What got you into Aliens

I'll be honest here, I'm only interested in what they have that I don't. I've seen both saucers and a triangle, but I never saw either of these vehicles as alien vehicle: They quite clearly look like human made machines; like USAF machines to be precise.

As near as I can tell, the best evidence I know of that aliens exist are crop circles because of the information some of these have contained, and which otherwise isn't in the interest of the ruling elites to advertise. On the other hand, if they know we are all being fooled and deceived, as they have plainly stated, then how difficult is it for them to simply teleport the offenders to another location, like say the core of the Sun?

A lot of things don't add up, don't make sense in this control and rule paradigm unless you also add in there's a reason they can't just teleport these offending jackasses to the Suns' Core, and the only thing I can really come up with is that the rulers we have right now are not humans so they have some sort of technological counter to keep themselves where they are.

Maybe they're not allowed to kill because it might mess up the future?

As for the so called, "rulers"? They may start out as human, but power seems to drain all the humanity from every one of them, eventually.

Seems to me that it's been that way since the beginning of time.

Awesome observations, but I think you nailed it when you talk about power being evil because it is corruptive.
Really you're describing a philosophy which describes the difference between good and evil. In other words if you
do what they do, then you will sink to a lower level and become them.

If there's one thing we are lacking in our world it is to recognize that power is fundamentally evil.

Over here talking about reincarnation and the blending of the spirit as a kind of fluid.
Reincarnation

Thus what I see is that if we struggle between good and evil, it is that if evil can create more and more evil in people, then eventually the reincarnative spirits will become completely evil. This seems to be related to what we are talking about rather oddly.

I doubt politics is only on earth
my guess is that there are rules aliens have to follow.
likely they are part of some treaty or truce with others, or maybe some group like the UN is on earth
it is why they have this strange way of telling us what they are going to do to us in some obscure way so that we never notice. that sort of thing seems like they are trying to match some sort of legal requirement (if it were a moral thing they would tell more openly)
so, telephoning others into the sun will likely get them in trouble

seems like this topic might need its own thread

I'm confused, CasualBystander. August already stated her reason.

Why did you ask again?

And since I'm here anyway... what got you interested in Aliens?

I must have thought she was being rhetorical.

I am sort of puzzled that there are all these sightings (the 2004 Navy sighting is particularly good) but no hard evidence.

If I saw a UFO crash I would grab pieces and find someone with a mass spectrometer to tell me what it was.

Nobody does this. And it is hard to find clean pictures and video.

I've driven a lot at night in rural areas and haven't seen anything usual.

But if I do, I won't be posting blurry pictures and shaky video.

Which reminds me - we should have a thread on camera equipment (including smartphones) and photographic techniques so people do a better job.

Hard to tell why I got interested, I'm generally curious about everything.

Oh they do it but here in the US and the European Countries, the ones behind the Corporate Curtain, well they never tell us about it and then anyone who does abscond with an artifact is hunted down and murdered.

Meanwhile in Russia, they actually do collect, investigate and make public what they know.

I know a person that took a picture with a cell phone of something he should not have,
it was just flying over him...
he copied the picture to his computer, (this was the era before smart phones).
the next day the picture was not on his computer, so he went back to his phone that he had on him the entire time, and that picture was gone as well.
no one ever hurt him or even told him not to talk about it.

Ok, lets explain how this is done.

You take a picture of a UFO.

You copy the pictures to an SD card. You pull the SD card out and save it.

You print a couple copies.

If this "disappearance" still happens we are dealing with something above my pay grade.

You do realize that if you show a copy, it will be considered tampered with and that people will demand to see the original?

IMO, photos and videos are no longer accepted as proof. I used to think they would be acceptable until I saw that video of the eagle snatching a toddler from a playground. It looked so real to me. Even the shadows were perfect. It turned out to be some kind of school project.

UPDATE: This video is a hoax produced by Antoine Seigle, Félix Marquis-Poulin, Loïc Mireault and Normand Archambault, students at Centre NAD Details: http://bit.ly/VQ5rMw

Honestly, UFOs and aliens are the element of the paranormal that I have become most skeptical of... for whatever reasons I find it easier to accept the idea of say ghosts. I think all of the phony claims just burned me out. The more you pay attention to some of this stuff, the more it unravels.

But, UFOs and aliens are also very intriguing.

I think I got interested because it was a big topic when I was a kid in the 1970s. I watched In Search Of... and Project UFO faithfully. Bigfoot totally fascinated me, and the Bermuda Triangle. I grew up in Ohio, near Wright Patt - in fact, because my dad was in the military I went to Wright Patt for my medical care when I was young. Eventually hearing the stories that there was a recovered saucer at Wright Patt, well, it used to drive me crazy wondering if it were true.

Another thing that made UFOs seem more real to me, a family friend gave me a bunch of UFO magazines in 1975 or so. It turned out that one of them had a photo in it that the father of one of my neighborhood friends had submitted - the dad of a girl who lives across the street. And he had taken the photo in our neighborhood. I can't even remember the picture now, it was just lights in the sky, I feel like maybe one was on a triangular looking object. Nothing earth shaking, not even a great picture probably, but to the kid I was it made UFOs seem real.

I go through cycles of interest in the paranormal and about 10 years ago I got really into podcasts and found myself reading a lot again about UFOs. It actually wound up making me less of a believer rather than more. But like I say it's still interesting stuff. I can certainly imagine or hope there is life somewhere else out there, and I find the thought it may have visited Earth in the past especially intriguing. Of course it has to be said if we're talking aliens / ETH, I feel like aliens could be to us the way we may be to some insects, just a different order of life, incomprehensible.

OK sorry for the long-winded post! It's interesting stuff but I have found a lot of claims and stories ultimately disappointing.

I have never had any personal experiences with sightings or the like; if I had I think I would be much more interested.

Umm.

A file is just a collection of bytes. A copied file in a different location is the same collection of bytes in a new place.

If you zip the file it is a compressed copy that retains the original creation and modification dates when it is unpacked.

Then we get to checksums which is the next issue.

A checksum is a computation of all the bytes that yields a unique number - this is done to verify that the file is unaltered.

But, bottom line, a zipped copy of the file on an SD card is no less original than the original file.

I meant to start with, ...I don't know what an SD card is...

Sorry about that.

SD Card is a "Secure Digital" data card.

Your phone and camera use SD Cards for storage.

The standard SD card isn't used that much (everyone uses micros).

Standard SD Card:
5428700_sd.jpg;maxHeight=640;maxWidth=550

Micro SD Card with Adapter.

3695074_sd.jpg;maxHeight=640;maxWidth=550

My smartphone uses micro SD cards and I have a 16 GB card installed.

The standard SD card is about thumb sized.

I'm not a gadget junkie like most nowadays.

My phone plugs into the wall at home and my camera is a 30 year old Kodak that uses film and flashcubes.

But, I thank you for the update on the above. :)
