That was a lot of snow throwing! Up over my knees in spots. I make all sorts of trails going way out back, probably a couple hundred yards of them, so Pie can conduct her dog business. How you you like to have to tramp through snow up to your ears just to take a dump?

Missed work today, my car is frozen in place in my driveway, 3 inches of snow and an unknown amount of ice...My road hasnt been plowed nor driven on yet and the main road hasn't been plowed, although a few cars have attempted to drive on it only to get stuck...

...

Just looked at the forecast. Ten below zero weather on the way and another 12"-15" of snow Sunday .................................

They still can't decide if we're going to get a 'cyclone bomb' or whatever stupid term they've applied to the next big storm. Maybe starting Saturday maybe not, the storm hasn't decided yet itself.

Farmer's Almanac said this would be a rough, long winter and they were right. The groundhogs are totally frozen and buried two feet down or more and I highly doubt Punxsutawney Phil will have any useful prediction next week.

They're right this season, we still are below freezing with temperatures and now a 'blizzard' (weatherman's choice of word) on its way this weekend with more snow and ice...Wonderful...

I think its going to bounce off you and miss us.

This is just brutal, especially for girl dog who has to go out and poop on the ice. Brrrrr !

Its been snowing for a few hours now, starting to get heavier snow fall, three inches and counting...We are forecast to get 8 to 10 inches and this happens to be my weekend to work, so I'm at work for the time being...If it begins to look like I may get snowed in I am heading home, I'm 9 miles away, my distance driving to work, not a bad commute...I told my wife, worse case I will walk home if I cannot drive...

...

We've got 10 inches of snow and counting, I left work a few hours ago, the roads are really bad, nothing has been plowed yet...Doubtful I will make it in to work tomorrow...

...

Over a foot of snow out there, took my dog out this morning and found out first hand when we both stepped in it lol...The whole area is quiet, no cars, nothing, snow covering everything...It stopped around midnight last night, forecast low tonight MINUS 6 degrees...I don't remember the last time temps dropped below zero in this area...So all this snow and the 2 inches of ice under it from the previous winter storm will be around for a while...Everything will remain frozen...

The Snow Miser has been beating the crap out of the Heat Miser lately hasn't he?

It's a balmy 8 degrees out there now or a little below but the wind is shaking the entire house. I'll have to pull the Olds out and bring the snow thrower up into the garage and put a heat lamp on it a while to change out one of the trigger cables. The whole machine is frozen solid still from last week's monster storm.

We got another 3 inches of snow overnight, almost couldn't get out of the driveway this morning to go to work...But I did and here I am at work, I have the next three days off though, so this is my Friday lol...

...

We get enough warming sun to cause a melt even when the air temp is low. I'm waiting for that monstrosity to tear itself off the fascia. The work we are having done this summer to the house should help with this sort of thing, all that will be replaced and the soffits properly vented.

It's been roughly 0 F overnight for the last week plus. Sunday/Monday are supposed to drop to more than 10 below! In weather like this my bare hand sticks to the doorknob, the trash can lid, etc ..............

We were just outside shoveling away about two inches of snow. The wind is screaming and the 'real feel' is between 15 and 20 degrees below zero. Supposed to be like this until Tuesday.

Half the snow and ice has melted here, except in my gravel driveway which i can only drive on a portion of it because of all the snow and ice built up...We are supposed to have higher temps next week, up into the mid 60s that should melt all this crap away and get back to our 'normal' winter programming...

Here we go again. 'Epic Nor'Easter' 'historic blizzard'

They're calling for 12-18" of snow and the problem is the temps are only in the low 30s so we'll get a wet mixed heavy mess. The 24" we just got was light and fluffy because it was much, much colder.

My mother in law is in Long Island visiting her sister and will get snowed in...She said no one told her about this blizzard, but she also did not check the weather before flying up there...Looks like an extended stay in Long Island...

IMO the best part of a visit to Long Island is leaving Long Island.

I have a good friend on the south shore that is going to get walloped, theoretically worse than here. It's just above freezing and the ground is already saturated, with the heavy snow this is when trees flop over and knock down electric lines. Central Hudson has excellent response time and line crews but an extended outage is my primary concern as its happened before. I think we were out 8 or 9 days once which is why I have a generator in the first place.

We got about a foot of snow and as predicted it's heavy and wet and a stone bitch to clear. Really high winds, as in 'take you right off your feet' type winds making for whiteouts. It'll snow all day but the major accumulations appears to be over.

Snow throwers are not exactly user friendly and in crap like this you really have to horse the thing around, quite the upper body workout. I was out there for three hours and two full tanks of fuel. It's my best buddy right now and I am glad for it but ooooofta.
