Makary: We needed Fauci's outdoor guidance 14 months ago, quit shaming the unvaccinated

(Excerpt)

If they want to get serious about [vaccine] hesitancy pivot quickly those vaccines sites to walk-ins. ... Stop shaming people who do not choose to get the vaccine. We need to respect them. Some are not getting it because they had the infection. That’s a medically reasonable idea. We need to give something for people to look forward to If you get a vaccine, you will need to have privileges once you are a month out. And finally stop talking about boosters. It's not clear that we need it. There is no evidence to suggest that we need it. Telling people you will need a vaccine every six month is not helping right now.

This starts out ok, quit shaming people who do not choose to get (or have not gotten) the vaccine (yet). Then going in to some stupid bliss bunny idea of giving privileges to those one month after they have vaccine is Shaming. It's like the teacher in 1st grade giving the "good" kids a candy at the end of the day. Total bull******t

I got scheduled for a J&J vaccine again, Thursday after work.

If these vaccines are going to keep us from being hospitalized with more serious symptoms I see no reason why we should be wearing mask if we're fully vaccinated... I have still been wearing a mask everywhere I go in public but I'm starting to question that...

I was told it can take up to two weeks for your body to create the antibodies to protect you from the virus. I can't remember who told me that but it makes sense. It is the same for the flu shot.

As for wearing the mask, until they have a clue about all the mutations and there are no new cases for a few months, I am going to keep wearing my mask. It is still too early to make any real determinations based on the current data. Next year we will have enough data and time to analyze it to know what is real and what isn't.

Yes 2 weeks after the date of vaccination, I'm now 2 1/2 weeks into post-vaccination...I'm still going to wear a mask indoors in public, even though I question it some but I don't wear masks outdoors, thats just silly to me...I've seen people in a state parks in the mountains walking with their partner by themselves and both wearing masks lol...

I agree, wearing them out doors if there is no one around is silly and we don't have many crowds outdoors since no one is waiting to get in side a store or restaurant now. All the businesses in Albuquerque still require them though.

if you look at how they are suppose to work,
you are not keeping yourself safe with the masks at all (example, something like 1/3 of cold virus infections get in through your eyes...)
the masks are to protect others if you are infected.
and vaccines often make people non symptomatic carriers.

with the amount of lack of understanding of how all this works, and it being so political (and the bad information that results from that), and people not washing hands, and the evolving viruses, the masks are kind of pointless anyway.

the harsher the environment, the harsher something evolves. this applies to just about everything, and is worth thinking about.
if people just stay home when they get sick and don't go back out till they get entirely better plus a week, we could evolve this virus into a total nothing virus. but that is unlikely to happen because the tech industries like google are now even blocking doctors from telling people what is going on.

there is no real hope of fixing this virus with any personal action because the virus is evolving faster than we are allowed to talk to each other and change anything useful.
our best bet as humans is likely to just ignore the entire thing and move on...

I've always worn glasses in the shops along with a mask, since the beginning of the pandemic I was aware and warned friends that eye protection should be worn to protect against the virus...Last year early on in the pandemic I was wearing tight fitting goggles for eye protection and an industrial respirator lol...

Once you have it on comfortably, it can be a pain to take it off only to have to put it back on again. Someone like a taxi, or delivery, driver might want to leave it on between fares/dropoffs.

if you want to be totally safe,
look at what this guy did.

and his later upgrades

but it looks like lots of work to build.
I bet things like that would start selling if a good design came on the market.

These kind of illogical conclusions made by these so-called experts like Fauci makes me not give a crap about wearing a mask anymore...

Fauci called out for 'blood-boiling nonsense' after continuing to say children should wear masks outside

(Excerpt)

White House coronavirus advisor Dr. Anthony Fauci drew anger again Wednesday after continuing to insist children wear masks while playing outdoors, in spite of repeated studies showing outdoor transmission of coronavirus is virtually nil.

This wasn't intentional but I went to the grocery store yesterday and it wasn't until I reached the checkout line before I realized I did not have a mask on...I felt really bad about it because of how long I was in the store before realizing I was maskless...Doh!

The vaccine took me out. I was ok when I woke up and my arm never hurt but by lunch time I had to tell my boss I was taking PTO and I went to bed. My fever got up to 103 before it broke. That was Friday. Yesterday I was not feverish but I was really tired. Did not get anything done. Today I feel worse. Maybe I am dehydrated, but I have been drinking a lot of water and had some gatorade yesterday. I suspect if I ever got the virus it would have kicked my butt.

My cousin is coming to visit tomorrow and I have to work so I don't know who is going to get the house clean (always the last thing on my list when it is warm enough to be outside) :tongue8:

Hope you're feeling better now...Its very interesting how these vaccines affect people differently...When I got the yellow fever vaccine I got sick as hell but others didn't...Another friend of mine got the J&J vaccine and he was extremely fatigued for almost 3 days, but felt fine after that...

Thanks. I am feeling better once I get up and get moving. I wake up thinking I need to stay in bed and all day yesterday I was tired but I did get a little done. Finished planting all the bedding plants. I used big pots for most of them so it was not as much digging.

You're still feeling some fatigue from the vaccine?...Are you experiencing any dehydration?...The friend I mentioned earlier also said he was a bit dehydrated too...
