I notice that the labelling on the 140-sheet version is slightly lower, also, when both are stood upright. Did they shrink the width of the towels to save even more on material costs?

It does appear to be shrunken down in width, I wonder if there is a standard width the various manufacturers abide by...I would think there would be a standard maximum width to ensure the rolls fit on the various paper towel dispensers that are sold...

I think this video fits here, looks like we will be paying higher prices for the quality diminishing products we are currently buying... I think it will only get worse, our society is balanced on very fragile functions, one goes down it's a domino effect...Raw materials of all sorts are rising in cost, some have become very expensive because of price increases...

PFAS found in Texico wells
May 8—SANTA FE — The New Mexico Environment Department has informed the village of Texico it has identified the forever chemicals of PFAS in one of its water system wells.
According to an April letter from the NMED's Drinking Water Bureau, drinking water in the system was sampled Dec. 16 and Feb. 9, and sample results came back for 28 unique PFAS compounds.
There is no enforceable drinking water standard for PFAS in New Mexico. The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency has issued a Lifetime Health Advisory for two PFAS compounds, perfluorooctanoic acid (PFOA) and perfluorosulfonic acid (PFOS), of 70 parts per trillion individually or combined.
Three wells received testing — the Meeks Pivot Well, Well No. 2 (tower well) and Well No. 4 (KKR well), with all three tested Feb. 9 and the last two also tested Dec. 16. Well No. 2 was identified with presence between 28.7 and 32.4 parts per trillion. The Meeks Pivot well came back negative on its only test, and Well No. 4 came back negative on both tests.
The letter does not reference any potential sources of the contamination. Because of the absence of federal or state regulations, followup actions are at the discretion of individual water systems.
A message regarding the testing results was sent Thursday by The News to Village Clerk Carolyn Johnson. Those questions were referred to the village's water supervisor, but The News did not receive a response by press time.

Got it here too. Teflon and Scotchgard products. As I remember it, a small town had an inordinate number of cases of a rare cancer that was traced to this. The state said 'all good' and the feds disagreed with them resulting in a big kerfluffle. Forgot about it until now. There was even some talk of that around here from a big landfill - possibly a source of the terminal kidney and brain cancer a friend of mine developed.

That is insane! See, no one in power can be trusted. It reminds me of the Erin Brockovich crusade. When she had a meeting with the company that was dumping chemicals in the water and told them that the water in their glass was shipped in especially for them, they wouldn't touch it.

Nutro brand dog food, the wet varieties in particular, have slowly been creeping up in cost lately and now a new thing they're doing is taking some of the quantity of meat out of each can and adding more sauce to fill the can back full...The food is noticably more saucy than it used to be...Another dog food I buy is Blue Buffalo dry food in resealable 5 lb. bags, now they're 4.5 lbs. and the price has increased...I'm not sure how long ago the weight changed but there was a recent price increase of about 60 cents a bag...In the summer last year I paid about 16 dollars a bag of 5 lbs., now I'm paying 18 to 20 dollars a bag, depending on where I purchase it, with only 4.5 lbs. instead of 5 lbs...

I've noticed recently that Colgate toothpaste uses tubes now that are partially empty. I call it the "potato chip effect." Potato chips years ago started coming in bags that are mostly puffed up with air.
But why is there a shortage of US coins? Makes no sense since they are all minted here in the US. I think this is an example of how many companies are taking advantage of the shortages -- making up a nonexistent coin shortage to force people to use credit cards.
