Nothing like using a page out of the North Koreans playbook

I think the North Korean military/government are crazy enough to fire off nukes if backed into a corner...To me it's insane to even stockpile nuclear weapons, but I don't think that genie can be put back into the bottle...Its a fact of life...

I think that N.K. is all bluffing. OK, they can fire off one nuke, and then what? They'll be obliterated. They just have China protecting their back and thus keeping N.K. on a leash. Question is more weather China will let N.K. to fire nuke? For which answer is simple and square "Hell, NO!", not even in a proxy war. China just wants to make money and overtake US and they will not let anything interrupt that. And, give it 20-30 uninterrupted years, China will overtake US with cast iron certainty.

NK's nuclear programs are 'attention seeking behavior' probably intended more for internal consumption than anything else. They've been on about that for years. They'd be better off putting those resources into actual FOOD for internal consumption. Kind of strange they're shooting off ICBMs from their only international airport, especially considering the number of failures they've had. I do wonder if we've had anything to do with those or not.

whether China will let N.K. to fire nuke? For which answer is simple and square "Hell, NO!
Agreed. They'll remain a source of coal, raw materials, hard currency and porno for the little round bastard and that's likely best.

Hard to sift through all the propaganda to know what is really going on in Ukraine but it does seem as the Russian military was not what it had been advertised to be and all the nuke talk is salve for that wound. It's also a tedious reminder that NATO can't intervene in a conventional fashion, because if they did the conflict would be over in short order. Makes me wonder about the rest of their forces - their nuclear forces. Only takes one to work to make for a bad day but I also can't help but wonder about their real condition of readiness. From the (questionable) reports of near mutiny I've read I'd also wonder about the willingness of those responsible to actually follow out an order to fire one off.

While I'm making a list of things I wonder about, how about whatever is still aboard that old heavy cruiser that got sunk?

Watching Pelosi & Co over there made me want to vomit. What an embarrassment. I'd say that about DT too.

You think a conversation similar to this has taken place in the Pentagon?

:) :) :)

Agreed 100%. Little Fatman is just doing dirty work, hacking, drug smuggling, spying and such.

"we can clean their chronometers"

I love that phrase.

Thing with nukes, they are eventually going to become obsolete. I mean the means of their delivery.

The way things are going Ukraine is not signing any peace treaties, so US will sooner or later be free to put hyper-sonic missiles into Ukraine, weather Russians like it or not. Russia bled its military so much in this war, and even more they are now in the full know their military is not up to scratch. As it never was.

And China is just sitting on the fence and waiting to pounce on Russia. Both China lay claims on waste regions around far east Kamchatka peninsula, which Russia took from them back in 19th century.

All the rhetoric from Russia about nukes, even from their television stations, it almost seems at some point Putin will detonate a nuke in Ukrainian territory...

Yes, but I've read on CNN yesterday, that low was passed in US that if Russia uses nukes then US will send troupes into Ukraine.

Vladimir Putin to undergo cancer surgery, transfer power

By Snejana Farberov and Evan Simko-Bednarski May 2, 2022 10:19am

Russian President Vladimir Putin is set to undergo cancer surgery and temporarily hand over power to a hardline former federal police chief, according to a new report.

Putin will transfer control of Russia’s government to Nikolai Patrushev, head of the Russian federal police’s Security Council, while he is incapacitated during and after the procedure, according to a video from the mysterious Telegram channel “General SVR” on Saturday.

The channel — which is purportedly run by a former Russian Foreign Intelligence Service lieutenant general known by the pseudonym “Viktor Mikhailovich” — reported that Putin has been told by doctors that he must undergo an operation.

The anticipated surgery and recovery are expected to incapacitate Putin for “a short time,” according to the unconfirmed report.

“Putin is unlikely to agree to hand over power for a longer period of time,” the narrator of the video states, adding that the control of the country will likely be in Patrushev’s hands for no more than two to three days.

“I will say that this is the worst option,” the narrator adds. “Patrushev is an outright villain. He is no better than Vladimir Putin. Moreover, he is a more cunning, and I would say, more insidious person than Vladimir Putin. If he comes to power, Russians’ problems will only multiply.”

“Viktor Mikhailovich” ominously hinted that he and his allies “will make certain efforts so this does not happen, and I hope we will succeed.”

Asked about the report Monday, Pentagon spokesman John Kirby said it could not be confirmed.

