The West has 'brought humankind to the brink of nuclear Armageddon' with its decision to use depleted uranium ammo in Ukraine, says Russia's US envoy

Russia's Ambassador to the US Anatoly Antonov was responding to statements by US officials that depleted-uranium munitions are a standard type of weapons that have been used for decades and do not pose any heightened risk. The British defense ministry on Monday confirmed it would provide Ukraine with armour-piercing rounds containing depleted uranium. 'Commenting on this kind of nonsense is really hard. US officials have reached a new low with their irresponsible statements. There is a continuous flow of lethal weapons to Ukraine, which are used to annihilate civilians, residential areas, schools, hospitals, kindergartens,' Antonov said, according to a statement from the embassy.
Russia is spreading western-manufactured misinformation (that depleted uranium is "nuclear" in nature). Depleted uranium rounds are of course not nuclear, as the uranium they are made out of is depleted of that which makes it useful for a nuclear purpose. They are purely ballistic munitions. Russia also has depleted uranium rounds in its own inventory, and I wouldn't be surprised if they have been using them in Ukraine already.

But this is another example of how western left-wing anti-defence industry activism has come to bite the movement, after it has made an about-face on the matter of warfare and armaments.

Iranian militants launch ANOTHER attack on U.S. forces in Syria as Biden in Canada says he is prepared to 'act forcefully' to defend Americans after Iranian-made drone killed US contractor

Iranian militants launched another attack on US forces in Syria after President Joe Biden ordered US forces to strike back in a tit-for-tat battle in the Middle East.

Speaking in Canada, President Biden issued his first comments Friday on the U.S. air strike in Syria in retaliation to a drone attack on a coalition base that left an American contractor dead and wounded six other Americans, including five servicemembers – saying the country was prepared to act 'forcefully' to protect its people.

His remarks, at the top of a joint press conference in Ottawa with Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, came after the Pentagon launched an investigation of the drone attack and an air defense system that failed to stop the drone, which crashed into the facility.

And it came amid nearly simultaneous reports that forces linked to Iran's Revolutionary Guard Corps had launched additional attacks targeting U.S. forces Friday, with one attack carried out with a rocket and the other with multiple drones. The number of casualties from the latest round of attacks has not been disclosed.

'Make no mistake, the United States does not – does not, emphasize – seek conflict with Iran, but be prepared for us to act forcefully to protect our people,' Biden said Friday.

'That's exactly what happened last night. We're going to continue to keep up our efforts to counter terrorist threats in the region and partnerships with Canada and other members of the coalition to defeat ISIS,' he said.

Biden referenced the 'several American casualties,' and said: 'One of our citizens tragically died that attack.'

Pentagon spokesman Air Force Gen. Pat Ryder, appearing shortly after Biden spoke, said the Defense Department was 'assessing' the reports of a new rocket attack targeting American forces near gas fields in Deir Ezzor in eastern Syria.

According to multiple reports, the conflict escalated Friday when two separate attacks were carried out by Iranian proxy forces against two US military bases, injuring multiple servicemembers. Multiple Iranian drones were used in one of the attacks, an official told Fox News, and the other was a rocket attack.

Biden also provided new details about his decision to order military action, amid a series of attacks and counter attacks that have raised fears of an escalating conflict. He said he gave the order aboard Air Force One.

..... somewhere last night just before bed when I was half awake I thought I saw Biden speaking clearly saying the media hyperbole over China and Russia has to be dialed way down, that it doesn't reflect reality.

First - Gramps speaking that clearly, second - Gramps saying something I agree with.

Was I dreaming?

Putin says Russia will station tactical nuclear weapons in Belarus as warning to west

Russian President Vladimir Putin on Saturday said the country planned to station tactical nuclear weapons in Belarus in retaliation for the U.K.’s decision to provide Ukraine with armor-piercing rounds containing depleted uranium.

Russia falsely claimed these rounds have nuclear components.

Putin said the construction of the storage facilities for the weapons in the Russian-allied country, which borders Ukraine and three NATO countries - Latvia, Lithuania and Poland - would be completed by the beginning of July.

Six Russian naval vessels 'were detected near site of Nord Stream pipeline five days before it was sabotaged'

A convoy of six Russian naval vessels were spotted near to the Nord Stream pipeline just five days before sabotage occurred, it was reported on Sunday.

Three of the four pipelines carrying Russian gas to Germany were seriously damaged by explosions near to the Danish island of Bornhom on September 26 last year, disrupting global supply.

