The thread below this would indicate that this is not genuinely a Tweet from a Chinese woman.

I'm not surprised, there's a lot of fake crap on Twitter, its sometimes difficult to identify...

Just an observation. A lot of people are hooking up their electric car chargers, I talk to several per week now.

While you're waiting for it to charge how about you sit down and do some online shopping so those gasoline driven delivery trucks that now circle the neighborhood like buzzards will bring you something nice. Or, once you have your Earthmommy car charged how about you go to a local retail store and buy something off the shelf. Please do - I see things that come from all over the world in HD that are complete pieces of crap in the first place that are more often than not wasted and literally chucked into a compactor.

As a whole we are hypocritical gluttons. Penny wise and pound foolish. I wonder how our carbon footprint would change if we stopped with the ruinous retail waste

I did see an online article about how much mining for materials in an electric car it takes (mostly for the battery). It isn’t pretty. Of course much of these materials come from countries that aren’t our best friends. I wonder if the rush to go from gas cars to electric isn’t a bit premature.

Reversal of Disney's self-governing status 'ironic' says historian Victor Davis Hanson

With the repeal of Disney's special self-governing status in Florida, the dynamic of woke corporations attacking conservative states is being reversed, historian Victor Davis Hanson told Fox News Friday. Hanson told "Hannity" the dissolution of Disney's self-governing status is an ironic counteraction to the trend of corporations like Coca-Cola, Delta Airlines and Major League Baseball denouncing or acting against a center-right legislative decision.

Hanson pointed to Coke and MLB's outcry over Georgia's passage of an election security law, which led to the All-Star Game being relocated from Atlanta to Denver – as well as pressure from other corporations against a now-overturned policy in North Carolina requiring people to use the bathroom designated to their birth sex. The NCAA and several companies threatened action after then-Gov. Pat McCrory supported the legislation.

Outrage over the Disney decision is "ironic" given that context, Hanson said. "Over the last decade we've been told that private business can really force these conservative states to their knees – if they have ID laws, Major League Baseball will boycott them, or [North] Carolina has just two bathrooms, and all of our California companies here will shut out billions of dollars," he said.

"So now it's sort of reverse that. Not really. It's not even equal yet, but the states are saying we can do this too. We can pass laws that reflect our values, just like you can boycott our states."

He added that there have been some eccentric reactions to the move, including from American Federation of Teachers chief Randi Weingarten, who claimed decisions like DeSantis' are "how wars start."

Hanson said Weingarten actually has a point, but not one she intended to make – in that the Third Reich in Germany and the Maoist Revolution in China can be partially traced to indoctrination of youth into a totalitarian ideology. "It's kind of ironic that she was right," he said.

I have never understood giving all these corporations huge tax breaks. Disney makes billions of dollars each year. Why should they benefit even more? The same goes for tax payers funding stadiums. Totally insane.

Interesting that Coca-Cola would take such a principled stand over electoral and LGBT rights issues. The following FIFA webpage boasts that Coca-Cola has had stadium advertising in every football World Cup since 1950, and that Coca-Cola holds privileged 'partner' status in sponsoring the upcoming Qatar 2022 FIFA World Cup.

Partners

Qatar has been criticized for attaining the right to host the tournament through corruption, of keeping the foreign workers who build the stadia for the tournament in exploitative conditions that make them effectively slaves, and having them work under lax safety standards that lead to a high rate of accidents and deaths (one leading cause of death among the workers is heat stroke). It is also nearly an absolute monarchy, granting its public very narrow democratic rights, with decision which can effectively be overturned by the ruling monarchy if they don't like them. It also has non-LGBT friendly stances towards homosexual relations (homosexuality is de jure punishable by death), as well as having corporal punishment. Its foreign labour force (which vastly outnumbers the ruling native population) is kept with expatriate status, with no hope of ever gaining the right of citizenship, much less ever be granted meaningful democratic rights. Never mind males and females being able to share the same bathrooms if they choose, in Qatar, they are not even allowed to use the same teaching facilities at university. But Coca-Cola is OK with all of this.

Over the years, more so in recent years than in the 20th century, I've noticed similar approaches from other large corporations like Coca-Cola and at various degrees...It's as if they are singling out America with whatever their motives are, whilst paying more respect towards other countries that are far more restrictive and/or authoritarian in governance...For instance, these days many large corporations bend the knee to China and give little respect towards their country of origin...

