By all means, get those Garbage Pail Kids out of here and make rom for this - because it's much more wholesome than garbage and hideously violent games never gives anyone bad ideas like mass shootings or anything.

Yep! ... that sounds about right in these #enlightened times' buddy. ...

I agree with you assessment of the "runnaway train" but I think some of it is contrived. When you look at who is actually saying things and how much attention they are getting for it, you can see that either they are famous people or unknown people that the media has decided to give a lot of attention to. And it is an attempt at creating a new "normal".

Yes we all want to feel like we belong, but most of us don't feel that way because we see the contriving and controlling aspects, it chafes and we either retreat or we lash out. There is a lot of lashing out going on right now. And it is being misrepresented to the masses in a lot of ways.

The Dr. Suess thing might even be some kind of distraction as the 6 books that the publisher has decided to not print are the 6 least popular of his books. I had only heard of one of those books but never saw it and I suspect they haven't been published in a long time. So the story is being used to get everyone paying attention and emotional about that, a non-issue. The school isn't banning Dr. Suess, just trying to make the read a thon day not about Dr. Suess. Some of the things in the below article make sense, however, history needs to be considered, when these books were written, just like Tom Sawyer. And everyone should be reading any books they buy for their children before they buy them.

Dr. Seuss books: This Virginia school district says it isn't banning his books. On the annual Read Across America Day, it's just no longer emphasizing them - CNN

A new normal sets us adrift as it would be false. Time has always set the norm and never us and that is why I see this as a bigger issue than yourself. The celebrities who sell themselves on the back of this are just whores but the nobodies, just like face palm and twatter on which this all thrives can as we've seen carry clout.

I'm reductive and tar many in one stroke, gender pushers, woke, pc brigade, cancel culture and pro protesters as having one voice and one message and no ears. Reverse fascism or backward fascist behaviour is blind to its own behaviour, Nazi party shared the same begginning. So being created by those who wish to eliminate history because they feel attached to a fascist system.

Par for the course actually and brimmed with irony.

Trying to sing before they can talk.

Sorry not time but the times if that makes any difference I'm not sure but as I don't believe time as anything but internal I thought I would make the difference all by myself.

From time to time I get bored, can you believe that? And so I read the headlines (but never click on) from the spam links in my inbox folder. I got one today that I am pretty sure is PC unacceptable, but on
which of the many levels of hell that they are now attempting to enforce?

For your enjoyment, it read "White Women discovers enlargement secrets of African Tribesmen".

That's a new type of spam, at least for me - I usually get the Nigerian bank account scams. Oh, wait
a minute, that's not PC either!

Maher blasts cancel culture over Teen Vogue editor's ousting: Woke 'brats' control the media now

"Real Time" host Bill Maher went on a tirade against the growing "tsunami" of cancel culture. "I swear to God, I don't want to talk about cancel culture and this nonsense every week, but I just think people understand how this is a tsunami and how fast the goalposts change almost on a weekly basis," Maher began the discussion on Friday night.

"Literally, on the top of my head ... I wrote down three things that I could think of -- not just what you do now... it's anything you've ever done... Not just what you say, it's now what you listen to, they can catch you for that. What you order, who you say you like, anything sort of association, if you retweet something."

The subject later turned to the ousting of Teen Vogue editor-in-chief Alexi McCammond, who was forced to resign even before she started the job after the magazine's staff expressed outrage over allegedly racist and homophobic tweets she made a decade ago when she was a 17-year-old high schooler.

McCammond had previously apologized for the posts.

"Can I just say something? People talk s--- in private! We can't legislate that away!" Maher exclaimed. "For f--- sake, can we have a little common sense? People talk s--- about each other in private."

One of Maher's guests, former U.S. Sen. Heidi Heitkamp, D-N.D., blamed Teen Vogue for not backing McCammond and urged Corporate America to "not buy into this stuff."

"You're right," Maher agreed. "Somebody has to have some b---s!"

Heitkamp slammed Republicans attempting to appropriate cancel culture and pointed to their "War on Christmas" mantra that gets pushed every holiday season.

"Yeah, they're snowflakes, too," Maher responded. "But they don't control the media the way these brats do. That's the problem. I don't think that it was Republicans who got Alexi [fired]."

The HBO star then compared the current state of cancel culture to the "Blacklist" era of the 1950s how the simple act of "informing on you" could get someone banned.

"People go to parties now and they don't want to talk. They're like, 'Can I talk? I don't know your girlfriend. She might be woke.' Really. I'm not making this up," Maher said. "This informant thing, it's not just what you do, it's what you don't report. That's another way the goalpost moved."

Maher then pointed to the canceling of Mumford & Sons banjo player Winston Marshall, who issued an apology and announced he was "stepping away" from the band after he praised journalist Andy Ngo's book "Unmasked," which exposes the dangers of Antifa. Maher called his apology "so Soviet."

"'Over the past few days, I have come to better understand the pain I caused by the book I endorsed.' What? Did you hit someone over the head with it?" Maher quipped. "'I have offended not only a lot of people I don't know but also those closest to me, including my bandmates.' What a bunch of p---ies they must be. 'And for that, I am truly sorry.' It's so Stalinesque. You know what, how about, 'I can read what I want! I'm a musician!'"

:laugh8: I don't think that would do it. Maybe someone put you on the list for a joke.

No, I have to confess what it is. I use several email addresses. And the one I got that on was
one of those I use as a throw-away - when they insist on your email address before you
can do anything. I sign up for things on it and apparently one of the sites that I downloaded
some movies from (family, by the way, for the grand-kids) was hacked and they got that address.
I get tons of spam on that one, but this particular spam caught my
eye because it was relative to the topic. But I really have been researching early bible connections.

I got bit by that - legacy email addresses that didn't encrypt their passwords. Something to dig in to next time you are bored.

Whose the wokest baby?': Washington Post is slammed for 'social justice guide for toddlers' that pushes BLM and #MeToo onto children and recommends drag queen bedtime readings

Parents wanting to raise a 'woke' child have been given a list of books, websites, and other learning resources by The Washington Post in an article which has been mocked by some online. Parents were recommended to look to Canadian drag queens to encourage reading (left) and provided a list of books, including Woke Baby and Antiracist Baby (right). Critics described the feature, entitled 'Social justice for toddlers', as indoctrination, and said children should be allowed to play and develop at their own pace. Educational experts quoted by the paper, however, warned that it was never too early to train your child.