Russia has always denied any responsibility for the attack, and blamed western powers or Ukrainian groups, but new information now suggests its ships were at least in the area in the days before the massive blasts.

It is thought that hundreds of kilograms of explosives and equipment would have been required to pull off the scale of the damage seen last September, which occurred 80m below sea level.

But it has now been claimed that a Swedish warship may have spotted the Russian convoy and tracked it, possibly being aware of it for as long as three days, The Times reports.

The Nord Stream 1 and 2 pipelines connecting Russia and Germany under the Baltic Sea were hit by a series of unexplained explosions last September, in what Moscow called an act of 'international terrorism'.

A report by open-source intelligence researchers now claims to have identified abnormal activity by a Danish patrol vessel and a Swedish warship which may suggest they had spotted suspicious activity.

The researchers say the ships appeared to have seen something unusual on September 22 or 23, when they were allegedly tracking a contingent of Russian naval ships which had broken away from a larger exercise three days before.

These claims, first revealed in the German news site t-online, originated from sources in the security services and detailed the convoy including two Russian tugs, a surveillance ship and a submarine rescue ship SS-750, built in 1990.

The SS-750 has its own mini-submarine, called the AS-26, which can reach depths of 80m and carry loads of up to 50kg.

'It would make absolute sense to use something like the 'AS-26' for such an attack,' Danish corvette captain and military analyst Johannes Riber told t-online. 'That would be the most plausible explanation so far for what happened to the Nord Stream pipeline.'

Navigation data that is publicly available can only back up part of the researchers' extensive logs, which track movements of Russian vessels including the SS-750.

I don't know where this post belongs, to AI thread or to Wars thread.

Since that report came out that 300 million of people worldwide ( mostly nice middle class people ) will lose jobs to AI, one thing become now much clearer. If there ever was a secret government consisting of Rothchild family members, investment funds directors etc. and they knew about AI impact before of everybody else and they were planning for it, they would certainly want to start world war.

What else can one do with 300 million unemployed? Either these unemployed are going to start constant protests and probably revolutions, or simply kill each other in the mud of some frontline. Decision time in a style of Saddam Hussein.

Another thing is, if 300 million people loses jobs, who's going to buy things. That's another recession on a top of existing recession.

AI is just the current evolution of technology that will disenfranchise a crapload of people. Believe me, I know what it's like to have an entire industry blown away quickly. I think that's the real problem here - it's going to come on precipitously fast.

You are assuming that, in the Rothschilds' calculations, the deaths will from warfare will substantially come from the 300 million unemployed and unemployable. Also that, in their thinking, the costs of such a war that removes a substantial proportion of these 300 million would be less than merely keeping them around. Regardless of how nefarious such a conspiracy might be, it would seem to me to be not worth banking on this outcome in the event of such a large-scale war. Any war that would leave around 300 million 'undesirables' dead would have an enormous amount of collateral damage that would certainly impact on the lives of billionaires.

History shows that wealth of billionaires will not suffer any damage during the war because there are plenty of "safe heavens" around the world where they can move their assets.

For example, before and during WWII all large German capitalists moved their money to Switzerland. Before WWII Switzerland was so poor that they used child labour, but during WWII Swiss become exceedingly rich exactly because they were safe heavens for "billionaire's" money. Second example are Ford's factories in Germany, that were renamed into Opel. These Ford/Opel factories were spared from bombing exactly because they belonged to American shareholders. And these factories were only bombed by error because whole bomber wing got lost in clouds. I'm not sure, but I think crews were even reprimanded for the error.

Second line of action for billionaires is actually financing war economy. They'll actually become even richer during the war by simply fulfilling huge weapons production contracts for governments.

I worked in telecom for decades at quite an advanced level. Lucrative. Far more to it than just heaving groaning PBXs locked away in the basement oozing dial tone. Then one day the plug was out of the tub and it all went away. Parts of it still exist but rather than be a standalone entity it became part of something else and is generally a secondary function. The business model changed - just as it will if AI makes the splash it appears to be capable of. You might be thinking that it was just normal progression and I wouldn't argue, the surprising thing was now fast happened and the direction some of it took. AI sounds like warp speed to me by comparison. In any decade if there is something that can replace human workers it'll be used if cost effective.

Technology up my ***. Now you know why I like to tinker with old machines.

Billionaires will no longer be rich if they are dead. Even if they can hold onto their wealth, their quality of life will be impacted. If I was a billionaire, I would have a vested interest in maintaining the status quo and my lifestyle. I would not want a global war intended to kill circa 300 million people (and probably many more, to make sure you kill the right 300 million).

