Gene Steinberg's Financial Shenanigans @ Paracast forums

This attitude drove almost every one away. An iron fist. One does not get banned or deleted just for disagreement. This is flat out wrong .
No wonder the place is a graveyard.

Does meglomania overtake those who form these groups ? There are a few of them out there.

So like this has all been going on for over 10 years ? I have seen some of it but have not been an ardent follower or admirer of Gene's antics nor of Silly Saucers Billy Meier , who Gene reminds me of for some bizarre reason.
Yeah the begging was 10-12 years ongoing. Gene weaponized his fourms to bring in cash. He had me and my wife feeling sorry for him.
I was content to leave him be but wow. I can't stay quiet about this

Amazing. The guy no doubt suffers no guilt about what he is doing is he a sociopath maybe ? Its what they do , make you feel sorry for them while they are controlling you , seen it before, one in my family actually.

It looks like they don't have anything else to do.

It was a good, interesting forum in spite of Gene's character flaws because there were a lot of smart, well informed people posting good stuff. Gene's true colors were not well known, or at least they were easy to ignore back then. That insufferable boob Randall didn't come along until the forum was well into its death spiral. There were plenty of insufferable boobs, of course, but they were not "moderators" back then. The begging intensified, the questions about it became more numerous, the defensiveness on Gene's part (along with his tall tales in the begging emails) brought it into sharper focus which caused more people to question his claims, and so on. Anyone with something to contribute got the hell out of there.

Biedny pretty well carried the show, with the help of some really good guests. Gene was actually a pretty decent forum moderator ten years ago, or at least he had more patience in that role than Biedny. It wasn't long, though, before his panhandling was well known enough to cause problems, which he then handled poorly. That situation continues to deteriorate, as seen above. Sad, really. He and Randall have each attracted the other into their lives, and have no one else to blame.

The forum archive remains a valuable source of some good work, competent research, and interesting commentary. Gene, sell it to Nivek for a fair price before you let it go offline. Too much good stuff has already disappeared that way. Do it to save your own contributions, if nothing else. Some of that is well worth keeping online.

Think about what podcasts were back then and Paracast was doing halfway decent for itself. I remember CO far better than DB - always wanted a fast forward button when listening to Chris hack and bumble his way through an endless run on question. But - the man went and did and saw for himself and that's a lot more than virtually all interested parties can say.

Don Ecker on that show - I had a FF button that also doubled as an OFF button.

The sad fact is people will show up on places like The Paracast because they have something to promote or shill. They will suffer talking to Steinberg for a couple of hours in order to sell a couple of books. Many of these people know about Steinberg’s antics. They just don’t care.

Back in the old days when The Paracast had a few members, someone did call Steinberg a sociopath. Needless to say he didn’t take it well. This was before Steinberg was caught checking members private messages to see what everyone was saying about him. As you can imagine, he banned those people who wrote unkind things about him.

As Above So Below
Referring to the first quote below, Gene can't help but to lie with more lies on top of lies...We all know he's taking another dig at us, a forum with a positive and balanced atmosphere, which was not created for Gene's sake obviously...Yes Randall did come here but with hardly a balanced attitude and what resulted in his being banned from here was his arrogant and disrespecting attitude towards our members which goes against our natural order here...In fact Randall is only one of two people ever banned from this forum...

Also it's just really asinine to have a complaints desk (thread), really speaks volumes to not only the need to create such a a thread but also to have it placed on the top node on the forum...The top nodes of a forum should be the main topics to which the forum is themed, it's the first ones guests typically see...
In one case of a forum designed strictly for personal attacks that doesn't deserve mention, his attempt to engage in a balanced dialog resulted in being banned from said forum.

Complaints Desk

...

Referring to this next quote below, its astonishing, Gene doesn't even hide it anymore, calling himself a dictator, no matter if benevolent or not, shows how unstable he really is and along with Randall they are two peas in a pod...In this case Gene can have his cake and eat it too, there's no one left on his forum to share it with except his foreman Randall...
we attempt to behave as benevolent dictators in that.

Here Randall defends having on a card carrying NAZI and wanted to get his side of the story. We know his side of the story..

As many people have pointed out, on several different venues, there is ample evidence of serious mental illness on display there. Fussing with them is as pointless as trying to reason with a flat earther, or a moon hoax addict. Anyone wasting their time posting there gets what they deserve.

We are probably inadvertently breathing some life back into that corpse just by playing Buzkashi with it here.

A complaint desk. Sounds like marriage counseling. If you're at the point where you need rules like that just get divorced already and move on.

When you read that Steinberg is a “Benevolent Dictator” and he has a “complaints desk”, you don’t really need to know anything more about The Paracast. His buddy Randall just fuels the flames that Steinberg started. Perhaps we can chalk it up to Steinberg being old and senile these days.

He gave us some good shows and we liked that forum for a time so yes, let him down easy. It's just sad to see something past its prime thrashing around. Someone with talent could make a big difference over there

When David Biedny was still with the show he made it worth listening to. The co-hosts afterwards left much to be desired in my opinion.

Dear Friend,

I know these are difficult times, and many of you are struggling. Over the past decade, I’ve sent you messages about my personal situation, and I’m grateful for all the caring responses.

Today, I want to tell you about my radio show, The Paracast, and our special subscription upgrade, The Paracast+.

Prices have been slashed to make it easier for you to subscribe.

The Paracast+ is better than ever, especially the After The Paracast podcast. Each week we feature a special guest; often it’s a continuation of the conversation on the regular episode of The Paracast. Sometimes it’s another guest.

After The Paracast has also featured exclusive interviews. So Nick Pope, who became famous as the former head of the UFO desk at the UK Ministry of Defence, revealed his interest in conspiracy theories. On April 14, 2017, we presented Monte Shriver, a retired college professor and accountant, who was a resident of Aztec, NM at the time of the alleged crash of a UFO in 1948. Not to be a spoiler and all, but I think most of you know that he, and the former classmates he met at a reunion more than five decades later, had no memories of any such episode.

Here’s a link to a thread in our forum listing the topics featured in recent episodes of After The Paracast:

Gene comes close to begging in this one..

No wonder the place is a graveyard.

The trend is against online forums. Those that hold on seem to do so because they are excellent resources—e.g., various car owner forums, photography and photo gear type forums, forums like this very one, etc.—and because they are friendly places to visit. I've noticed over time that once a forum loses traction, if it doesn't provide a Facebook page, a Reddit thingie or such, it's a goner.

The Gene 'n Randall operation is a goner. It's just, they ain't gone; they keep flogging' it like it's something it ain't, and something it hasn't been for quite some time.

Yes. I listened to both shows back then. Seemed like Chris would ask a question and then go on re-asking it in a dozen different ways and minutes later, finally, um, what was the question? Ha! Of course, with Ecker, the bloviations went well beyond questions and became pretty much continuous retellings, recitations, and political rants.
