What do you guys do for a living/career?

I'm curious about what some of you guys do for a living, or any of your favorite hobbies. I posted a similar thread a long while back on AH, but I know there are also some new faces here that are unfamiliar to me. :)

I'm currently studying Computer Information Security, and have been teaching myself Python in my spare time when I don't have to study for my actual courses.. I also really love to go on hikes, draw, program(I do find it fun), read, and cook.

I actually have a pretty interesting story from about 5 years back I experienced while on a hike that I think I posted on AH, but I'm not quite sure. I'll get around to sharing it on here sometime soon :)

I work as a reference librarian. Doesn't pay much but I really like it, which is really important to me. When I'm not at work I enjoy fishing, hunting, working on cars, and trying to be a good dad and husband.

As long as you love what you do, you never work a day in your life ;)

Some days are harder than others and some patrons I wish would find something else to do with their lives. But I've never had a sincere desire to go anywhere else. In any event it would be difficult because I have an M.A. in History (which fits the specific subject matter I work with) and not an M.L.S., which most libraries want.

I suppose it's like that in any case, but if you've experienced it and still have no desire to flee the scene, I guess it shows your dedication, and that's very respectable in my opinion. How long have you worked there for, if you don't mind me asking?

Website creator/owner, and YouTube channel owner making money off ad revenue, a coin miner, and a pirate.

It ain't much, but it gets me by. Not like I'm qualified for anything else.

I've been at my current job for a bit more than four years now. When I retire, I will have been at this particular job for 21 years (previous job also counts towards it).

I'm a Graphic designer. i just stopped working as a full time Graphic designer few months ago. Not all Graphic designers are the same. In the working world, Graphic designers tends to learn and progress according to what the client/company wants, like for example in a manufacturing company, they would learn CAD, 3D and etc.. in a web design company they would learn web design, programming, advertisments and etc.. i was more into web design, advertising and etc.. I think after this i might take a job in the manufacturing or property developer company because its near to my home.

Now i'm only a estate agent and just in the stock market. I dont want to get a full time job now, Just want to be with my family for some time and help them out..

I like cooking, gardening, and talking.

Fading day by day.
I am stuck in the IT machine, been a techy for 10 years now, and travel across the state of Victoria.
My degree as a code cutter has not helped me much.
I don;t like my job much anymore, too much politics as it is semi government. But it pays good. So, I am stuck in the machine.
I would love to be able to paint and write stories and poetry for a living.
But that wont pay my bills.

I guess I'm in the opposite situation. I love my job but, if money was the only object, I could go work in a factory for 10-15k more a year if I needed to. I can't last in a job I don't like, although some people can.

At Peace.
At 16, I started writing programs for fun... just toying with a PC writing games in BASIC.

When I graduated High School. I had a certificate in Drafting and Design.
I also had a certificate in electronics.

My first job was drafting for Architectural drawings by hand for some years...

Second job was CAD for Machine drawings... for some years...

I attended college during this time and got two degrees in Computers with a minor in business and a sub minor in math.

Since then, I have been a Programmer for business applications.
25 years of that now, and cant imagine doing anything else... Love what I do.

Oh... and I write a little. :)

All of them...

I thought I could make the world better...

So I learned everything I could....

Then realized there are other things I can do to make the world better...

Now, There is hope...

Meanwhile, I keep my dayjob... Keeps me grounded... and affords me a normal life...

But the biggest difference I can make is Mission Blue