Disney has been making poor decisions for many recent years and it's finally catching up to them...When they recently changed CEOs and he announced he was going to move the company more towards a neutral position politically and socially and focus on providing quality entertainment and profit the activists in Disney went nuts and started all kinds of problems for the company...They should have cleaned house before it got this far...Here's a short video in another thread outlining the details on this: Disney wokeness...

Google goes woke! Search engine launches 'inclusive language' function to cut down on politically incorrect words

Google has launched an ‘inclusive language’ function designed to avoid the use of politically incorrect words.

Users typing ‘landlord’ will see a warning that it ‘may not be inclusive to all readers’ with the suggestion they should try ‘property owner’ or ‘proprietor’ instead.

The word ‘humankind’ is a suggested alternative to what the online giant apparently sees as the controversial term ‘mankind’.

Gender specific terms such as ‘policemen’ or ‘housewife’ should also be replaced by ‘police officers’ and ‘stay-at-home spouse’, according to the new Google Document style programme. It is now being rolled out to what the firm calls enterprise-level users.

Many computer document systems use methods to correct spelling and grammar.

But nudging users towards woke language is being seen by critics as a step too far. Tests on the system have also thrown up major flaws.

A transcribed interview with ex Klu Klux Klan leader David Duke, in which he uses offensive racial slurs and talks about hunting black people, prompted no warnings.

But it suggested President John F Kennedy’s inaugural address should say ‘for all humankind’ instead of ‘for all mankind’.

Now 'woke' radicals target cricket and KNITTING: How taxpayers' cash from Arts Council England has been spent on 'decolonising' specialist museums of 'racist narratives' depicting history of 'white, wealthy, able-bodied men'

First it was statues, then it was street names and books by white authors. Now left-wing radicals have cricket and knitting in their woke sights as they aim to decolonise Britain — and they've used millions in taxpayers' money to do it.

Taxpayers' cash is being spent to decolonise English museums, which depict a history written by 'white, wealthy, able-bodied men'.

Arts Council England has poured millions of hardworking Britons' money into Museum Development England, which said museums in the country, including attractions dedicated to cricket and knitwear, needed help with 'equity and inclusion'.

There has been continued outrage at the lengths woke museum and arts bosses are going to scrub their museums of history in an attempt to seem inclusive and diverse.

The advisory body gave guidance to attraction bosses during a training scheme that allegedly showed how 'racist narratives' and 'implicit racism' can occur in museums because the history we all learnt about has been mostly written by 'white men', The Telegraph reported.

Museum Development England's guidance said: 'History is written by the winners and in Europe and the British Empire, the winners tend to have been white, wealthy, able-bodied men.

Washington state legislature strikes word 'marijuana' from state laws, citing racism

The Washington State Legislature recently passed a bill replacing the word "marijuana" with "cannabis" in all state laws, citing the alleged racist origins of the Spanish word.

"The term ‘marijuana’ itself is pejorative and racist," said Democratic state Rep. Melanie Morgan claimed during 2021 testimony regarding House Bill 1210, which she sponsored, according to local CBS affiliate KIRO 7.

"As recreational marijuana use became more popular, it was negatively associated with Mexican immigrants," Morgan explained. "Even though it seems simple because it’s just one word, the reality is we’re healing the wrongs that were committed against Black and Brown people around cannabis."

How long before some woke sleuth uncovers that 'cannabis' has a racist origin?
Such dummies; insanely believing the origins of a word affects current meaning and usage.

Getting ready for work and heard some nonsense about a kid that 'transitioned' without the consent of his parents but somehow with the tactic consent of the school district. Yuh huh.

Not PC to even say this - but do you hear about Black, Latino or Asian kids doing this? Seems a Wonder Bread phenomenon to me, at least what we see in the media. Ooops- almost called it the news there for a minute. I forget sometimes.

There is just such a person about 250 feet from me right now. Neighbor's kid. I remember this kid growing up as an insular weirdo and now he's a young adult who is an insular weirdo who identifies with the female sex. I'm no biologist but I'm pretty sure that little snot - generally not a pleasant or polite kid in the first place - has a dick and often sports a 5 o'clock shadow. I don't care about any of that but can't help but wonder what happens if he heads into a public restroom or locker room.

At my gym during renovation a disgusting female contractor took delight in cruising through the locker room while we're all in various states of undress. Let's have a disgusting male contractor do that to the women and see who's laughing.

