Anyone seen Wandavison yet? The first two episodes were released on Disney+ a few days ago.

    Premise
After the events of Avengers: Endgame (2019), Wanda Maximoff and Vision are living the idyllic suburban life in the town of Westview, trying to conceal their powers. As they begin to enter new decades and encounter television tropes, the couple suspects that things are not as they seem.

I've been watching wandavision It's pretty neat, It manages to cleverly parody Old 50's suburban comedies, like Bewitched and I Dream of Jeannie and it does it in such a way that Wanda And Vision very often break the 4th wall and you make the realization, Wanda is hiding them from something or running away from something in the real world, It's pretty cool, Plus It's awesome when you make the realization that Vision is still in possession of the Mind Stone, So the guy literally has like one-sixth of the power cosmic. The show is building up to something big. It's a pretty meta show, But Meta isn't the Mind-blowing renaissance it would have been five years ago, Meta is a more common trait of Modern Television. Still, Wondavision is pretty good, Especally in the light that, Not a lot of great Tv has been happening in the last year or so because of the whole Pandemic thing...

Yeah, a pretty cool show all in all.

How can that be when Vision was killed before the events of Endgame?...

lol It's a huge topic of mystery and debate across the web! One idea is time travel, another is that he is just a hallucination of Wanda's, yet another is that as an AI, Vision was previously downloaded somewhere.

I've got to assume MCU has something up their sleeve.

Well., While it hasn't been shown in the MCU, Wanda is suffice it say, Almost unmatched in her power. remember, She momentarily beat down a fully infinity powered Thanos. The woman Is personally responsible for wiping out 98 percent of the mutant population just by muttering, " No more mutants" The truth is, even in the comics, They don't know how powerful Wanda really is, But, She has rewritten realty a time or two. That leaves the question, Is she powerful enough, To simply resurrect Vision complete with his mind stone. Well, there is no evidence to support that she isn't.

She's a wild card. Capable of anything really.

Keep in mind Wanda, Is a mutant. However, Her power isn't a mutant Power, She uses something Called Chaos Magic. An ability she inherited from her Mother, Who in the comics, is a complete mystery. But., her power isn't entirely mutant based. She's more like a dr strange. in that sense.

If I can edit this in real quick. There is a vision comic., [IMG]

In this comic, Wanda and vision had children, And when the avengers ripped her out of the illusion and into reality, her mind was stuck in the fantasy, She became a supervillain, Believing the avengers killed her family. I believe Wanda may be the next big villain. A villain people will understand and be sympathetic with, But a danger none the less..

I just watched episode 3. It was 80% comedy, but the serious themes have begun to emerge. Something weird is definitely afoot. I don't know if it's entirely due to Wanda, but she's definitely part of it.

My thing Is, I kind of like the show, but I worry they are using it as a platform to lead into the next phase of Marvel movies, I kinda wanted Wandavision to be a permanent thing.

I don't have the familiarity with the comics that you have, but here's what one one writer has to say about your idea.

"WandaVision would be best-suited as a limited miniseries. Stretching out the show any longer than that would be an injustice to the iconic and devastating comic book storyline that WandaVision seems to be pulling inspiration from, "House of M."
    WandaVision: One Season Is Enough

Even though I never read that comic, I would say that the setting of the show is a rather peculiar, seemingly unstable atmosphere, so I could see why it may be thought unsuitable for a long running series.

By the way, here's a tidbit from ep 3.

I am still waiting for episode 4 to drop. I was rewatching episode three, I've come to the conclusion that Sword. "The Multiversal counterpart to Shield" Has Wanda Trapped, I believe they have her in a sedated comatose state and they are using a simulation to create a reality in which they can either control her or harness her power. or simply keep her pacified. These are just my current thoughts. I don't know anything for certain. But, I believe the reason Wanda is going along with this reality is, That she didn't create it. She may believe it to be a genuine reality.

A little Comic Lore for funsies,

The Scarlett Witch is an older character than you would think, She has been around for a while.

her first appearance was in the X-Men number 4, " Yes, She appeared just three issues after Magento Did."

Originally, She was Thought to be the Daughter Of Magneto, She was so certain of this, Much of her early Character arc in the '60s was to simply get magneto to confess this, It was later revealed that she and her Brother Quicksilver were the children of an old 1970's hero

The Wizzer, Wasn't anything special, He was a Marvel Clone of Dc's Flash. He was later removed from the comics entirely because of legal issues. but, This would explain, Quicksilver's speed. Would explain it, However, It was later retconned "A comics word, Meaning, The older canon of the story was changed by the revelation of a future event" SO, It was Retconned, That The now Wanda Frank, Who had changed her last name to the Family name of her Father, Was in fact, Not a Mutant, That her and her brother quicksilver Were in fact Test subjects of the High Evolutionary.

The High Evolutionary. Guess what his powers are? He literally is a mutant, His ability is the power to genetically alter any life form however he sees fit.
His goal was to create Gods. Why? Just to see if he could, This guy is that crazy powerful. So, Wanda and Quicksilver are not Mutants. They are in fact, Humans who were genetically altered By The High Evolutionary at birth to be what he thought a God should be. After this was revealed, She Changed her Last name to Maximoff, In honor of her Adopted Parents.

So, Wanda isn't really a Mutant, However, She and her brother's powers are "because of" a Mutant. And That's about all there is to know in a nutshell. There Is More, But, Who needs an encyclopedic breakdown. Ya know?

"Episode 4, "We Interrupt This Program," rewinds a little bit as we travel to Westview with Captain Monica Rambeau and her team of S.W.O.R.D. agents as they try to figure out what's going on."

    (I'll watch it this evening.)

That's not so, at least not in the comic books...Sword is:

S.W.O.R.D. (Sentient World Observation and Response Department) is a fictional counterterrorism and intelligence agency appearing in American comic books published by Marvel Comics. Its purpose is to deal with extraterrestrial threats to world security and is the space-based counterpart of S.H.I.E.L.D., which deals with local threats to the world.

    From the article you cited:
"S.W.O.R.D. appears in the live-action Disney+ MCU show WandaVision. This version of the organization's full name is the Sentient Weapon Observation and Response Division."

Reminds me of Advanced Aerospace Weapon Systems Applications Program (AAWSAP) vs. Advanced Aerospace Threat Identification Program (AATIP)[

No, you're right, They don't seem to be multiversal, What's more, is, I'm not the first to think they are and mistakenly say that. It seems since 2015's secret wars that there has been some confusion on exactly what swords jurisdiction is. Marvel's SWORD, and What It Has to Do With WandaVision, Explained
