So much for gratitude: The Harry Potter stars and Hollywood studio who owe their fortunes to JK Rowling's genius have turned on her. But like her refusal to be cowed by trans extremists, she's not taking their attempt to cancel her lying down

Author J.K. Rowling walked the red carpet with 'her' Harry - actor Daniel Radcliffe - and noticed that the 12-year-old was trembling. She put her arms around the youngster to try to reassure him that he was going to be all right. My, how the tables have turned. Rowling, 56, created the boy wizard and has ruled over every aspect of his fictional life, not to mention his financial exploitation in films, on stage and in theme parks. The total worth of the Harry Potter empire today is estimated to be $230 billion. But she has now been repudiated by Radcliffe and the other young actors whom she turned into rich-beyond-dreams stars - all for daring to challenge the hard-line dogma of trans activists who insist biological sex does not exist.

‘Spider-Man’ becomes first pandemic-era film to surpass $1 billion globally

“Spider-Man: No Way Home” became the first pandemic-era movie to eclipse $1 billion in global box office sales with another strong showing over Christmas weekend. The Sony and Marvel flick pulled in an estimated $81.5 million over the three-day weekend – ahead of Universal’s “Sing 2” and Warner Bros.′ “The Matrix Resurrections”, which in the same period netted $23.8 million and 12 million, respectively.

In just 12 days, “Spider-Man” grossed $467 million from North American theaters, and $587.1 million in overseas markets – for a total of $1.05 billion globally.

.

"The Matrix: Resurrection" is on the verge of financial failure

The fourth part of the cult film franchise “The Matrix” was on the verge of failure at the worldwide box office. Lana Wachowski's fantastic action movie started at the national box office only from the third position, which is tantamount to failure for such a high-profile project. During the premiere days, the film earned only $ 22.5 million in North America.

The box office box office of Matrix-4 amounted to $ 69.8 million.

In the payback of the film Warner Bros. the video service HBO Max and the Chinese film market, where The Matrix Resurrection will be released on January 14, 2022.

Spider-Man: No Way Home Flies Into the All-Time Top 10 at Domestic Box Office

Less than a month after hitting theaters — and despite the pandemic damper on the moviegoing market — the sequel, starring Tom Holland and Zendaya, has become one of the top 10 highest grossing films of all time at the domestic box office, surpassing an estimated $609 million and counting, according to Box Office Mojo.

Its North American haul bested the 2018 animated film Incredibles 2 to take the No. 10 spot. Currently, No. 9 is Star Wars: Episode VIII - The Last Jedi from 2017 with $620,181,382.

Globally, Spider-Man: No Way Home sits at the twelfth-place spot and climbing. The Marvel/Sony film also became the first movie in the pandemic era to reach $1 billion worldwide.

After a massive opening weekend last month, Holland, 25, thanked fans on Instagram, writing, "Wow guys I can't believe these numbers. You made this possible. Your love and support means the world to me."

Spider-Man: No Way Home Surpasses Titanic In Fourth Weekend Atop the Box Office

Spider-Man: No Way Home has officially topped the box office for a whole month. Additionally, it is now the sixth-highest grossing film ever at the domestic box office, surpassing Titanic. 'What a disgrace, the show must go on': Adele's furious fans don't go easy on her after paying up to $30,000 a seat for her Vegas residency as singer cancels concert 24 HOURS before first show at Caesars Palace

Adele on Thursday shocked and angered her fans by canceling her Caesar's Palace Las Vegas residency at the last minute, leaving many stranded in the city out of pocket, and unsure whether they can afford the time and money to see her rescheduled show. Fans of the 33-year-old singer had shelled out up to $30,000 for resale tickets for the eagerly-anticipated show - her first live concert in five years. In a video posted to Twitter, Adele sobbed as she said that COVID-19 cases among members of her crew had made it impossible to bring the show to life in time. Adding to her woes were delivery delays that made it 'impossible to finish the show.' She added that she had been awake for 'over 30 hours' trying to solve logistical issues but had simply 'run out of time' to be ready on Friday. Many were sympathetic, but plenty were frustrated. 'This breaks my heart, for you and for me,' tweeted Amy Campbell, a medical professional in Tulsa, Oklahoma. 'I know how hard it is to put on a show, especially with a pandemic. 'But it's also hard to save enough money, to get time off work from a hospital, that is short staffed, book a flight and hotel, fly in two days early and find out 30 hrs before the show, when we are already here, that the reason we came for is not going to happen. 'The people with first weekend show tickets may not be able to afford the time or money to reschedule something like this.'

Well, it not like she cancelled because she had a hangover or something. You want to blame someone, blame governments for carrying this on for so long that everything everywhere is delayed somehow.

As for hospitals.... Give me a break, Amy Campbell. We all know that the health care system, everywhere, has been this fucked up for decades. Somebody tweet that for me, please.

She's to blame for a 24 hour cancelation notice, and with the extremely high prices people paid for tickets she should have hired replacement crew for the sick and better planning for the materials needed for the show...She's raking in boatloads of money, she could do more than cancel shows and sit there and cry about it...IMO

I was a little shocked by that myself. Why would someone pay $30,000 for a concert ticket?
