Washington University in St. Louis: 'Professionalism' is racist

An event at Washington University in St. Louis is asking students one question: "Is Professionalism a Racist Construct?" The event is being held virtually through the university on Feb. 1, but states that the term professionalism, at times, "has at times been used to silence and marginalize people of color."

"The term ‘professionalism’ has at times been used to silence and marginalize people of color, when attributes of appearance, language or interactions that have nothing to do with job knowledge or constructive collegial relationships are labeled as 'unprofessional,'" the event description states.

In this context, the event description states, professionalism upholds white supremacy.

"In this context, so-called professionalism is coded language, a construct that upholds institutional racist policies and excluding practices," the description states.

According to the description, the event will focus on "dismantling white supremacy and privilege in varied contexts while upholding social justice and advancing effective workplaces in which all contributors can bring their full selves to the job site."

In September, Washington University in St. Louis received national attention after a student senator placed American flags from a 9/11 display on campus into trash bags. The display was set up as a memorial by the university's Young Americans for Freedom chapter for the victims of 9/11, with 2,911 flags placed on campus representing each 9/11 victim who was murdered.

Washington University in St. Louis did not offer additional comment in time for publication.

My throat gets scratchy when I eat those.

Maybe it's the sneakers you're choking on. I don't want to eat sentient food. At least I don't want to chew it up while it's still kicking and screaming and talking for Christ's sake .......

It has nothing to do with cowardice, if they have weapons and you don't, they win. But try explaining to someone who's British that freedom to bear arms is fundamental for securing the democracy.

Anyway, I found this one, I thought you'll like it. Russian wisdom :)

Outrage as Disney debuts 'new look' for Minnie Mouse, ditching her iconic red dress in favor of a 'progressive' blue pantsuit designed by Stella McCartney - one day after vowing to take 'new approach' to Snow White remake

Disneyland Paris unveiled the famous character's brand new outfit on Tuesday via Twitter - but many people quickly put the company on blast for the change. Minnie - who was created in 1928 - has famously worn a red and white polka-dot dress for years, but now, Disney thought it was time for a change. Stella created the new costume for her - in honor of Women's History Month, which takes place in March, and in celebration of the park's 30th anniversary. She opted for a blue polka-dot blazer with matching pants - in an attempt to make her a 'symbol of progress for a new generation.' The change was met with a very cold shoulder from fans, with many people accusing the company of trying to be 'woke,' and calling her old outfit 'timeless.'

'Peter Dinklage just put seven of us out of a job!' Dwarf actors' fury at Disney for canceling seven dwarves from Snow White remake because the woke multimillionaire Game of Thrones star said they were offensive

Speaking to DailyMail.com after Disney's decision to 'rethink' the characters, multiple actors and agents said there are plenty who would have happily accepted the jobs that Dinklage - a multimillionaire and Golden Globe winner - said were 'backwards'. The actors say Dinklage is not the authority on what the community as a whole finds offensive and that in canceling the roles, Disney has done far more damage to them than good. Some are now begging Disney to bring the parts back and are begging for the chance to audition for them. Dylan Postl was the WWE leprechaun for 10 years. He said he would have jumped at the role, as would Jeff Brooks, a 62-year-old dwarf actor from Dallas, Texas.

DC Comics' 'woke' Superman reboot fails to fly with readers: report

Excerpts

A reboot of DC Comics' "Superman" series – featuring "woke" story lines – hasn't exactly showed strength in its sales numbers, according to a report.

Sales of "Superman: Son of Kal-El" reportedly didn't crack the Top 50 for units sold, only five issues into its new run, according to the website Bounding into Comics and reported by The Washington Times.

Sales of the new comic book have reportedly failed since DC replaced Clark Kent with his millennial son Jonathan Kent. That change took place last summer, the Times reported.

The PC aspect of it is irritating. But even worse for me is the implication of extreme psychological fragility among the younger generation. Hopefully, hardly anybody actually utilizes these resources, or the future of this country is dim.

Can you imagine when the baby boomers die off and the next generations take over? I will be glad I am not around for that fiasco. It’s no wonder that stand up comedians will not visit college campuses these days.

Outrage as Whoopi Goldberg claims 'Holocaust is not about race': The View star stuns co-hosts by insisting it was about 'man's inhumanity to man' because Nazis targeted 'two white groups'

Whoopi Goldberg claimed on Monday that the Holocaust 'was not about race' because it involved 'two groups of white people' and instead was an example of 'man's inhumanity to man'. Goldberg made the astonishing comments on The View, the show she co-hosts on ABC. It stunned her co-hosts and sparked outrage among viewers. The panel had been discussing a Tennessee school removing the comic Maus from its curriculum because it contained nudity. Whoopi started off by saying: 'Personally I am shocked because given the story of Maus I am surprised that that's what made you uncomfortable. 'It's about the Holocaust, the killing of 6million people, but that didn't bother you. 'This is white people doing it to white people so y'all go fight amongst yourselves but...' Later, she carried on: 'Let's be truthful about it. The Holocaust isn't about race. No. It's not about race. It's not about race. It's not about race. It's about man's inhumanity to man. That's what it's about.' Co-hosts Ana Navarro, Joy Behar and Sarah Haines all argue back but she continued: 'But these are two white groups of people? You are missing the point. The minute you turn it into race, it goes down this alley.

While for many decades, most people have regarded most Jews as white, this wasn't always the case. The Nazis certainly didn't consider them to be white. And since then, various Aryan groups have had the same perspective. Moreover, stretching back into history, ethnic group, tribe, and race were usually employed synonymously. "Race" doesn't have an inflexible, unitary definition. Whoopee is quite ignorant for a talk show host. Although bad in itself, it's exacerbated by her obtuseness.
