Now I know what you mean by the Book of Boba Fett, thanks for the heads up...!

After the ending credits to the latest episode 'The Rescue' there's a final scene with Boba Fett...

Apparently they have ten new Star Wars series in development. So I'm guessing that The Book of Boba Fett is going to be one of those new series, and The Mandolorian will proceed with its own story.

Disney announce 10 Star Wars and 10 Marvel series – and new films

It was cool to see the Child, aka baby yoda, aka Grogu, get rescued by Luke for the Jedi training he needs, but holy crap my girlfriend and I are seriously going to miss seeing that little rascal yanking on Mando's heartstrings every week. The whole Mandalorian rebels/outcasts/etc thing is pretty neat, but I just do not see how this story is going to find a replacement for the Mando/Grogu bond that made the last two seasons so delightfully endearing.

‘The Mandalorian’ Season 3 Will Go Into Production After ‘Book of Boba Fett’ Spinoff, Jon Favreau Says

“The Mandalorian” dropped a bombshell announcement on fans with its Season 2 finale, revealing in the closing moments that the show is getting a third spinoff, titled “The Book of Boba Fett.”

As that series had not been included in the long list of announcements Disney made at its Dec. 10 Investor Day, some “Star Wars” fans have been looking for clarification on the order in which we’ll be getting “The Mandalorian” Season 3 and its new spinoff show, “The Book of Boba Fett.”

Don’t worry, series creator Jon Favreau, who created “The Mandalorian” and its spinoffs, is here to explain it all.

“At the end of [‘The Mandalorian’ Season 2], Boba Fett came out and it said, ‘The Book of Boba Fett, Coming December of 2021.’ And that wasn’t part of the big Disney announcement, but here’s the logo,” Favreau said while appearing on “Good Morning America” Monday. “We wanted to hold this back because we didn’t want to spoil the surprise during the big Disney announcement of all the shows when Kathleen Kennedy was up there. And so they let me keep this one a secret.”

The two “Mandalorian” spinoff series that were announced at Disney Investor Day 2020 included “Rangers of the New Republic” and “Ahsoka,” led by Rosario Dawson as Ahsoka Tano. Set within the timeline of “The Mandalorian,” “The Book of Boba Fett” stars Temuera Morrison as Boba Fett and Ming-Na Wen as Fennec Shand. The series is executive produced by Favreau, Dave Filoni and Robert Rodriguez.

“So this is actually separate from ‘The Mandalorian’ Season 3,” Favreau continued. “But what we didn’t say in that announcement is that the next show coming up, Kathy said the ‘next chapter,’ and that’s going to be ‘The Book of Boba Fett’ and then we go into production right after that on Season 3 of ‘The Mandalorian,’ back with the main character that we all have known and loved. So that’s going to be pretty soon following that. So were working on that pre-production now, while we’re in production on ‘Boba Fett.'”

Both “The Book of Boba Fett” and “The Mandalorian” Season 3 are expected to premiere December 2021 on Disney+.

Sebastian Stan Might Have His Chance to Finally Play Luke Skywalker

“The Mandalorian” surprised fans by bringing back Luke Skywalker in its second season finale. The young Jedi showed up in a moment that was both exciting and heartbreaking — he saved Mando and Grogu from Moff Gideon but took Grogu from his adopted space dad. We’re not sure what’s going to happen to Grogu in Season 3, but we do know that we want to see more of Luke Skywalker.

And while Mark Hamill obviously can’t play young Luke, there is someone who can. Someone who fans have been saying should play the character for years. Someone who has even endorsed it himself.

To put it plainly: cast Sebastian Stan as young Luke, you cowards!

MAJOR SPOILER ALERT!

Someone should have told Jon Favreau that when they were making Chapter 16 of #TheMandalorian, they had Sebastian Stan as an option to play Luke Skywalker instead of using CGI. Im not sure, but I think @HamillHimself would have been ok with it as well. pic.twitter.com/uzwbMGvdOy

What a missed opportunity it was for Disney not to use their excellent connections to recast Sebastian Stan as Luke Skywalker #StarWars #Mandalorian pic.twitter.com/mEQGLlvqWb

The resemblance of Stan to a young Hamill is pretty uncanny, but that’s not the only reason fans have been calling for his involvement in “Star Wars.” There’s pretty much a perfect storm of things that make him the absolute only choice if we were to ever get a young Luke in “The Mandalorian” or any other live-action “Star Wars” property.

As the tweet says, he’s much already primed for the role. He’s an actor already working under the Disney umbrella with his Marvel films, so it would be pretty easy to lure him to the Lucasfilm side. (As Pixar just did with Chris Evans.) And despite the fact that he’s just boarded a Hulu biopic to play Tommy Lee opposite Lily James’ Pamela Anderson, his only current project is “The Falcon and the Winter Soldier,” which has already finished filming. The third season of “The Mandalorian” probably wouldn’t start filming until sometime next year but, either way, that leaves a convenient slot of time available in terms of scheduling.

For some reason, I thought this show was a depiction of the future Star Wars franchise. A continuation so to speak.

I think the timeline of the Mandalorian are events after the original trilogy but way before the latest trilogy...
