When I was growing up average humidity was about 9 to 15 % depending on the year. Now it tends to be about 16%. If it gets up to 30% it is uncomfortable for me. We use swamp coolers here so if the humidity gets over 30% the coolers don't work. In the 50's a lot of people in the eastern humid climates who had asthma were told to move to the south west to get out of the humidity. The altitude is a lot higher too.

I regularly go to the mountains in the summer at about 3600 ft elevation and the humidity stays around 50 to 60 percent up there...Here where I live is an elevation of about 500ft and the summer humidity is higher many days but running the ac in the house keeps it down around 50%...During the winter I have humidifiers I run to keep the house from drying out from running heat, I usually maintain a 40 to 50 percent humidity in the house during wintertime...My body is too accumulated for humid climates, my skin dries out really bad if the humidity is too low for extended periods of time...

Albuquerque is a mile high and more. from about 5000 ft above sea level to about 6000 ft. The lowest point in New Mexico is a a bluff next to a river at 2842 feet above sea level. Our highest point is Wheeler peak at 13,167 feet.

Very warm weather were having this week in my area of NC, today a high of 75, tomorrow forecast to be 82, and the weekend in the high 70s...Next week temps look like they're going to return to pre-springtime levels, highs in the mid 60s and lows in the mid to high 30s...

Going to take advantage of this warm trend this week and take a drive to the mountains for a day, likely on Saturday but maybe tomorrow...

We had some thunderstorms earlier today, but now the wind has picked up really strong, up to 40mph gusts thst keep knocking the power off...My dog is freaking out because the lights keep going out every 20 minutes or so...

Cold weather is coming back this week, its a lot cooler today then it has been last week and by Thursday and Friday we have a forecast low of 25 degrees and a high of 45 degrees...I went to town today and filled up on propane for the heaters...

It's a rainy cool day today, high about 58 degrees, it's been raining all day thus far and looking like it's going to continue until nightfall...This is the first rain we've had in ten to twelve days so it's welcomed, I'll be mowing the grass tomorrow and tilling the garden one more time on Monday before planting...

Yesterday it was 99 in the shade, 105+ in the direct sun. Today it was in the high 80's and overcast.

It was 106 F/41 C in the shade today and maybe 114 F in the direct sun a week before the official start of summer. I heard on the radio it could go as high as 120 and the person was laughing as if her controllers are causing it.

It was 104 here yesterday but the humidity got high in the afternoon so the swamp cooler was barely helpful. It was cloudy and windy late in the afternoon. I checked the weather channel and they had the wrong data, said it was 99 degrees and 5 % humidity, but they were way too low on both counts.

Today I was proactive and lowered the shades on the porch and closed everything up. I turned the cooler on because at 8 AM it was already 79 degrees in the kitchen. I hope the humidity stays low today.

The western part of the US is certainly in a drought and heatwave, over here on the eastern side we had low 80s today, 45 percent humidity and sunny skies...Been outside working all day and it wasn't overly hot...Tonight temps drop to 55 degrees, tomorrow more of the same, lows 80s temps...

It is as hot here today as it was yesterday. My work area is 84 degrees but it is 104 outside and the humidity is just a little lower than yesterday. The swamp cooler is not helping.

We are having some wonderful weather lately, high of 77 today with a forecast low of 56 tonight...Its rare to have temps in the 70s in the month of June but three days now in just the past week and the next two days are forecast to be in the high 70s...

It has been cooler here. In the high 90's then it cools down fast after sundown.

The forecast for Thursday and Friday is for a high of 80 degrees. A perfect time to mow the lawn.

Not for me, I couldn't live in a dry climate, well I could, but it would be miserable for me lol...I'm too accumulated to wetter, more humid climates...
