August- it's not real... the dripping effect was created in software like autodesk maya using the biofrost pluggin or created with adobe aftereffects. i use these effects all the time myself- it's my job.
this is most definitely cgi in my professional opinion... move on
i'm sure it's cgi so my soul is settled on it= but please enjoy the possibility that it might not bebut the LA police dept video not as easy explanation however, that one I'm going with we don't know for sure what's going on

Also hard or not, all of those effects are possible using computers.