Putin Immediately Surrenders After U.S. Airdrops Nashville Police Officers Into Battlefield

Putin Immediately Surrenders After U.S. Airdrops Nashville Police Officers Into Battlefield
WORLD·Mar 29, 2023 · BabylonBee.com
Article Image

BAKHMUT — In a stunning development, Russian President Vladimir Putin has announced an immediate and total surrender after he received word that the United States had airdropped a tactical team of Nashville Police officers into the battlefield.
"We are simply no match for such fearsome opponents," Putin said in a public address announcing the surrender. "We were prepared to face the entire Ukrainian military, armed with state-of-the-art American equipment and weapons, but when I heard they were calling in the Nashville Police, I knew we had no chance."

Following the widely applauded efforts of members of the Nashville Police Department in response to a horrific shooting, the heroic first responders have quickly become some of the most feared men in the world. "We are willing to do whatever is asked of us to avoid any involvement of these Nashville Police officers," Putin continued. "We all saw what a small group of them is capable of in a very short amount of time. Please, keep them away!" Putin was then interrupted by Sergeant Dan Smith who had just kicked down Putin's front door and yelled at him to get on the ground.

After Russia's surrender, reports of the willingness of other hostile regimes to scale down aggression around the globe began to filter in. The Taliban was rumored to be in discussion to return all U.S. military weaponry left behind by the Biden administration. Word was also spreading that Kim Jong-un was considering abandoning North Korea's nuclear weapons production.

At publishing time, when asked for a comment on the situation, the White House was only able to provide a brief statement President Biden gave about his favorite ice cream sundae toppings.

Wall Street Journal defends reporter after he's arrested by Russia on suspicion of espionage

The Wall Street Journal forcefully defended its reporter after he was arrested in Russia on allegations of espionage.

The Russian government's Federal Security Service said it had detained U.S. citizen and WSJ reporter Evan Gershkovitch in the city of Yekaterinburg and accused him of spying on behalf of the U.S. government.

Gershkovich is "suspected of spying in the interests of the US government," the FSB said in a statement reported by state news agency RIA Novosti. The FSB added his "illegal activities" "have been suppressed."

The Russian government agency claimed it arrested the journalist while he was "trying to obtain secret information," "on the activities of one of the enterprises of the Russian military-industrial complex."

The FSB Investigation Department opened a criminal case under the article for espionage, RIA Novosti reported.

The paper defended their reporter and denied Russia's allegations in a statement.

"The Wall Street Journal vehemently denies the allegations from the FSB and seeks the immediate release of our trusted and dedicated reporter, Evan Gershkovich. We stand in solidarity with Evan and his family," The WSJ's Senior Communications Manager Caitlyn Reuss wrote.

The Journal said Gershkovich reported on Russia as part of the paper's Moscow bureau. He is accredited to work as a journalist in Russia by the country’s foreign ministry, the FSB said as well.

Gershkovich was previously a reporter for Agence France-Presse and the Moscow Times and a news assistant at the New York Times, his WSJ bio says.

Reporters face up to 15 years in prison if they report what authorities deem as false reports about the military, according to a new Russian law. The legislation was passed by both chambers of the Russian parliament.

Some outlets like BBC News have suspended reporting from within the country due to the law, citing safety concerns.

Leaked Pentagon docs reveal US is spying on its ALLIES while agents are deeply embedded in Russian intelligence and Putin's army is ravaged after a year of fighting in Ukraine

Leaked Pentagon documents show spies infiltrated Kremlin - while US is spying on its
The documents, which provided the clearest picture yet of the Kremlin's depleted military capacity, were telling as to the extent of which US espionage tactics have effectively penetrated Vladimir Putin's war machine. However, the intelligence breach, which included reports from late February to early March but have only been leaked online in recent days, unearthed probes in a variety of nations, including South Korea, Iran and the UK, per the Wall Street Journal. Now, US military officials are able to provide real-time warnings to their Ukrainian counterparts about impending strikes in exact locations, indicating an exhaustive understanding of the conflict as it stands. While the leak underscored America's ability to penetrate Moscow's upper echelons, it has also sparked fears that Russian intelligence may now have a clearer understanding of exactly what the US does and does not already understand, providing an opportunity to cut off sources of information. The leak comes amid speculation that a wave of classified document leaks could be being orchestrated by Russia, in what was described as 'a nightmare for the Five Eyes' - a reference to the intelligence sharing agency.

