Whats a cord ? I have firewood here but we call it by weight, a ton.

A pile about 4x4x8. No idea why, or why dirt is delivered in yards or why land is measured in acres. But we're Americans dammit, we don't have to conform to common sense measurements.

Actually, when I bought my house in 97 it had a big cast iron wood stove in the basement and the whole property was terribly overgrown. This is a suburban neighborhood and we don't have centralized sewer so everybody has a septic system with a leech field. As disgusting as that sounds it's unnoticeable if working. It wasn't, but after I dropped who knows how many trees and let the sun in it did again - saving me a boatload of $$. So I cut, split and stacked all that free fuel and continued to do so over time. Heated my home with it for 10-12 years. I lost count of how many I dropped but at least a dozen were the really, really big boys. Talk about adrenaline. Messy, lots of work. Up cleaning the chimney three times a season. In 2012 I finished the basement, sealed up the vent pipe and sold the woodstove. Now I just push the magic button on the wall when I want heat.

So, to whack up a little pile for my friend, easy peasy. All that wood in my truck, jeans, dirt, flannel, axes. Arrrrgh. Lots of testosterone ..... should be a Skoal (yeeech - chewing tobacco) commercial.

Wow, you found that bent tree. I remember watching a documentary about these bent trees on YT. Apparently Red Indians were bending them when young for some practical reason, I forgot which.
Heres a tree behind my house . there was 2 but it was brought down by the ice storm

You have heard of the saying people with rocks in their heads well I am one who has a rock under my pillow. It's a very heavy mineral crystal called Celestine, it contains strontium nitrate and is good for making fireworks or helping your brain function better. It's also great for keeping the Hoolies away at night time. View attachment 11959

For those interested the second to last episode of Supernatural will be on tonight before the series ends after fifteen seasons.

It was great. I really am going to miss those guy's.

They gave us 15 years
They gave us more episodes per season than any other show did.
They never made us wait years between season like most of the shows now.

Really going to miss them. :(

This week i`ve been dealing with an old shoulder injury. i get shoulder impingement every so often. I think its been a little out for a while so i used that KT tape and its alot straighter now, more squared up, I`ve been doing my stretches, had muscles popping, last night was the first night it didnt hurt at all. starting to get more strength back. damn that .... hurts. now get to haul off a bunch of wood thanks to that ice storm a while back, a tree service is coming with their bucket truck to get the big broken limbs out of the top of the pecan tree and dr it up a bit. i`m gonna save back the logs for my smoker and get ride of the rest. Than after that maybe i can get back to putting the 2nd and 3 rd coats of mud on the all the new drywall. I also changed my heat and air thermostat in my house, it was acting funny, a 7 day programmable digital one, i ended up getting just a plain round dial one no battery no programmable shit. and its made the world of difference in the way comfort in the house, crazy how something so simple can be so much better than the fancy stuff.

My right shoulder kept me awake for the past 2 nights. No matter how I position myself in bed, I cannot get it to stop hurting. My "injury" believe it or not, is from using the arm of my lazy boy recliner as a mouse pad. It has thrown off something because, damn, it hurts.

I'm one of those people who would walk around that table in wait for someone to help themselves and then it's on, one chip I will pinch off their plate. I'm trying to put a stop to it as I've been told off by an outsider but blood is thicker so I pinched another one from him, he cracked a smile like a horse who has just been broken in.

I got it from my uncle Lez who operates like a professional around the tables.

I don't know what to make of what happened the other week so i'll lay it out here. While working with a lad of 28 we stopped for a bite to eat and pulled the lorry up to a pond. I went across the street after a while and the lad Sam went down to the water. When I came back he had a Canadian goose in a bag in the cab, he'd throttled it by the water and stuffed in the bag. As we discussed the ins and outs of normal behaviour it came back round and right infront of me he throttled it again. He ate it with his mother which makes it ok as they are poor.

Like it hate it.

They are protected here. He would have gotten heavily fined or maybe even jail time. lol

I can relate. I'm up right now because of, well, I guess the list ..........

I went for an MRI scan this week. I had to spend nearly two hours in the machine. I was not prepared for how loud it is. In film and television, patients are usually going through the scanner in a quiet room. If you have never had one before, you might have heard that they play music to people in the MRI machine over headphones. However, the purpose of the headphones is primarily as ear defenders, because the machine is loud. I could barely hear the music. The noise was unnerving initially, and I thought I might have to ask them stop well before the scans were due to finish. After a while I got used to the racket and a major problem became the pain in my back from maintaining the same position for so long. There were something like seven scans performed, and I couldn't alter my position, not even between scans.

I can agree I had to have one and it was like being put in a torpedo tube . They gave me a cord with a button on it so if I couldn't stand it anymore they would pull me out of it. It was really bad I managed to put up with the banging but only just. I never had any ear protection at all so if you had headphones you were lucky. Yep not allowed to move either that was hard to do for 20 minutes. If you suffer from claustrophobia I doubt whether you would be able to do it , like the ceiling of the tube was a couple of inches from my face luckily I could see down and out of the tube giving me hope I wasn't totally sealed in there. Reminded me a bit of being put inside a crematorium.

I remember getting a brain scan done when I was 19. The machine was round and flat. I was injected with colored dye and then I had to lay down in the middle of the flat surface. The technician would pose my head and then leave the room each time. A machine, round and flat, exactly the same size as the one I was laying on was lowered down from above me and it came within a few millimeters, or less than an 8th of an inch from my head. Then it got loud and pictures were taken.

When I saw the first Terminator movie, I was reminded of the machine that Sara squashes the Terminators head with to be very similar.

Is that the same as an MRI?

I just had one a couple of months ago for a head injury, afterward when leaving the room the guy had a weird look on his face, so i told him of my previous head injurys. the first time (lomg ago)they had a fiberglass mesh that was formed over my face that strapped it down where it didnt move at all, i was like where`d ya learn this the freakin aliens lol no but it was weird anyhow but at least i was able to see the scans and the doc explained to me what`d happen and all.

Wow, that sounds a little bit scary.

Wednesday this coming week I'm repainting my bedroom, I've had the paint and supplies in the workshop, it's a good time now to get this project done...I've always slept so well with the walls of my bedroom this shade of terracotta colour...Its already a terracotta colour in that room now but years old and faded some, time for a fresh coat of paint...

This is an internet pic, but it's the colour of my paint...

Hope there's nothing serious causing you to get these scans, are you okay?...

Going through old stuff stored in my workshop, some of these storage bins are like a time capsule, I haven't opened many of them in over 8 years...I have forgotten what's inside some of them, which is why I'm going through them all and clearing out what I don't need nor want, I'm not one for hoarding and I don't like cluttered spaces...

Found a Sony Walkman I haven't used since, well can't remember the last time I put a CD in this lol...

I opened another storage bin this afternoon, it's been closed up for about 8 years too, this one has old computer software and lots of ram in small boxes, and still much of the contents of this bin unknown yet...I haven't been through it completely, only taken stuff off the top lol...

It looks like tomato soup after I have added the milk and mixed it well. I'm sure my computer doesn't do it justice. Sometimes people will say something is suppose to be purple but my monitor shows blue. What I mean is I don't always see the same color as someone has stated it to be.

No I don't have that much stuff that I need to rent storage, these are small plastic bins, about 2ft tall by 2ft x 3ft, I have them tucked away in the lofted area, kind of like an attic but more open...
