I wasn't being that serious, just having a laugh at the fat bastard who will have to find somewhere else to fill his face.

Didn't the Russkies play some folk music or even recipes for soup from one of their early orbiters? Maybe ExtraIvan can find some solace in his grandmother's cabbage recipes, or steppe bison or something. Deep fry anything and it's usually tasty :)

yeah, imagine cooking stew and cabbage on a space-station. Taking up all the cutlery and pottery up there.

Russian state TV demands America 'returns' Alaska and California's Fort Ross to Russia, threatens NUCLEAR strike on US in response to sanctions, and calls for public hangings in Ukraine

A Russian lawmaker and the Kremlin's 'spin doctor' Oleg Matveychev (inset) shared a list of demands for both Washington and Kyiv 'after Ukraine's demilitarization is completed.' Moscow's TV pundits and show hosts have also begun endorsing the idea of publicly hanging Ukrainians who are standing against Russia -- something the Kremlin has reportedly already mulled, according to Bloomberg. It comes as Russian and Ukrainian officials meet for another round of peace talks Tuesday. In response to the west's vast economic blockade, Russia's Foreign Ministry on Tuesday announced sanctions against 11 people linked to US leadership including President Joe Biden.

'We know who our friends are': Zelensky says Ukraine must accept it WON'T join NATO and has 'learned who our true friends are' as Kyiv braces for 36 hours of hell under fresh Russian bombardments

Volodymyr Zelensky, speaking on the 20th day of Russia's invasion today, said that 'it is a truth and must be acknowledged' that there is no path open for Ukraine to join NATO. 'We have heard for years that the doors were open, but we also heard that we could not join,' he said - a statement that will be music to the ears of Vladimir Putin, who had demanded Ukraine be banned from the Western military alliance before invading. Zelensky's statement further opens the door to some kind of peace deal between the two sides, after negotiators hailed 'substantial progress' in recent talks and one of Zelensky's aides hinted that combat could be over within weeks. Ukraine has been demanding a ceasefire and the withdrawal of all Russian troops from its territory. Zelensky again urged Western allies to impose a no-fly zone over Ukraine and deplored NATO's refusal to do so thus far, adding that the dire situation in his country has 'allowed us to see who our true friends are these past 20 days'. Zelensky spoke as Kyiv mayor Vitali Klitschko ordered a curfew and warned civilians to prepare for an intense period of Russian bombardment after four people were killed in strikes on the capital this morning.

PUTIN'S ROAD TO WAR
Airs on March 15, 2022

"Dear FRONTLINE community,

For years, we have been examining Russian President Vladimir Putin’s rise and how he has wielded power.

Tonight, as Russia’s invasion of Ukraine continues, we’ll premiere Putin’s Road to War — a documentary special investigating what brought Putin, and the world, to this dangerous tipping point.

Through in-depth conversations with multiple heads of U.S. intelligence agencies, diplomats, Russian politicians, historians and journalists, this special report chronicles defining moments that shaped the Russian leader, the grievances that drive him, and how a growing conflict with the West exploded into war in Europe.

“Vladimir Putin is going to rank up there as one of the worst and most brutal killers of the 21st century,” New Yorker staff writer Susan Glasser tells us. “And his career in power has been marked by a willingness to use extreme force and violence and war as a tool of his repression, internal and external.”...............

Might the sudden withdrawal of all western businesses, along with the economic sanctions, simply cause Russians on the whole to despise the west and further back Putin, and to perhaps support someone even worse than Putin, should he be deposed over his folly?

Indeed, a very real possibility, even more so when in combination with other moves, such as Russia disconnecting from the internet, and all of it will be blamed on the West and America in particular...This will only serve to strengthen the Russian government's position with the Russian people...

Its also possible that the risk of a nuclear detonation in a populated area is higher now than it was in the 70s or 80s given the circumstances as a whole...

They threatened a nuclear strike over this? Well then, they probably WILL give it all back.

United States will deploy THOUSANDS of troops to Australia amid warning country could go to war with China

Thousands of American soldiers trained to use surface-to-air missile systems, High Mobility Artillery Rockets and unmanned aircraft are bound for Australia as tensions grow with China.

The rotational US Marine force of about 2200 servicemen and women will be based in the Northern Territory during the upcoming dry season from September.

It is the 11th deployment to the Top End and for the first time will include 250 US Army personnel, the Australian Defence Force announced.

The contingent is part of an ongoing US initiative in the Indo-Pacific region to prepare for a possible Chinese invasion of Taiwan in coming years.

Defence Minister Peter Dutton in September warned conflict with China 'shouldn't be discounted' and on Wednesday told the US Studies Centre Beijing may look to annex Taiwan while the world is preoccupied with Russia's invasion of Ukraine.

The marine deployment will complement that Enhanced Air Co-operation program between the Royal Australian Air Force and United States Air Force.

About 1000 Marines have already landed in Darwin.

Biden's comments on Putin 'unacceptable and unforgivable': Kremlin

US President Joe Biden's reference to Russian leader Vladimir Putin as a "war criminal" over his military operation in Ukraine is "unacceptable and unforgivable," the Kremlin said Wednesday.

"We believe such rhetoric to be unacceptable and unforgivable on the part of the head of a state, whose bombs have killed hundreds of thousands of people around the world," said Putin's spokesman Dmitry Peskov, according to the state news agencies TASS and Ria Novosti.

Real threat or more sabre-rattling?...

Russia says it may need to 'put the US in its place' for stoking 'disgusting' Russophobia and trying to 'bring Putin to his knees' after Biden called him a war criminal

Former Russian President Dmitry Medvedev said Russia 'has the might to put all of our brash enemies in their place,' after Joe Biden called Putin a war criminal. His comments come after Putin's chilling comments about going after traitors inside Russia. His comments come amid indications that Russia's invasion has stalled in key areas, with Pentagon analysts concluding Ukraine has made effective use of US-provided weapons.

Russian leader says country must undergo a 'self-purification of society' to root out 'traitors'

The assault on Mariupol has revealed the full extent of Russian President Vladimir Putin’s determination to take Ukraine as he claims that his country will undergo a natural and necessary "self-purification" of "traitors."

"The Russian people will always be able to distinguish true patriots from scum and traitors and simply spit them out like a fly that accidentally flew into their mouths," Putin said Wednesday. "I am convinced that such a natural and necessary self-purification of society will only strengthen our country, our solidarity, cohesion and readiness to respond to any challenges."

Putin compared the West to Nazi Germany and accused Russians who opposed the war of having a "slave-like" mentality, The New York Times reported. He labeled the conflict "a struggle for our sovereignty, for the future of our country and our children."

Putin can’t seem to put the Ukraine in its place. I doubt he can take care of the US.
