^ That guy's annoying. Do you agree with him, Nivek? I agreed with a couple things he said, but mostly he was just annoying. lol Maybe because his opinion does not matter to me.

I watched this one this morning. I really liked it. It could have been better, but it could have been a lot worse. The acting was great. The CGI was good and the storyline was predictable, but only because I am a Science Fiction Movie Fanatic and therefore have seen them all. In some cases I have watched them at least 6 times.

There are a lot of mixed reviews out there from armchair critics. Most of them are favorable. I give this movie a 7.5/10 YMMV.

The Tomorrow War

This reminds me of an excellent sci-fi novel, The Forever War. It didn't have true time travel, though. However, time-dilation played a big role, which is like traveling to the future without being able to return.

Yes I agree with him in that commentary and others he's done, I think he's spot on and to the point...

You do know that's not a Marvel movie?...The video commentary you don't like is discussing Marvel movies...Just saying since you lumped them together...

I was going mention that too about that book, The Tomorrow War movie isn't based upon any book, however there is a book by that name, Tomorrow War by J.L. Bourne...

Yes. I just put my post all-in-one.

I really am enjoying the Loki series. Have you seen any of them? I think there are 2 more episodes to go.

No, I think it's one of the worst series Marvel has made and it trashes all the major movies that came before it...DC comics are putting out some better quality shows than Marvel is now, so I'm favouring DC comics for the time being...

It's noteworthy when there's a big split between professional critics and regular viewers.
Rotten Tomatoes: Critics 50% - Regular Folk 80%

That's kind of funny to me because it is the only one I liked out of them all so far. :)

Well, I'm sorry for the rain but Tomorrow War was a disappointment, good idea and concept and badly executed...The story started unraveling about mid way through, and the movie flattened out to a cheesy B movie for the remainder of it...The cheesy parts began hitting maximum when a woman who looked like she's barely out of college and boney arms the size of my wrist handled a .50 Cal Browning M2 Machine Gun on top of a fast moving Humvee like Arnold Schwarzenegger would in his prime lol...I'm not going to speak on the political and social overtones that flowed uninhibited, I guess that's the norm for movies these days...

Don't get me wrong, its entertaining and it doesn't really get boring but it does get cheesy, again sorry for the rain, just my opine...I'll be generous and give it a 5/10...

Speaking of Arnold Schwarzenegger, did you notice in the movie, when he is telling his little girl that he has to go away for a week, he says, "I will be back"? lol

He is married IRL to one of Arnold's daughters.

No need to be sorry, Nivek. If you didn't care for it, that's okay with me. There was one review I read from a woman who said she cried 2 or 3 times throughout the movie. I never felt that way.
I also knew one of those women was going to be his kid.

Maybe that's why, I felt that it was predictable. I enjoyed it from start to finish. When I first saw that it was over 2 hours long, I kinda moaned because that's a long movie nowadays, but I remember thinking, "Wow, that went by really fast."

I agree with your assessment and score. I'll add that the main character's
desparate desire to return to the future to save his daughter from a war that never would have happened was absurd, along with the disinterest of the government of the past in taking action to preempt the relatively imminent extinction of the human race.

The preoccupation of with creating the toxin was dumb as there were already numerous means of killing the creatures. There were other plot holes as well, but no need to go on.

Actually, I have a complaint that applies to both of these movies.
Since in both films it was difficult or impossible to kill the aliens with light caliber weapons (despite them hardly ever needing to reload), large caliber weapons, with armor piercing rounds, together with anti-armor rockets or grenades, should have been the standard issue for all Earth troops at the individual, or at least squad level.
But of course, it wouldn't have been as exciting. :wht:

To add to what you said the ending was awful too because and not limited to the fact that

It was so faked and staged, as soon as they finish the toxin the female creature magically awakens from the drugs used to keep it alseep and then it calls for help and again magically thousands of those creatures swim hundreds of miles across the ocean and are instantly at that base of operations in less than a minute...Really? Sigh...

Because if you're looking for accuracy, science "fiction" isn't the category to choose. I mean why stop there....

There is no such thing as monsters; there is no such thing as time travel; there is no way any of them would have survived that fall when they first arrived.

And just for fun lets also agree that when Bruce Banner changes into the Hulk he should not still be wearing pants.

Superman defies every single rule that applies to us.

Don't even get me started on what Ellen Ripley accomplished by her toothpicked sized self.

It's just a movie. Sit back and enjoy, or don't. ;)

Yes it is the movie category to choose for accuracy because of the first word science fiction, I expect less accuracy from fantasy fictional movies, because of the word fantasy...

Superman is a comic book hero, more fantasy than science fiction...

I never understood why people picked movies apart like they do the Star Trek series and movies. But I was never a science kind of gal. I do understand what it feels like when a movie or TV series does not live up to my expectations. It took me years to get over the way they butchered GoT.

Aliens, the 2nd movie is still my all time favorite Science Fiction movie and I think it's because of Ellen Ripley and all that she was able to accomplish on her own. Even tho, I still think someone should offer her a sandwich, she is way too skinny.

Anyway, sorry it wasn't your cup of tea. We usually like the same movies, not always, but usually. xxxx6666