Wisconsin lawmaker criticized for calling women ‘birthing bodies’ in tweet about abortion

A Wisconsin Democratic lawmaker was criticized over social media for using the term "birthing bodies" instead of women while tweeting about the potential reversal of Roe V. Wade.

State Rep. Francesca Hong made the substitution in a Monday evening tweet following the news of the leak of an alleged draft of U.S. Supreme Court Justice Samuel Alito's majority opinion to revoke the landmark 1973 case.

Is she a biologist maybe? Delicious irony that there's been all the blubbering about transgender non-binary non-denominational lactose free rainbow vomit issues and now we're talking about abortion where a very hard line exists that you are either on one side or the other on. I don't mean your opinions about it, I mean the need to have one in the first place. Seems you need a certain biological distinction to qualify .... the plumbing.

I think this is a repeat post for me - can't remember - but this song is relevant and contains one of my favorite lines

Lyrics

I turn on the tube and what do I see
A whole lotta people cryin' "Don't blame me"
They point their crooked little fingers at everybody else
Spend all their time feelin' sorry for themselves
Victim of this, victim of that
Your momma's too thin; your daddy's too fat
Get over it
Get over it
All this whinin' and cryin' and pitchin' a fit
Get over it, get over it
You say you haven't been the same since you had your little crash
But you might feel better if they gave you some cash
The more I think about it, Old Billy was right
Let's kill all the lawyers, kill 'em tonight
You don't want to work; you want to live like a king
But the big, bad world doesn't owe you a thing
Get over it
Get over it
If you don't want to play, then you might as well split
Get over it, get over it
It's like going to confession every time I hear you speak
You're makin' the most of your losin' streak
Some call it sick, but I call it weak
You drag it around like a ball and chain
You wallow in the guilt; you wallow in the pain
You wave it like a flag, you wear it like a crown
Got your mind in the gutter, bringin' everybody down
Complain about the present and blame it on the past
I'd like to find your inner child and kick its little ass
Get over it
Get over it
All this bitchin' and moanin' and pitchin' a fit
Get over it, get over it
Get over it
Get over it
It's gotta stop sometime, so why don't you quit
Get over it, get over it
Get over it

DC elementary school told four-year-old students to identify racists within their OWN family in 'Anti-Racism Fight Club' presentation

Students at a DC elementary school were given an 'anti-racism' presentation that asked them to identify any racists in their family.

A November 30 letter from DC's Janney Elementary School Principal Danielle Singh asked parents of Pre-K through third grade students to follow up on an 'Anti-Racism Fight Club' presentation by speaker Doylin Richards.

Richards is a motivational speaker, author and self-proclaimed 'anti-racism facilitator' who leads workshops on the topic.

Singh told parents to look through Richards' 'Anti-Racism Fight Club fist book for kids' to continue the conversation about race with the students at home.

'Today students in grades pre-k through third grade participated in the Anti-Racism Fight Club presentation with Doyin Richards,' Singh wrote. 'As part of this work, each student has a fist book to help continue the dialogue at school and home.'

The principal added that the discussion about race may cause different 'emotions' but that this was just the beginning of the dialogue.

Is this the death knell for Britain's historic street names? Fears woke campaigners will push through bids to remove signs after communities are handed vote on their future - but government hopes new bill will protect local heritage

The Levelling Up and Regeneration Bill, which was in yesterday's Queen's Speech, will enshrine in law that people living on that road - or surrounding streets - would be asked if they agree first. But critics have said that it is likely to be the death knell for certain street names in traditionally left-wing cities such as Liverpool, Birmingham, Glasgow and Bristol, where the population may be more inclined to back the whim of woke campaigners. Tories hope that holding small-scale referenda will stop local heritage being wiped out by BLM activists as well as left-wing politicians. In Labour-dominated London, 45 streets and statues have either been renamed, removed or are in the process of being cancelled (main picture). Sadiq Khan even set up a £1million fund to 'decolonise' street names. Street names linked to slave traders and even British heroes such as Winston Churchill and Horatio Nelson have found themselves at the heart of Britain's culture wars, as a new generation of activists reassesses the past. Changing a street or park name can cost taxpayers up to £185,000 due to the cost of new signs and the local council compensating residents £300 each to change their addresses on official documents. Last year, Swanage Town Council decided to re-name Darkie Lane to Dark Lane, prompted by a single letter of complaint from a family holidaying in the town in Dorset.
