These are called Iridescent Clouds- known as "fire rainbows" or "rainbow clouds"
This is a diffraction phenomenon caused by small water droplets or ice crystals individually scattering light.

A few months ago I read a story about the insanity that is Himalayan mountain climbing. Expedition companies line up clients to try and get them to the top of a mountain like Everest. The photo shown is what happens when you try to get a hundred people to the top. There are logjams when climbers are waiting for their five minutes at the top. It isn’t any wonder that there are accidents just waiting to happen.

Clients, some off them untrained in climbing, are paying tens of thousands of dollars to say they got to the top. The government of Nepal are whores for money and don’t really care about safety factors. You will see more and more of these mountaineering accidents until changes are made.

Yes it stinks they were all trashing the mountain and risking everyone's safety. A traffic jam of people at 8,850 meters is not a good idea.

Wow must get these.

Easy reads. Thin Air is sort of the benchmark and it talks about tourism, garbage, traffic jams. Sagarmartha is probably grateful for covid.

Bear's story was very interesting. He broke his back in a military parachute accident and climbed the mountain as part of his recovery.
