That's so weird. I read that as, "the first episode was wack." the first time. I don't have cable and I don't own a television. I might be able to stream it. Do you think it will be sticking around? I hate it when I invest myself in a show and they cancel it after one season. lol

Wow, that's absolutely brilliant!
... New York in 1911... I shouldn't have been so surprised that it would have been so vibrant... because back then at the turn of the century, it was the place to emigrate for so many 'new Americans'. I was just wondering if the guy with one leg that we saw a couple of times [once he seemed to be begging] was an actual old invalided soldier from the civil war? ... perhaps not being as how gangrene was so prevalent in those days and maybe it's just as likely to have been the result of some [nowadays innocuous] random accident. ... But yes it is a gem of a film and reminds me of this other one that I absolutely love ... ... and here's what is claimed to be the 'oldest video' from 1888 at Roundhay Park [about 15 miles from my house] originally created by French artist and the inventor Louis Le Prince and 'upscaled' by the same guy Denis Shiryaev ... ... All great stuff , by great inventive minds and skilled technicians !
.... Incidentally, the great and innovative Victorian moving picture pioneer that was responsible for that brilliant 1888 video above 'Louis Le Prince' also belongs on what could be another interesting thread about people that 'just mysteriously vanished'! ... [on a train journey in 1890 no lass!]

It takes a more critical approach than some other History Channel shows, and originally airs at an odd time, so it may not prove to be popular. But if they continue with self-contained episodes, investment per se shouldn't matter.
It should be noted that it was only a half hour long, yet covered four to six topics. (I didn't keep a precise count.)
