No listen to things on you tube all the time.....wasn't talking about you tube.

But then there are a lot of things on you tube that I find hysterical.

Censorship isn't funny though. These people are concerned that 10,000 Moderators are stopping them having legitimate views to expunge their own Far Left Wing agendas. That can't be good.

Bear in mind you tube is privately owned and can censor what ever it wants.....so this clown is saying all 10,000 moderators are "liberals".....lol.

Yes your right , 'devolved', I never thought of that one. So your saying the human element in this is flawed ? If it was controlled by the AI then they would sort it out even more and there would be few allowed humans to use it. It will become an AI only entity.
Well I think the human element is incredibly biased and influenced by money, politics, religion, social norms. If it were controlled by an AI with independence to all those things I think it would be much better.

I think its got a lot to do with the Millennials myself. The AIs will not have to worry about those people , some of them do not know who won the American Civil war and they thought Lincoln was a Democrat.

I agree a lot of the people who were born in the early 1990s and since do seem to be a bit confused on several topics.

However, I've noticed that age doesn't really have any say in those who choose to remain ignorant.

I blame their teachers actually .

People choosing to remain ignorant is their fault......not the teachers. But the systems do need to be worked on in numerous countries.

I have also noticed that those that were born after the late 1980s or 1990 don't know how to use a map or navigate without using their gps or smart phone. Most don't even put their damn phones down.....lol.

Yes they don't, a lot of people get run over not paying attention to what is going on around them. They have a fine here for that, if your caught using a phone by the CCTVs that are like everywhere. I tend to disagree about the teachers their skill levels are not much above their students. Can't spell , don't know stuff, its been in decline for years. Its like a worldwide dumbing down of people generally.

Maybe that's the way it is down your way.....but its now how it is in my area based on the teachers I've known.

Not done down my way at all. Our school system is superior to the American one. I am talking about Tasmanian education system here, not the Mainland one. Vast majority of Americans are Myopic. I am not really sure where they get that from , maybe your insular lifestyles maybe ?

I have had four kids in the school system now since about 1996, from kinder through to High school and uni and uni twice for me. I can tell you I nearly threw a party in 2016 when my youngest got his VCE and it was over.
I have made no secret of my utter disdain for teachers here in Australia. Primary school was dumping ground for poorly educated student teachers who could barely do the math and English they were teaching. Then it was overpowered by do-gooding parent teacher association folks that were more interested in the kids eating yogurt for play lunch and they themselves had bugger all understanding or even awareness of the shortcomings of Primary Education in Victoria. Public High school was chaos incarnate. Again, student teachers on a round robin that made each class a catch up with the substitute teacher of the month. They had little to no control over the kids. And again, the school concert at the end of the year received more attention than daily classes. The teachers were arrogant and unapproachable if you questioned anything.
My ex and I were told we had a mandatory attendance for one of my boys year 9 English teacher on parent teacher night. So we arrived. I took one look at the teacher and looked at my son questioningly. He shrugged and looked back. The teacher was concerned about two missing assignments, fair enough. But then went on to criticize my son because he sometimes wore the wrong shoes and left his tie off, out of uniform. At this I cracked.
Let me first describe My W's attire on parent teacher night.

Moleskin jeans with the cuffs tucked into embossed cowboy boots.
A checked shirt with e floral, hippie sleeveless vest.
A cowboy hat with an over large feather in the brim.
And a waxed mustache the looked for all the world like captain hooks.
I shit you not, he looked like one of the three musketeers.

When he complained about his uniform I stood up and said, you have to be kidding. We walked over to the principles desk and I said.
I will make sure my son catches up with his missing assignments.
(Pointing) I said however tell Dartanion over there when he decides to dress appropriately to his position.
Then we can talk about my sons shoes and tie. Until then he to say nothing to my son about a uniform.
I could add 100 horror stories...

When I went to UNI, as an honors student I had to do several years of Tutoring. While I admit, it is a far cry from a tutor to a lecturer, it did give me a look into the other side of the fence.
Most of the UNI lecturers found teaching an absolute chore. They had to divide their time between students and there own studies, be it PHD, Masters or whatever. They resented the students as a hassle and a necessary evil. They were flippant with marking, failing students they did not like on a whim, and cutting slack to those they liked.
On many occasions I tried to point out that they were playing with peoples lives, and marking a student harder than they should can sometimes effect the choices available for the rest of their lives. Most did not give a dam.
All they wanted was to get the annoying teaching bit out of their day and go on to their respective research projects.

In short, I would not give you 20 cents for the Australian Education system

Hi August, wasn't making a comparison. I know absolutely zero about the US system. I have had no experience with it at all. About all I have noticed is there seems to be a big difference between the haves and have nots over there. If you don't have money, you don't get a top education. Whereas here you can go to the best uni in the country so long as you get the entry score. Its not about $$ as we have HECS. Other than that. I wouldn't have a clue.
It might be way worse or way better??? I just know I have seen almost nothing good in ours. Don't get me wrong, there have been a few awesome really caring switched on teachers over the years, but overall it has been a hellish experience.
