How is The Coronavirus affecting your life?

It is a good thing to remember that the second Covid Vaccine shot is usually the one that causes the bad reactions.
That's what my cousin's said happened to their co-workers, some got Pfizer and some Moderna and the first shot was fine then they were so sick from the second shot they couldn't work.

There's only been 2 recorded reactions to the Johnson & Johnson single shot vaccine since its being distributed and used in the US, 2 young people had extreme fatigue for a couple days...Its been postponed a week for me, was to get it next week but now its going to happen the following week, logistics issues, I can wait...

...
I haven't found any place in New Mexico that is giving the J&J shot. I think I will go to NC and get in line there. :tongue8:

When I had the AstraZeneca vaccine, I felt rough for a period of about 24 hours, beginning when I awoke the following morning. It was like a bad flu, and I was bedridden for the day. I had fever, chills, shivering, sweating, myalgia, malaise, and headache. I would not have been able to go to work the that day, if I had needed to work. Fortunately it was a Sunday. (I mentioned earlier in the thread that I was due to receive it on a Friday, and that's true, but the appointment got cancelled and was rescheduled to the following day.)

Also, another tip for getting vaccinated is, if you have a preferred side for sleeping on, get the vaccine in the opposite arm. I learned this the hard way by not specifying a preference. I did not foresee the consequence of getting the vaccination in the arm of the side I prefer to sleep on (it exacerbates the pain of the injection site).

Are you feeling okay now or are there still some lingering side effects prevailing?...

Well, I could understand if the states want to get rid of the Pfizer vaccine as quickly as possible since it takes extra storage requirements, which are most likely a burden. But I don't want to support Pfizer in any way, AND I don't trust their method. I had heard the Keytruda commercials and the side effects to that drug most likely are not missing from the Pfizer and moderna vaccines as it is the same strategy, which only been in use for 10 years, AND never was used fora vaccine before.

You may be seeing the J&J vaccine in your area very soon...Looks like they're set to ship millions more doses out to the states within a week...

Covid is becoming increasingly associated with lasting tinnitus in so-called 'long Covid' sufferers.

Some Covid-19 Patients Say They’re Left With Ringing Ears
COVID associated with hearing loss, tinnitus and vertigo – new study confirms link

I reported back in the summer that I experienced a prolonged bout of severe tinnitus that appeared seemingly as a prodrome to a respiratory infection in early March of last year. That tinnitus has recurred several times since then, and manifests as a high-pitched ringing in my ears, more-so in the left ear than the right. In fact, I can hear it as I am typing this. There was no community Covid testing available at the time I was ill, and unless you were so ill that you required hospitalization, no medical diagnosis was possible.

The founder of the American restaurant chain Texas Roadhouse recently committed suicide, reportedly after his own experience of severe tinnitus after suffering from Covid-19.

Texas Roadhouse CEO Kent Taylor, a Business Maverick, Was Tormented by Tinnitus After Covid-19

I am fortunate in that, although my tinnitus is subjectively quite loud, was present initially for a long time, and returns recurrently, it has not affected me emotionally as much as I feared it would to start with, such that it has not significantly affected my quality of life. I had read stories of people being driven to suicide by tinnitus, and there being no cure or treatment for the condition.

I also have a subjective sense of diminished night vision, with a sort of 'snow' largely obscuring my vision in darkness, and which is not noticeable in daylight or in a lit room at night. I wonder if this is a visual analogue of tinnitus. I also had tingling sensations in my limbs.

I had a full neurological MRI scan late last year which showed no abnormalities.

I also experienced tinnitus which started back in November last year but tested negative for covid...This continued until a week ago, it was moderately loud in both ears and when I was in the hospital for 5 days two weeks ago I reported it to the doctors but they did not check out my ears and hearing...A week ago the level of sound went down to minimum, I barely hear it except if I'm in a very quiet space...I never had this problem until it began in November 2020...

I've had tinnitus for as long as I can remember. All day, everyday for years... I barely notice it because there is so much noise pollution around me at all times. I suppose you just get used to it. Right now in my small apartment, there is noise from the computer tower, the fridge, deep freeze, the fan that I run 24/7 in my room, the elevator is intermittent but it is right outside my door, and various noises from other tenants. Then there's noise from outside for instance, traffic. I can't even hear my tinnitus at the moment even though I am purposely trying to focus in on it. It seems to blend in nicely with all the other noises.

Today I'm going to call the local health department who is overseeing the vaccination efforts in my area and get confirmation of my upcoming shot of Johnson & Johnson...I've recovered well enough and my physical strength levels are closer to normal again so I should be fine now to get the vaccine...I'm ready for it so I can get back to working full time again...

I received a delivery from FedEx yesterday of 5 new multi-layer washable cloth masks and 25 replaceable carbon filters for the masks...The order cost about 40 dollars with shipping fees, these are for using when I return to work full time...

I was standing on an pretty good sized elevator in a hospital the other day. A woman got on - an employee - and stood right in front of the doors with her hands on her face literally whimpering 'I can do this I can do this' and shot out of there two floors down like she was fired out of a cannon. This caused a few raised eyebrows.

She's working in the wrong place and - gotta say it - take the goddamned stairs they are better for you anyway. She thinks she's risking life and limb but can go down two flights of stairs.

Reeeeeaaaalllly getting sick of this.

You too? Always have a hearing test tone in the background no matter what. Sometimes it's just like someone turned the volume dial waaaaay up and I can't even hear normal conversations. Have yet to figure out what, if anything, triggers it. Too many years of working in loud places without protection. I expect to need hearing aids at some point in the not too distant future. I guess you do get used to it but it's annoying.

Unfortunately there's nothing that the doctors can do about it. They cannot even discover tinnitus upon an ear examination, and rely only on the patient's subjective report of experiencing it.

That's also not a problem for me. Although, like I said, I may just be used to it, but I don't have a hearing problem. As a matter of fact, I almost wish I did because I am a light sleeper. I went to bed at 5:30 this morning and was awakened by the guy below me running the water to shower at 7:30. Now I'm going to be listless all day.

It may not be tinnitus. How long has your community had 5G? When I was a kid my hearing was so good I could hear dog whistles, my brother and I both can hear them. My grandsons when being tested for cognitive disorders (different issues) both tested very high on the hearing. They can hear dog whistles too. Once wifi was prevalent I can hear a constant whine, and I have identified different whines based on how close to a tower I am. You may just be hearing very high range noise instead of tinnitus. The best way to test it is to go out in the boonies (like Chaco Canyon, NM) where there is no cell phone service and if the noise stops you know it is not tinnitus.

Yes, I did that test. I've been in a few sound proofed rooms. The noise doesn't stop that's when it becomes overwhelmingly prevalent.

I have never heard dog whistles though.

When you were in the sound proof room did you have service for your cell phone?

No. I don't own a cell phone. Pretty sure it was before cell phones were even prominent.

What does a dog whistle sound like, is it high or low?
It is very high pitched, that is why most humans can't hear them. Some electronics are in that range as well.
