Is this happening to America right now ?

You answered it yourself here, if the data cannot be acquired then one cannot simply grab something like a poll and call it fact...Polls and surveys are not facts, if the facts cannot be obtained then correct data is not obtained, simple...Stop listening to the propaganda of your party flavour, lately you seem to degenerate every discussion into how right the left is and how wrong the right is, when you cannot see that both sides are the same political machine...You fall into a trap they hope people will fall into in order to further divide the people and the country...Not everything in our society occurs because of some political ideology but that's the manipulation being pushed and its disgusting, I'm not affiliated with either side of this political mess and tire of it creeping into every aspect of our lives like it seems to be doing here again...

...
IMHO you are simply wrong...lets leave it at that. For some reason you are in denial.
You seem to be the biased one here imho.
(And again...you did not address the fact we used the same info site..KFF.)

Well, I need to quote you first.

...People are people and quite a mix and variety but still they are human beings, not disposable objects nor garbage to be tossed in the bin...

And you are correct in that they are not disposable objects. But their difference of opinion are not something that concerns me.

It is the more serious stuff.

Being human generally means that you behave in a normal considered manner.

So if we take the people who commit the atrocity in places like Afghanistan, or any other place. Or the killers who seem to be growing in number among us. Should they be considered 'human', or as the animals they more closely resemble ?

We can never have a properly working society as long as these 'humans' can do the things they do.

But there seems a reluctance to dispose of them even when they are eventually caught.

And yes, I do support the death penalty for killers.
This is actually a good topic to discuss...Resembling animals and being animals are of course two different things, but its my view that human beings must be treated as human beings no matter how they act...Even if we lock them up, it should be with respect and good treatment, even for the hardened criminals and killers...Yes I also support the death penalty for killers, I don't think its inhumane to take the life of someone who has indiscriminately killed their fellow man, in my opinion there is no issue in this world worth taking the life of another fellow human except as punishment for murdering others...

How we treat prisoners, killers, and the crazies of this world is more of a reflection of how we are and what state of being we are in more so than that of the prisoner, killer, or crazy person...

p.s. How do you enable the colour highlighting on this site ?
The third button from the left on the text editor in the posting window is colour, simply highlight the text of your writings and click that button and choose the colour you desire...

Many websites like that one provide factual information and also provide opinionated information, news sites do this all the time...In this particular case I posted some factual information from that website and you posted their opinionated information...

Again why are you being a smart ass and defensive on this?

Not trying to be and didn't think I was...This thread was devolving into another political, left vs right thing, and this topic isn't really about that...The mass psychosis that's been brewing has many sources which are stoking that fire, everything in our society is being mustered to divide people, politics, schooling, covid, for instance, but all of it being thrown into social media and television and movies...Its not one single thing like politics which is causing hysteria and imbalance in our country, its coming from multiple sources...

Do you guys think it is even possible for a centralist party to be formed in the USA ?

In the UK we have our two main parties, but also the Libdems (Liberal Democrats), greens etc, as well as the regional parties for Scotland and Wales; not forgetting the Irish parties.
And these parties can make a big difference when they throw their weight behind one or the other other the big two.

Well...you missed the stats chart if you read the link because it clearly listed data stats by counties , and breakdowns of vaccination results and links within that link showed the whole USA by counties .
-----------------
One of the main factors driving differences in COVID-19 vaccination rates across the country is partisanship. Our surveys consistently find that Democrats are much more likely to report having been vaccinated than Republicans, and Republicans are much more likely to say that they definitely do not want to get vaccinated.
We obtained data on the share of the population fully vaccinated by county from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s (CDC) COVID-19 Integrated County View and data on the 2020 Presidential election results by county from here (for more detailed methods, see: Vaccination is Local: COVID-19 Vaccination Rates Vary by County and Key Characteristics). To create a longer time series, we also looked at vaccination rates in April 2021.
While the share of the total population that is fully vaccinated has increased for both county groups, it has increased faster in counties that voted for Biden, resulting in a widening gap. Three months ago, as of April 22, the average vaccination rate in counties that voted for Trump was 20.6% compared to 22.8% in Biden counties, yielding a relatively small gap of 2.2 percentage points. By May 11, the gap had increased to 6.5% and by July 6, 11.7%, with the average vaccination rate in Trump counties at 35% compared to 46.7% in Biden counties. See Figures 1 and 2.

Figure 1: Vaccination rates in counties that voted for Biden and counties that voted for Trump, April – July 2021

Figure 2: The gap in vaccination rates between counties that voted for Biden and counties that voted for Trump, April – July 2021

My apologies if I didn't make that clear to begin with....and it probably belongs in the covid thread

There have been attempts but are usually seen as weakening one of the two parties.

Jesus H Christ could descend on a stairway of light to announce he's created one and will be running for office. It would take less than 5 minutes before the shitshow would begin from both sides.
