How is The Coronavirus affecting your life?

The one time I forgot my mask I saw one blowing down the street so I chased it, I got it, I donned it infront of a few people, I think one of them knew it was a castaway, that's how it felt anyway. I'll do literally anything to get it done. Had a bit of lippy in it , which was kind of a relief.

My in laws went to the Rhinelander cabin.
My father in law much to my constant teasing has a years worth of storable food at the cabin . "Just in case." They dropped by to say good bye to the kids.
They quietly told us "Don't expect us for Christmas or Thanksgiving." It was a hard parting but they do what they need to do.

My life is actually better now. People are wanting to be healthier and eat organic. This brings more demand for produce and more income. Thankfully a virus stand very little chance of affecting me. I remain healthy due to a robust immune system due to healthy eating, no pHarma drugs or vaccines. I don’t wear masks because rebreathing body waste and CO2 over and over is not the way our bodies were designed and can “waken” dormant viruses that are already suppressed including other strains of coronavirus.
I am also happy to see a whole new group of people questioning the “safety tests” and science (or lack of) of vaccines. People should be well informed if something is to be mandated.

Didn't you say it would be closed until 2022/2023?

Did I say that (?) if I did then sorry it was International flights until then. State borders are now open except for Victoria and New South Wales. WA, SA, Canberra ( ACT ) and NT and Queensland can all come here now.

“‘The average healthy person does not need to have a mask, and they shouldn’t be wearing masks,’ Dr. Perencevich said. ‘There’s no evidence that wearing masks on healthy people will protect them. Do N95 respirators provide 95% protection level against airborne viruses, and how adequate are surgical masks?

“Viral particles, or virions, are one of the smallest known bioaerosol agents, with a particle diameter ranging from 20 to 300nm.”

Regarding the size of virions and penetration of N95 masks:

“Similar results were reported by Martin and Moyer, who found that the maximum penetration of particles through the fiber-charged N95 respirators occurred in the 50- to 100-nm size range. Thus it should be emphasized that the certified N95 respirators will protect their wearers properly against the particles of 300 nm and larger, but their performance may be be- low the threshold for aerosol particles of the nanosize range.”

For one of the surgical masks tested, “the penetration increases with increasing particle size to 84.5% for particles of 80 nm in diameter…”

“The penetration data presented in this paper were obtained using manikin-based tests. Thus, the respirators and surgical masks were sealed to the manikin’s face. Such procedure eliminated the leakages, which can occur when a subject wears the personal respiratory protection devices. In real life, the leaks may lead to considerably increased particles penetration. ...without proper fit testing,

the wearer of a respirator cannot achieve the desired protection level.”

“The results indicate that N95-certified respirators may not necessarily provide a proper protection against virus, which is considerably smaller than the accepted most penetrating particle size of 300 nm used in the certification tests.”

“The N95 filtering face piece respirators may not provide the expected protection level against small virions. Some surgical masks may let a significant fraction of airborne viruses penetrate through their filters, providing very low protection against aerosolized infectious agents in the size range of 10 to 80 nm.”

The point of masks is not to stop you getting it, but to stop you spraying your infection everywhere else. The logic behind it is pretty easy to prove works... Get a mask (a real one, not one of those shit neck guards or mesh masks I see idiots use), and run it under a tap.
It'll hold a lot before leaking, think of it as a nappy for your face so your shit doesn't get on everyone else.

I've not been that affected by COVID, well, other than my neighbour dying from it. They moved us all to working from home mid-March, and we're here until at least 2021. Will probably stay like this until there's a vaccine, or permanently if it turns out people like working like this like I do.

Your turn now. My family out there has acted if nothing's wrong and it sounds like it's come home to roost.

FWIW - here in NY in March and April they told everyone with second homes and cabins upstate to stay away from them. They didn't want people from infected areas coming in and overloading the medical facilities of remote areas. People did whatever they wanted anyway and to my knowledge, the wave of zombie madness never happened.

A remote cabin in upstate WI sounds pretty good to me right now, and that has nothing to do with covid.

Masks are unhealthy and do nothing. If you believe they work and you are wearing one then there are no worries about others not wearing them. Right?

No, as I said they only help limit you transmitting it to others. If selfish people surrounding you aren't bothering, then you have no personal protection and instead are only limiting yourself spreading it to others.

I'm in my late 20s so I'm not particularly concerned with my own health as far as COVID goes - but I do not want to be a transmission vector and have other less healthy peoples deaths as a result of my own selfishness.

The thing I notice is most anti-maskers come from countries who are doing an absolutely piss poor job of it, like the US or here in the UK. Countries who are doing decent wear their masks and are faring much better than we are.

Also a mask minimizes exposure, a 'limited' or 'smaller' exposure of covid and the individual will likely have milder symptoms and recover well, however a bigger dose or open exposure to covid might put the individual in the hospital, depending of course on age and health factors...

Honestly, not really. After nearly 10 years posting at AU, then AH - I've come to conclusion that a lot of debates are ineffective. Instead I type to reach out to the ones on the fence. :D

It'll be a waste of both of our times. If you deny the reality of germ theory, and how said germs can be physically seen under a microscope, there's a lot of foundational knowledge missing which'll make it akin to debating time zones with a flat earther.
