Maryland public schools push CRT on kids as young as five: Pupils taught there is dual epidemic of COVID and racism and teachers told to buy Ibram X. Kendi's controversial 'Antiracist Baby' book

Maryland's biggest county pushed a CRT-based 'psychoeducational lesson' on students as young as five years old that taught them of a 'dual pandemic of COVID-19 and systemic racism' - and ordered teachers to buy a book written by anti-racist activist Ibram X. Kendi.

Montgomery County Public Schools Associate Superintendent Janet S. Wilson sent an email to principals announcing: 'All schools will be required to implement a student psychoeducational lesson during one of the school's mandatory Social-Emotional Learning block before September 18, 2020.

'This lesson will provide students crisis facts about the dual pandemic (COVID-19 and systemic racism) that is occurring around the country and here in Montgomery County.' The email sent on August 26, 2020 and other documents obtained by Fox News show the critical race theory-based lesson that was required for all elementary and secondary school students.

In a video, the instructor coaches teachers to say: 'We are currently living through a dual pandemic with COVID-19 and the Systemic and Structural racism occurring worldwide.'

I am glad I grew up in the era I did. Both sets of my grandparents were peasant farmers who came from Eastern Europe. By the time myself and my cousins arrived, most had college educations and were doing well financial. How times have changed!!

The American left has waged a long war against the advancement of one religion over another in public school curricula, particularly in regard to the teaching of creationism and intelligent design, and has secured Supreme and lower court rulings that this practice is a violation of the Establishment Clause of the First Amendment. Their own religious teaching materials ought to be banned on similar grounds.

Yes, I agree. It's a case of the pot calling the kettle black. The ideology being taught in public schools today is in many ways no different from that which has been removed -- classroom prayer, acknowledging Christmas as a celebration of the birth of Jesus, etc.

We've come full circle from a time when liberals were the champions of free speech to a time when liberals have dictatorial power to determine what we are allowed to say in public. I think the pendulum may finally be swinging back towards the middle.

It is different, but it is of a similarly zealous character, and is also faith-based.

One of world's largest investment firms will need permission to hire white men

Leaders at one of the largest investment firms in the world, State Street Global Advisors, will need to ask permission to hire white men as it rolls out a diversity hiring initiative.

"This is now front and central for State Street — it’s on every senior executive’s scorecard," said Jess McNicholas, the bank’s head of inclusion, diversity and corporate citizenship in London, according to the Sunday Times.

"All of our leaders have to demonstrate at their annual appraisals what they have done to improve female representation and the number of colleagues from ethnic-minority backgrounds."

The company aims to triple the number of Black, Asian and other minority staff in senior positions by 2023, the Sunday Times reported. If executives don’t meet the target, they will face lowered bonuses.

Recruiters will now have to establish panels of four or five employees, including a woman and a person with a minority background, when hiring middle management staff.

The firm will still hire white men, McNicholas said, but recruiters are required to show that women and minority applicants were interviewed by the panels.

The company is pledging to "hold ourselves accountable for strengthening black and Latinx owned businesses."

California teacher's alleged quiz question trashes conservatives, school investigating

A California high school teacher appeared to criticize conservatives in a quiz question given to students last week, prompting outrage from parents and a school investigation, according to local reports.

The quiz question asked students in a social science class at Whitney High School in Rocklin, a city located about 20 miles from Sacramento, to identify "a group of complete idiots." The possible answers were given in a multiple-choice format as: "A) KKK; B) all of Florida; C) Fox news; D) Texans."

Parent Jessa Krissovich shared a screenshot of the question with FOX40 Sacramento, telling the station "it sounded unbelievable."

I was just looking through the 'old comics that didn't make it' thread and happen to notice a copy of Mickey Spillane's The Big Kill sitting on the shelf. Somewhere over there is I, the Jury. Got those when I was in high school about 1980.

Probably haven't read them since but remember some commentary that oh my would not go over today. Somebody remembers they exist we'll be burning them in piles out on the street.

