Look, maybe the religious nuts are right - Always talking about the 'end times' and now convincing the Supreme Court
to end what they call baby killings - Let them have their way.

Women don't need the right to choose - In fact women and men don't need any rights if Civilization is toast.

And Putin can have his Soviet Empire back - Bound to be a few people left after the nukes and the rest can live
underground.

I wonder if the insects {known survivalists in adverse conditions} will breed fast and evolve back into dinosaurs?

As long as insects learn the lesson from human disdain, I don't mind insect developing brains and civilisation.

Insectoid Aliens
"You've got Humanoid Aliens, and you've got Starfish Aliens. Somewhere in between are the Insectoid Aliens: aliens modeled after Earth arthropods.

Often, inspiration for this trope comes from "eusocial insects," including many species in the order Hymenoptera (ants, bees, and wasps) and insects in the infraorder Isoptera (termites), who are able to create societies with caste systems and complex habitats similar to that of human cities. Thus often these aliens will invoke Hive Mind, Bee People, Horde of Alien Locusts and a philosophy of We Have Reserves, Zerg Rush and Attack! Attack! Attack!.

Insectoid Aliens not based on eusocial insects also exist, and are much more likely to be individualistic or live in smaller societies. In cases where the eusocial insectoids are portrayed as The Empire, these may be more peaceful and perhaps form La Résistance. They may also be In Harmony with Nature, in contrast to the eusocial insectoid empire who feel a constant drive to expand. Alternatively, the eusocial insectoids may be portrayed more positively, in which case the individualist insectoids may instead be monstrous and animalistic or Always Chaotic Evil........."
Insectoid Aliens - TV Tropes

Another words they're almost like us ! Like the giant insecticides now attacking Ukraine!

And you thought the Russians attacking Ukraine were Humanoids? - Again the Russians fooled us!

A new NATO commander for Europe takes charge

Just one day after a historic two-day NATO summit in Madrid, the alliance swore in a new supreme allied commander and head of U.S. European Command (EUCOM).

At a change-of-command ceremony in Stuttgart, Germany, General Christopher Cavoli, the American four-star general who has been leading the U.S. Army in Europe, raised his right hand and received command of an expanding NATO that will soon have 300,000 active troops under his watch.

It will also have two new member states — Finland and Sweden — once all 30 NATO member parliaments vote to include them.

"Chris knows Europe better than any living officer in uniform today. Chris is literally purpose built to lead EUCOM," General Mark Milley, chairman of the Joint Chiefs, said during the ceremony, accompanied by Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin.

Austin thanked outgoing commander Gen Tod Wolters, who has overseen the transformation of NATO in the months since Russia invaded Ukraine Feb. 24.

"I believe that future generations will look back on how we all serve the cause of freedom at this pivotal moment," Austin said during the ceremony. "They all take inspiration from the resilience and the valor of the Ukrainian people. They'll take heart from the way that nations of goodwill rallied against Putin's aggression."

General Cavoli’s father served in the Army 32 years, retiring as a colonel. Christopher was born in Italy at a U.S. military base while his father served. He attended Princeton University and joined the Army as an infantryman with the 173rd Airborne Brigade in northern Italy.

This is an overlay of the Kelvedon Hatch Secret Nuclear Bunker, UK. The bunker is built 125 feet underground, is three stories deep and the entrance is through an ordinary bungalow. It can house 600 people for three months. You would never know it was there. What else is hiding in plain sight?

I grew up in former Yugoslavia back in 60's. And one thing that always awed me as a young man was freedom of the press in United States. Who can not remember that LIFE magazine cover photo of Vietnamese girl coming out of her village that was just burned. In particular, freedom of the press during the Vietnam war, when, from my perspective at least, it looked like as journalists in US had unlimited freedom to report anything they wanted from that war. I must say that even at that time journalists from UK seemed as they were all singing one song.

Then when war in Iraq started that perspective completely changed. Diversity in media reporting from both US and UK had dissipated and normally media outlets that were opposed to each other started sounding monolithic. And I was apprehensive on that 'monolithic' style, because I was growing up in communist regime, where 'monolithic' press was deemed normal and I had always had to make additional effort of reading between the lines to figure out what is really going on. I was just wandering what changed? Were there some new laws curbing press? We all know what happened to Julian Assange and George Galloway.

Just for a comparison here is one example of that 'unlimited' press coverage from Vietnam war era that you are free to compare with nowadays news coverage that all seems to be blowing into Ministry of Truth's trumpet:

Moment Russian ice hockey star Ivan Fedotov is forcibly enlisted in the Russian army and dragged off to fight in Ukraine after signing $1.1million deal with NHL team the Philadelphia Flyers

A Russian ice hockey player and Olympic silver medallist poised for a million-dollar move to the NHL has been detained on 'draft dodger' charges. Ivan Fedotov, 25 (right), was hauled to an enlistment office and could be sent to fight in Ukraine (top left). He was held by a squad of uniformed and plain-clothed police officers in St Petersburg yesterday (centre). The accusation of 'evading the army' is seen as revenge for his signing to play for NHL team the Philadelphia Flyers. Top goalkeeper Fedotov was formerly with CSKA - a club in the capital with close ties to the Russian military. Its name translates to Central Sports Club of the Army. A woman tried to get inside the ambulance but was pushed back. It's thought this was his mother. Fedotov's current whereabouts are unknown. Forces sent by Vladimir Putin (bottom left) have proved increasingly desperate to find recruits, with men as old as 49 allowed to enlist in the war.

