Trump, What's up with This Dude?

Can you, please, translate this for us in Europe?
I'm quite worried that if Trump and his "mavericks" won it would mean the end of democracy in US.
Each state has only two Senators. In GA - Georgia - the race was too close to call so they'll be having a special runoff election in a couple of weeks to determine the winner. In this race, every seat counts. Trump seeds to STFU - Shut The F*** Up - over the next couple of weeks or they might as well just concede that race. He won't and frankly, lacking a clear majority it probably doesn't matter all that much. Certainly not to me anyway.

And no, 'democracy at stake' is just rhetoric. Bad rhetoric, but that's all it is. Hogwash.

Trump, due to his personality defects, confuses his own personal interest with the national/party interest. He believes that the Republican Party cannot succeed without him and his influence, and will not accept that it would best be served by his silence. If his interference leads to a poor outcome, in his mind it will be the fault of others.

Trump claims he sent in FBI to stop 'ballot theft' in 2018 Florida Governor race and helped DeSantis win - sparking calls for DOJ probe - as ex-president launches into 'scorched earth' rant at rival

Donald Trump on Thursday claimed that he meddled in the 2018 election to be governor of Florida, saying that he ordered the counting of ballots be stopped to ensure DeSantis won. As DeSantis' popularity has grown, Trump has been at pains to point out that he campaigned heavily for DeSantis in 2018, when he was running for governor for the first time. On Thursday, the former president went even further and claimed that he swung the election for DeSantis, whose race against Democrat Andrew Gillum went to a machine recount. 'I was all in for Ron, and he beat Gillum, but after the Race, when votes were being stolen by the corrupt Election process in Broward County, and Ron was going down ten thousand votes a day, along with now-Senator Rick Scott, I sent in the FBI and the U.S. Attorneys, and the ballot theft immediately ended, just prior to them running out of the votes necessary to win,' said Trump. 'I stopped his Election from being stolen…' DeSantis' 2018 election victory has not been contested, until now.

Trump is obviously consumed with jealousy for DeSantis' growing popularity.

Trump now goes after Glenn Youngkin: Says Virginia Republican Governor's last name 'sounds Chinese' and insists he couldn't have 'come close to winning' in 2021 without his endorsement - as he ups attacks on GOP and potential 2024 rivals

The former president wrote that 'Young Kin' is a name that 'sounds Chinese' and claimed that he helped him get the 'MAGA vote' in his victory over Democrat Terry McAuliffe in November 2021. It comes after Trump laid into Ron DeSantis by calling him 'average' and claimed that he sent in the FBI to 'stop ballot theft' when he won the Florida Governor race in 2018. 'Young Kin (now that's an interesting take. Sounds Chinese, doesn't it?) in Virginia couldn't have won without me,' he posted on Truth Social on Friday morning. 'I Endorsed him, did a very big Trump Rally for him telephonically, got MAGA to Vote for him - or he couldn't have come close to winning. But he knows that, and admits it. Besides, having a hard time with the Dems in Virginia - But he'll get it done!' Trump, 76, endorsed Youngkin and helped him in a telephone rally, but he never appeared in the state to campaign. Virginia's Lieutenant Governor Winsome Sears, who backed Trump in 2020, on Thursday called him a 'liability' and said the candidates he did not endorse fared better in Tuesday's election.

Donald Trump reminds me a lot of Meghan Markle. They both have a similar relationship with the truth; share an extreme sensitivity to criticism; burn a lot of bridges with previous friends, family and former acquaintances; are constantly telling the world that they are persecuted by prominent individuals and groups; and have managed to pull the wool over the eyes of a significant proportion of the population for a time (which is now ending for both of them), while the rest could see through them.

Which raises an interesting prospect of what Markle would be like if she made good on her threat to go into politics. A left-wing Trump? Hopefully she has revealed a little too much of her character beforehand for such a bid to be successful.

Honestly I think Megan Markle is just as 'off-balanced' mentally and emotionally as Donald Trump, if not more...She has a more passive-aggressive subtle approach than Trump, she works people from a different angle...

I think a hiccup in the mid-term elections, with the Republican Party performing less well than expected, could be quite a good thing. Better that it occurs now, as it enables it to rid itself of the shackles of Trump, putting it in a stronger position for the next election. If the Republicans had done well in spite of Trump's influence, then they may well have been saddled with him as a candidate in 2024, who is an opponent that even Joe Biden might be able to defeat. Trump's reverse-Midas touch has been exposed, and he is now history.

A president who wouldn't take 'no' for an answer, overcame a sex scandal and dodged military service (and it's not Trump): Grover Cleveland was the first to snatch back the White House after losing re-election - so can Donald do the same 130 years later?

After months of flirting with the idea, former President Donald Trump announced his third bid for the White House. Where so many have failed, Trump hopes to follow in the footsteps of Grover Cleveland (left), the only US president to serve two non-consecutive terms, becoming the 22nd and 24th presidents. The notion has caused pundits to comment on the similarities between the men: both native New Yorkers who started out as political outsiders and nearly had their campaigns derailed by salacious sex scandals. Cleveland had fathered a child out of wedlock, and a popular political cartoon at the time (left inset) poked fun at the situation, depicting a woman carrying a baby that said 'Ma, Ma, Where's my Pa.' Similarly, Trump's first marriage ended when he was caught having an affair with Marla Maples (seen together right inset with daughter Tiffany). During the 2016 election, Trump was also accused of sexual misconduct by 24 women, and dogged by his close relationship with pedophile Jeffrey Epstein.