“I have seen nothing that could help us corroborate that,” he said.

The video follows reporting from Russian investigative outlet The Project, which — in a sizeable report on the strongman’s vigor — claimed he has been seen by a cancer doctor 35 times in recent years. Putin has become so paranoid about his health, the outlet claimed, he has even turned to unconventional, and barbaric, therapies.

Putin is said to bathe in the blood extracted from deer antlers, which are hacked off while they are growing and still full of fresh blood, the outlet said. The sickening “antler baths” are an alternative therapy in the Altai region of Russia, which borders Khazakstan and Mongolia.

Believers say the baths improve the cardiovascular system and rejuvenate the skin, The Project explained.

Who is Nikolai Patrushev, Russian reportedly in charge during Putin’s cancer recovery?

The report also suggests the Russian president secretly underwent surgery last autumn.

“In medical circles, it is believed that the president was undergoing a complicated procedure related to some kind of thyroid disease during this period.”

Saturday’s video claimed that Putin’s cancer is progressing, but the narrator darkly quipped that he doesn’t want to give viewers “false hope.”

Putin, 70, whose sickly appearance and uncharacteristically fidgety behavior in public have recently raised questions about his health, has been rumored to suffer from cancer and a host of other serious maladies, including Parkinson’s disease.

Putin’s suspected health problems come at a particularly inopportune moment, with the war in Ukraine now in its fourth month and Russia suffering heavy losses on the battlefield.

In a Telegram post that appeared Thursday, it was alleged that Patrushev had had a two-hour “heart-to-heart” conversation with Putin.

“We know that Putin signaled to Patrushev that he considers him to be practically his only trusted ally and friend in the government,” the post claimed. “Additionally, the president promised that if his health takes a turn for the worse, actual control of the country will temporarily pass into Patrushev’s hands.”

In early April, the authors behind the Telegram channel claimed that Putin’s doctors had recommended surgery for later that month, but that did not happen.

“General SVR” has been reporting on Putin’s supposed oncology diagnosis since at least November 2020, claiming that the Russian dictator suffers from bowel cancer.

New questions were raised about Putin’s physical state last month when he was seen tightly gripping a desk during his meeting with Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu.

The Kremlin has consistently denied that Putin suffers from any medical problems.

So, is Vlad really sick? Who the hell knows. I'm sick of him, for sure.

Just to speculate, maybe he thought he was leaving some useful legacy to his country by seizing Ukraine. His judgement was - to put it mildly - a bit off on that one.

That Putin's guy is a pushover. You can see that from his stance. Same as Biden. Putin would only surround himself with people he can control.

Isn’t Vlad a black belt of some kind? That’s why he has a bromance with Steven Segal.

When one is a leader of the most powerful country in the modern world, then he doesn't need to verbalise his opinions. He just makes a statement and leaves it to the listener. Hundreds, if not thousands, of people in the position of authority use that technique. Trump and Putin certainly use that method on a daily basis. Yet, Biden has to bitch about this and that, like he's some kind of housewife.

I saw a video of a demonstration Segal gave some years ago. Great defensive skill assuming attackers come one at a time in the same way. Heard a comment from Rhonda Rousey - said she could stomp Segal easily. I don’t doubt it

I don't believe that Seagal has any practical fighting experience, so his 'techniques' are untested, but would probably fail against actual attackers. His martial art, aikido, is not practised by any professional MMA fighters, I don't believe, which it likely would be, if it worked.

Nope, nada, not one bit, even Jackie Chan would roundly defeat Seagal without breaking a sweat...Jackie Chan could beat him using his legendary Drunken Boxing technique...

Jackie Chan is like the Hong Kong version of Steven Seagal. They are of a similar age, both have a history of making martial arts movies, and both like to lend their support to authoritarian regimes in their old age:

Yes it looks like we will likely join NATO soon. And it will not be our people who make this decision, but our parliament, however it is supported by the majority of finns, as was shown. Russia's attack on Ukraine was pretty much the last straw. We will not stand by anymore and wait for our turn quietly observing. As long as countries remain Dictatorships, they cannot be trusted, and we live next to one.

On the other hand, Russia's capability to mount offensive military actions has been severely depleted by its disastrous invasion of Ukraine. Leaving nuclear weapons as the only thing that it can use to threaten, which NATO cannot do much about.
