man doesn't have much and is losing a big chunk of what is important to him.

Jeeeeez, that made it past the armor and touched a sensitive spot.

I have one of those type friends, my friend however is younger, in his 40s, lives out further in the country than I do, I don't have cellular service at his place whenever I go there, which is where I've been all day...The steps on his back deck had some tree damage from hurricane zeta, he's since cleared the tree but doesn't know how to build steps, that's where I come in lol...We got them 90% completed, just a four step run, he can finish the remaining part of the work, and it was cold as frak this morning but driving back it's 73 degrees and sunshine, turned into a nice day...

Off to the races shortly. Never heard from my friend last night. I'm sure he's upset but OK. Don't want to treat him like he's feeble. Next day or two I'll have him over for a beer. We can hang out in the garage, tell lies about our cars.

Kate showed us a website she wants to apply for. She is an adult. Having said that Rikki and I have told her no.
I told her she needs to concentrate on being a lawyer not a youthful f*** you to socitiy.

Everything is so dry now, mowed the dried leaves and the sparse grass growing, I usually don't wear a mask mowing but I did today since I was stirring up too much dried debris...It always seems to dry out around here in November, the humidity is very low right now...

I've been hanging out in my workshop tonight, piddling around with this and that, along with some tinkering around, at some point a bottle of wine was opened...Well!, hmm, I wondered a bit then came to the conclusion that it must have been me who opened the wine since Kobi doesn't know where I keep the corkscrew opener (or does he)...Either way I really couldn't let a good bottle of wine go to waste, after all it just happens to be one of my favourite flavours of red so without fail I commenced to a drinkin' buuuut then, some odd hours later the wine ran out unexpectedly, wait wait, I remembered I also had small crisps that I was munching on during the wine tasting...So either I miscounted the crisps or someone else got into the wine because I ended up with extra crisps and I should have had extra wine if I was counting correctly...Then I immediately looked in Kobi's direction with suspicious eyes however he was fast asleep with a stuffed cotton raccoon under his front leg, so it couldn't have been him nor the raccoon who nipped my wine, although I'm keeping my eye on that raccoon, he acts like he's asleep but his eyes are wide open...Hmmm!...lol

    Synchronicity.

Bright red pair of welding gloves show up on a ladder right where I was working. Odd. I had them in my hand and before I could do anything a guy cruised in the front door and asked for .... wait for it ... welding gloves.

    Huh.

Project screeched to a halt. Need a set of thread chasers. Got no lack of tap & dies, never needed a chaser til now. Guess I skated. Last nice weather of the year and I can't go for a cruise because I can't get these two goddamned parts to line up. The commies that make parts now aren't quite as 'close tolerance' as GM was years ago.

Two years ago I lost my old job..
I look back on those dark days. My wife helped me in the dark hours.
My kids rallied to support my sagging sprits.
Today I have a good job. A good boss.
    My work is valued.
    Things happen for a reason.

If worrying about covid was not bad enough. I was contacted by Lincoln elementary about a man who has been entering the play ground dressed as a clown. Signs and armed security are the new new norm.. sigh.. IMG_20201107_094853243.jpg

I saw a raccoon running across the meadow earlier today, in the daylight, it looked almost black in colour, got me wondering if it's rapid...Tomorrow I'm going to set up cameras to see if it's comes around again during the day or at night and if so gauge it's behaviour...It might have been passing through, who knows...

I'm not sure yet but those critters usually don't come out in the daylight of an afternoon and run across an open meadow...I'm surprised the hawks weren't out today to see him, there's two local hawks that make routine fly-overs across that meadow, but they aren't around every day...

They come out once in a while in the day if they have a reason. Maybe it had to mail a letter.

I had a rabid one once. It was a zombie, clearly screwed up, flopping around unnaturally. Had to shoot it,