First female Russian soldier is killed in Ukraine: Mother-of-two, 35, is buried as Putin's troops suffer another day of appalling war losses

Ukraine: First female Russian soldier is killed in war

Corporal Anastasia Savitskaya (pictured bottom left), 35, a married mother-of-two said to be a 'real hero', was buried today in her native Volgograd, a city on southwest Russia. Unlike some Western countries it remains rare for Russian servicewomen to go to war. Ukraine, for example, has seen several female soldiers join the fighting. A eulogy at the woman's funeral (shown left) said: 'A female warrior has always been an exception to the rule. But Anastasia, having mastered the 'home' front, went without fear to a dangerous special operation, accomplishing a double feat.' Her funeral was held as Vladimir Putin faced yet another day of appalling war losses among his high-ranking officers. In total, it is estimated Putin's forces have suffered more than 30,000 deaths, with some suggestions that the toll may be above 40,000.

Vladimir Putin's thugs are 'preparing an execution site' for British pair

Aiden Aslin and Shaun Pinner, who had joined the Ukrainian Army, were captured by Moscow's forces near Mariupol in April. Their predicament worsened last night when pro-Russian officials in the Donetsk People's Republic said they were 'preparing a place for their execution'. The chilling statement said the Britons would be killed by firing squad, with no prior warning given. The date of their executions will not be released in advance.

I know it's easy to say but I wouldn't cooperate with anything if I was imprisoned by Russia...

Briton, 28, facing death by firing squad in Ukraine is forced to sing the Russian anthem in his prison cell

Mr Aslin was captured alongside another Briton, Shaun Pinner, 48, in June, and kept in detention by pro-Moscow separatists. Both moved to Ukraine after 2016. The video is some proof he is alive. Unshaven and in shabby clothes, Aiden Aslin, 28, is seen standing and singing the State Anthem of the Russian Federation in a 140-second video posted on the internet by the Kremlin-backed RT news outlet.

Mystery as 'Russian soldiers are killed' in 'unexplained incident' at occupied Ukrainian nuclear power plant that left troops 'so scared they ran around the station in panic'

Russian soldiers have been killed and injured in a mysterious 'unexplained incident' at the occupied Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant in Ukraine, it has been claimed.

Dmytro Orlov, the mayor of Enerhodar where the station is based, said the troops were 'so scared that they ran around in a panic', with some now in intensive care in hospital.

The cause of the sudden hysteria is not known, although Putin's men had been using the power plant to store many of their weapons, including missile systems.

Russian soldiers have been killed and injured in a mysterious 'unexplained incident' at the occupied Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant in Ukraine

Russian soldiers have been killed and injured in a mysterious 'unexplained incident' at the occupied Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant in Ukraine The president of Ukrainian nuclear agency Energoatom had warned on Friday that the situation was 'extremely tense', with up to 500 Russian soldiers controlling the site.

'The occupiers bring their machinery there, including missile systems, from which they already shell the other side of the river Dnipro and the territory of Nikopol,' Petro Kotin said, referring to the city across the water.

'They physically control the perimeter. The occupiers' heavy machinery and trucks with weapons and explosives remain on the territory of the Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant,' he said.

According to Mayor Orlov, nine soldiers were taken to the local hospital with varying degrees of severity. He said: 'One of them was brought in in a serious condition and has been put in intensive care. 'Some have died but we cannot name their exact number at the moment.'

He continued: 'They were so frightened that they ran around the territory of the station in a panic, and blocked two shifts of operational personnel at the plant for a very long time instead of changing shifts as they were supposed to.'

The Zaporizhzhia plant, which creates around 20 per cent of Ukraine's electricity, was seized by Russian forces on March 4 and they now control the administrative buildings and the station.

Ukraine Invites Weapon Makers To 'Test Products' on Russian Forces

Ukraine's defense minister has urged the U.S. and other international partners to keep sending cutting-edge weapons to the war torn country, describing the battlefields as a valuable "testing ground" for new arms.

Oleksii Reznikov said on Tuesday that Ukraine's resolute defense against Russia's ongoing invasion showed Kyiv's forces are capable of handling the most modern and devastating weapons that NATO nations have to offer.

These include the U.S.-made HIMARS rocket artillery system partially credited with stabilizing the front line in the east and south in recent weeks, Reznikov said.

"Ukraine is now essentially a testing ground," Reznikov told an online Atlantic Council event. "Many weapons are now getting tested in the field in real conditions of battle against the Russian army, which has plenty of warning systems of its own."

Kyiv is sharing details of Russian electronic warfare, signals intelligence, air defense, missile technology and more with its international partners, Reznikov said.

"We are sharing all the information and experience with our partners," he explained. "We are interested in testing modern systems in the fight against the enemy, and we are inviting arms manufacturers to test new products here."

Reznikov noted Ukraine's significant use of American, French, and Polish artillery pieces, as well as Turkish drones, among other foreign-made systems. "It's a good chance to test their equipment," he added.

"Give us the tools, we will finish the job, you will have new information."