United Kingdom still negotiating with Taliban for three Brits in custody, including 'danger tourist'

The British government remains locked in discussions with the Taliban to ensure the safe return of three British nationals, including a "danger tourist."

"If there are risks to people's safety, if they're a British citizen abroad, then the UK government is going to do whatever it takes to ensure that they're safe," Home Secretary Suella Braverman told Sky News earlier this week. "The government is in negotiations and working hard to ensure people's safety is upheld."

"If there are problems and if there are safety concerns to British individuals abroad, then the FCO will be working actively to ensure people are safe," she said when asked directly about negotiations over the three individuals.

YouTube blogger Miles Routledge, charity medic Kevin Cornwell and an unnamed British hotel manager have been arrested and held in prison, the latter two since January while Routledge was allegedly arrested on March 2 alongside two Polish nationals.

Routledge posted a photo on his subscriber-only Patreon blog and wrote, "Yo guys, been taken by Afghan intelligence for taking like $1000 out of Western Union (sus amount). No internet, no idea when this will send, everything is good but please excuse my lack of communication."

A friend told the Daily Mail that Routledge had also written that he would see "a few days of questioning," but then posted no further message since March 8.

The friend told the Mail that he was "very worried for Miles" and noted that the messages had posted on March 8 but were time stamped for March 2, making it possible someone had activated his phone at the later date and allowed them to automatically post.

Routledge previously required help from the British government in August 2021 when he was on holiday in Afghanistan and got caught up in the chaos that followed the U.S. military withdrawal.

He luckily managed to make it onto a British Army airlift, but appeared to decide it was worth returning to the country at just one year later.

Scott Richards, who is assisting the other two Brits, told Sky News that he believed they were in good health and treated well, but he admitted he has had "no meaningful contact" and "no access" for international monitoring agencies.

Cornwell stands accused of having an illegal firearm in the safe he keeps in his room, but his family said he had a license for the weapon. Richards speculated the license may have been overlooked during the search.

The Taliban did not respond to a Fox News Digital request for comment by the time of publication.

Choas in Sudan amid an attempted coup as government fighter jets fire missiles over capital as fears mount of a wider conflict

Brutal fighting has continued to rage in Sudan between the military and a powerful paramilitary force after months of tensions between rival factions spiralled into an attempted coup on Saturday.

Fierce clashes broke out across the capital Khartoum and the sister city of Omdurman as fighters from both sides shot from armored vehicles and fired machine guns mounted on pick-up trucks within densely populated areas.

Armoured tanks were seen rolling into Khartoum as the military launched strikes from fighter jets and drones at paramilitary positions in and around the capital.

So far at least 25 people have been killed and 183 others injured in the ongoing clashes, the Sudanese Doctors' Union reported. The British Embassy in Khartoum has warned nationals to stay indoors.

The brutal scenes serve as a new blow to the country's hopes of a transition to democracy and have raised fears of an even wider conflict. The intense clashes sparked global calls for calm in a country which has seen decades of unrest.

The sound of heavy firing could be heard throughout Saturday across Khartoum and Omdurman, where the military and the RSF have amassed tens of thousands of troops since the coup.

Two people were killed at Khartoum airport, four in neighborhing Omdurman, eight in the city of Nyala, six in the city of El Obeid and five in El Fasher, the Sudanese Doctors' Union said.

The paramilitary RSF groups said they were in control of the presidential place as well as Khartoum airport, claims denied by the army, as civilian leaders called for an immediate ceasefire to prevent Sudan's 'total collapse'.

At risk of starting WW3 if they follow through with this...NATO is arrogant and hostile IMO...

All NATO allies have AGREED Ukraine will become a member: Alliance chief reveals huge boost for Zelensky

NATO Secretary-General Jens Stoltenberg today said all members of the military alliance have agreed that Ukraine will join NATO in a major boost for Volodymyr Zelensky.

The NATO chief said that Ukraine must have 'the deterrence to prevent new attacks' from Russia once the war ends - and joining NATO would give Kyiv protection.

Stoltenberg said the NATO allies had agreed that Ukraine would eventually become a member of the alliance and that Zelensky had been invited to attend the next NATO summit in July.

But Stoltenberg, who met Zelensky in Kyiv yesterday, added that the main focus now is to ensure that the country prevails against Russia.

Stoltenberg acknowledged the need to discuss 'new platforms' of support with the battle now in its second year. He also underlined the necessity of ensuring that already supplied weapons continued to work.
