Post images of UFO sightings here, sometimes there isn't much information to go with the photos, in some cases people didn't see the UFO until reviewing the image later...

Hi Nivek, great thread topic old pal. ... And of course you know that anomalistic-looking photos have always featured heavily in UFO research and discussion [well...in most of the paranormal genre actually] ... and I declare to have scrutinized , deliberated, cogitated, championed and dismissed my fair share of the absolute cornucopia of fine looking examples that abound this enigmatically weird and wonderful world of ufology that has me gripped so strongly.
And the upshot of this 40+ years of circumspect amateur contemplation is that 'imho' there are a lot of unnecessary and easily dismissible genre-polluting-crap clogging up the books and web , and then there are the few that really have a good amount of verisimilitude about them such as among a few others ...the Trindade pictures and Auggies example above which have stood the test of time and a plethora of intense debunk-attempts ... and then there are the newer offerings that just like the older ones , may or may not be mocked up fakes... but are more likely to be trickery derived because of the ever improving technical advancements in the field of 'pictorial trickery'. And so in the end, all that we can reasonably say about any "UFO photo" presented to us is that it either looks cool ... or not... with no real conviction of validity, only a nominal gut feeling. Which as we all know has no standing scientifically or in any sense factual... but nevertheless, it's what we have to go by, ... and if that meagre tool of discernment has the added backup of knowing where the source material came from then our position increases many fold. And as I managed to track your twitter picture down to a couple of our 'old friends' .... Scott Waring and Streetcap1 ... then no matter how good it looks [and it does] I just cannot entertain the notion that there is any authentication to that particular photo at all. UFO SIGHTINGS DAILY: UFO Over Colima Volcano In Mexico Caught On Live Cam, July 2015, UFO Sighting News.

Shame really! ... but I suppose we've been at this task too long to loose sleep over it eh mate.

Btw... 'UFO pictured near Volcanoes' has been a very common feature in ufological-pictures over the last few years , and there have been quite a number of 'interesting' ones in the trend to mull over ... like this one that was presented by 'Teletica' [the apparently serious Costa Rican television company] last year. ....

....not proof, not even sure that the objects aren't some kind of stains on the camera lens .... but until I find anything more about this picture, i'll just say that I find it pretty interesting. What does anyone else think?

Cheers Buddy.

Hi Oli, you may well be right matey. But as with all of these good looking photos, we can never be really sure that they are either kosha or that they are actually what they seem to be... in this case a formation of 'classic looking UFO's' ... but it does look good doesn't it. ... And after a cursory check, the source of the picture seems to have a ring of corroboration to it. It is directly from 'Teletica' a serious media company in Costa Rico... Teletica - Wikipedia ... the same source as this celebrated video of a Meteor over the same volcano a few months ago ... Turrialba Volcano Camera Captures Images Of Meteor Fireball Over Costa Rica ... ....which gives the picture a bit of added credence for me at least.

Cheers buddy.

I remember reading an old book on UFOs where a British boy stuck cut out ufo's onto a window pane and photographed them . They looked very similar to the ones in your picture, people at the time took it to be real but later the boy admitted faking them. The story came to mind after seeing these ones.

Hey 1963, good to see you again my friend, it seemed we were overdue for a thread to post some of the most tantalizing photos of ufos, there are many that stood the test of time and debunking, August's image is a great example in my opinion...

Quite a shame people have to make it a point to create fake imagery, but I suppose there's going to be some duds mixed in, but you're right, nothing to lose sleep over lol...

It is quite an interesting picture, the shapes of those ufos are also seemingly a common shape, like those in the images here:

Hi Auggie... it's been a while my friend. Hope you're well.
.... And yes I think that I know the case that you mean... it was from the 50s or 60s and it was a big media story at the time wasn't it. [i'll have to look it up again when I've got a bit more time]

Cheers Auggie.

Yes it is a very common shape and has been from eyewitness testimony an ever present sight in our skies Nivek.
And the initial thought that entered my head when i saw them was that they were reminiscent of the old Trindade pictures ... upload_2017-10-16_23-31-48.png

But of course the 'Triangular shaped UFO' sightings seems to be just as popular, if not even more so over the last few years haven't they.

Cheers Buddy.

Hi 1963 its nice to see you to . :) I had an old book here with that story in it , somewhere (?) but yes they lauded that as legit back then then the kid fessed up it was a hoax. Shows just how easy it is to get your name up in lights with a piece of black paper and some scissors and sticky tape.

Those pictures were allegedly taken from the periscope of the U.S. Navy sub U.S.S. Trepang around 1971. According to the story, the sub was participating in a NATO exercise near the Arctic Circle when the objects in the picture emerged from the sea and took off. Someone in the early 2000's tracked down the officers who had been on board the sub during the mission and asked them about the photos. They politely stated that they did not know what the objects were or where the photos came from and all they remembered seeing during the mission was the sea and ice. The consensus on the photos seems to be that they are probably balloons being launched by another vessel. Even so, they are some of my favorite Cold War UFO pictures.

Interesting, I didn't know someone asked the officers from that submarine about those pictures...thanks...:)

This is not an UFO pic but something an UFO dropped.

In the 60s something like a huge jelly fish flyed over Évora (no pictures) and a professor saw it with a telescope.
The "thing" dropped filaments that looked like spider webs (angel hair they named it) and the professor and kids in school picked them up and the professor put them under a microscope. (This was also witnessed by air force pilots)

Under the microscope

scan0117.jpg hth1.png

After all of this the "angel hair" was taken to a museum to analyse it further and some time later the museum had a huge fire (strange) and all the material was lost.
In 2015 there was another sighting but no one saved the "angel hair"...
