Sounding like an old-school, "sane" Democrat.

Remember when the Dems weren't mostly whacked out extremists? Maybe the older Bush days? As of Clinton, maybe half and half?

Clinton was the last Democrat I voted for President and Bush was the last Republican I voted for President, all my other ballot choices since have been Libertarian...

These days people think that if you dislike one party's president that you support the opposing party or that's what's immediately thought by many...Nothing could be further from the truth in most cases, people are fed up with both political parties...

Joe Biden's approval rating sinks to new low of 41% with SEVEN in ten Americans saying economy is in 'bad shape' as inflation soars: More than half say they'll back Republicans in midterms

Joe Biden's favorability has reached an all time low of his administration as just over four in 10 Americans say they feel the president is doing a good job in a new poll released Sunday. The ABC News/Washington Post poll shows Biden at 53 per cent disapproval and 41 per cent approval - down 11 points from the same poll in April. The swift slide comes amidst a series of failures mostly related to the economy, including a 31-year high inflation rate, continued high unemployment numbers and a supply chain crisis just in time for the holiday season.

It's sad. Biden is a veteran politician. If he had his wits about him, he wouldn't be screwing up nearly this bad.

Another thing to consider, many people had a shitty holiday season last year because of Covid and now anticipation of a better holiday this year is getting stymied by the supply shortages and inflation, both causing high prices and both getting worse by each passing day...

Way to go Brandon...

This is one of those roll-you-eyes-and-groan comments, but shouldn't the holidays mean a bit more than retail schlock?

If I hear 'but it's for the kids' one more time I'll scream. Yes - that increasingly enormous plastic pile of Halloween and Christmas decorations that are wooing and booing and hohohoing and blinking and all that crap are apparently what the holidays are all about.

All that garbage is made of plastic being imported from another country that doesn't give a shit about Santa or any of that. We pay lip service to climate change and cluck over electric cars, meanwhile they're running three shifts on coal burning plants to make all this nonsense - and don't think too much on exactly who is making what - so it can pile up in ports because we have a 'supply chain crisis' . To us a crisis means not getting the preferred brand of toilet paper. A supply chain crisis in Brazil say, that's something else.

Growing up my brother and I heard an awful lot about the Depression and WW2 and rationing. I seriously doubt we have the national will or character to deal with anything like that anymore.

Yes, there's a lot more to it than just retail purchases, everything across the board is more expensive and has been increasing in cost exponentially...Travel, utilities, food as well, all tied in to holiday activities, people traveling to see their relatives and feeding their guests and family members...The holidays coming is not like going to Disney world for a weekend, the extra expenses are before, after, and during the holidays, its across the board...

Biden and Kamala's relationship is in crisis as their poll ratings crash just one year in: Her staff feuds over why she is being sidelined with no-win migration task while President's team say they've given up on her already

Vice President Kamala Harris' increasing frustration and tension with President Joe Biden's inner circle has been laid bare in a new report. Harris and her top aides are frustrated with Biden for defending 'white man' Pete Buttigieg, the transportation secretary, more vigorously than her, and handing her 'no-win' issues like the border crisis, according to a CNN report citing interviews with dozens of current an former Harris aides and White House officials. At the same time, Biden's staff are said to be privately frustrated with Harris over controversies they view as self-inflicted, such as her 'awkward' laughter when asked about visiting the border.
