We have those alerts too. Here is a map I found. It looks bad, especially for the Northwest and West coast, but there are fires in the south too.

Here's the temperature and humidity at the moment, 3680ft. elevation at close to 8pm...To me its pleasant, and I'm glad I brought blankets, tonight the temp is forecast to drop to about 50 degrees...

There was an article in the news paper this morning that said the weather is going to get hotter and drier in the next 50 years according a state geologist, Neila Dunbar.

We just had a big storm with about 20 minutes of hard rain and heavy winds. Thunder still sounding in the distance to the west.

We (in West Yorkshire,UK) were told that we would get heavy rain today. That was a few days ago. So far no rain, and it looks as if it may skirt across the country to our South.

Water butts are getting low. Soon have to use town water on the plants.

We're over the hump already. Plenty of nice weather still in the pipeline but mid-August is when you have to break out the sweatshirts and jackets in the evening. Actually chilly this morning.

Its rained for about 30min earlier then the sun came out for about an hour and now more rain...Its coming down hard right now, but me and the dog are dry in our tent...

It was a lot cooler today with overcast skies.

We got rain yesterday afternoon. It is cloudy today again but I don't think it will rain any more. Just muggy, but at least the temperature is under 85 degrees.

Hot again today...90f...off to the local nice eatery to have sauteed lake perch and frog legs .

We had a long period of heat here in Finland lasting 4 weeks almost. 29-31 celsius on days and on nights it usually was around 20 c. If you think thats not that much, keep in mind this is a northern european and nordic country. It was very unusual, probably signs that we have broken the planet and more like this is to come.

This is gonna be a bad one, a severe thunderstorm popped up and creeping my way...The winds are really picking up, lightning everywhere, I can hear the rain coming down heavy in the distance...Me and the dog are hunkered down in the tent to ride it out, the car is a half mile away so thats not an option at this point...I like a good storm as long as they're not tearing up stuff lol, the dog however is trembling at my feet...

It's overcast and just a nice 80 degrees at 13:53.

We have gone from 5 degrees C to 16 today so that's promising .

We're going back into the 30's Celsius this week, sort of. Like today for example it says that the temp. right now is 26C, but feels like 29C . Some days this week will actually be in the 30's though.

I hope my AC handles it better this time round.