CNN's April Ryan asks Pete Buttigieg to address the 'racism' built into our roadways

(Excerpt)

During the White House press briefing, Buttigieg was taking questions about the bipartisan infrastructure bill, which passed through Congress last week. Ryan took the opportunity to ask Buttigieg about the Biden administration's plans to "deconstruct the racism" that’s built into America's infrastructure.

"Also can you give us the construct of how you will deconstruct the racism that was built into roadways?" Ryan asked.

Ryan then referenced an earlier interview Buttigieg gave The Grio in April when he said "there is racism physically built into some of our highways."

Critics slam Bloomberg News for calling Winston Churchill 'racist,' questioning how he should be viewed today

Bloomberg News became the focus of intense criticism Monday following a tweet in which it referred to former British Prime Minister Winston Churchill as "racist," and questioned how he should be viewed through modern standards.

"Churchill helped lead the free world through war. He was also racist. How should we consider him today?" tweeted Bloomberg Opinion with a link to a piece written by columnist and historical author Max Hastings.

In contrast to the tweet, Hasting's piece sought to strike a balance between the "woke" campaigners calling for Churchill's statue in London's Parliament Square to be removed and those seeking to elevate his memory.

Hastings noted that, while Churchill expressed negative racial attitudes toward Indians and Africans at various points in his leadership, he also showed "compassion" in instances of life or death, such as after one 19th-century battle in Sudan in which 13,000 Africans were either killed or left to die on the battlefield following a British victory.

Arizona State University professor says traditional grading system is 'racist' and demands an end to 'white supremacy' by grading papers based on 'LABOR'

A professor at Arizona State University is arguing that the traditional grading system is 'racist' and is calling for an end to 'white language' by encouraging teachers to grade students based on the labor they put into their work instead of factors like spelling, grammar or quality.

Asao Inoue, a professor of rhetoric and composition, has given a series of lectures on the topic and most recently delivered one during a virtual event Friday, during which he argued that labor-based grading 'redistributes power in ways that allow for more diverse habits of language to circulate,' the College Fix first reported.

During his lecture, titled The Possibilities of Antiracist Writing Assessment Ecologies, Inoue said: 'White language supremacy in writing classrooms is due to the uneven and diverse linguistic legacies that everyone inherits, and the racialized white discourses that are used as standards, which give privilege to those students who embody those habits of white language already.'

In other words, Inoue urged teachers to focus on how much effort students put into their assignments and understanding the lesson rather than traditional spelling, grammar and punctuation grading norms.

Inoue refers to the common way most teachers and professors grade papers as a phrase he coined called 'Habits of White Language,' or 'HOWL.' Inoue said that HOWL and white supremacy culture '[make] up the culture and normal practices of our classrooms and disciplines.'

'Labor-based grading structurally changes everyone's relationship to dominant standards of English that come from elite, masculine, heteronormative, ableist, white racial groups of speakers,' Inoue said.

Let's see countries who adopt his standard compete with those that don't. He sounds like he's from Africa. Let's see how his country of origin fares by adopting such an imbecilic standard.

American Medical Association releases guide pushing CRT that slams 'meritocracy,' 'free market'

The American Medical Association recently released a guide on "Advancing Health Equity" that promotes how to fight for critical race theory, includes a list of words not to say and their "equity-focused alternatives," and criticizes concepts like "meritocracy," "individualism" and the "'free' market."

The 55-page document released on Oct. 28 cites a guide by the organization Race Forward for how to advocate for critical race theory (CRT), which is called "Guide to Counter-Narrating the Attacks on Critical Race Theory."

The health equity guide argues physicians cannot eliminate "health inequities" by "focus[ing] only on individuals, their behavior or their biology." It says they instead must focus on language and collective political circumstances of certain groups.

"Given the deep divides that exist between groups in the United States, understanding and empathy can be extremely challenging for many because of an inability to really ‘walk a mile in another’s shoes’ in a racialized sense," a preface to the American Medical Association (AMA) guide says. "Collectively, we have an opportunity and obligation to overcome these fissures and create spaces for understanding and healing."
