After a relatively beg free 2019-2020 we have a 11 beg letter 2021. Most coming after Randall left. One wonders if the begging had anything to do with Randall moving on. Or if they had an agreement not to beg and Gene violated that agreement. it is only speculation but it seems odd

Lotta stuff seems odd. The whole medical drama might be fiction. I wouldn't bet against it. Barbara seems to phase into existence just long enough for expensive medical treatment, then vanish again. He's living in an apartment? Paying rent? Whatever became of poor Teddy Bear? So many questions...

Dear Bob Watson,

I hope you all had a great holiday, and that you were able to escape the worst of our endless pandemic.

I thought the aborted attempt to do an Ablation on my heart to address my arrythmia (PVC) would be the end of the worst of it. Well except for that upcoming leg procedure.

But things have changed.

So the process of managing the catheter procedure left me with a hematoma in my right leg, thus resulting in swelling. The cardiologist and my primary care doctor both suggested it should heal over the next few weeks.

But after 10 days, during which time the condition became no better, I visited the second cardiologist, the one who installed the stent, for a follow-up. He checked my leg and ordered an ultrasound test to evaluate what he suspected. It revealed a blood clot, and the doctor said I should consider entering the hospital right away to endure an IV-based blood thinner and the usual extended recovery at home.

At this point, after two hospital visits — during which time I left with mild colds (but evidently not COVID) — I protested. So he recommended a powerful blood thinner added to my current drug cocktail would most probably deal with the problem. He said I should expect the swelling to abate over the next few weeks, and that I should take the extra drug for a total of six months.

He will examine me monthly to make sure I’m healing properly. Meantime, the first cardiologist will be seeing me to set up a portable heart rhythm monitor to make sure the drug he gave me for arrhythmia is doing its job.

As you can see from my attitude about the whole thing, I am getting sick and tired of the doctor visits, the treatments and the medications with endless side effects. I have no doubt that the treatments are appropriate for my various conditions.

But before I visited the first cardiologist for arrhythmia, I had no symptoms of anything wrong. I have none now, except for the moderate stiffness in my swollen right leg.

If this requires any further attention beyond medication, I will definitely be seeking another opinion.

In the meantime, Barbara continues to recover from the corneal transplant in her left eye. Her vision is recovering more slowly than she expected after the surgery on her right eye, but it is improving. She will be visiting the eye surgeon soon to check her progress.

And I continue to struggle with the extra copays for treatment and drugs and higher prices for other things, including our recent server upgrade, auto insurance and rent

If you able to provide a little financial help, as always I appreciate your donations, whatever you can send. And I know it’s not easy.

The sad part about Steinberg is that he is in his 70s and he did not save a dime for old age retirement. He has taken to grifting in order to survive. I know it is questionable about just how much money he has. He never mentions that he and his wife receive Social Security money each month.

He basically has no shame. I could never imagine myself going online and begging people to send me money. He obviously has no desire to support himself by actually holding a job.

The Paracast was mentioned on Coast to Coast AM last night. Tim Swartz was introduced as one of its occasional co-hosts.

I skipped through a bit of the last one with Curt Collins and Kevin Randle. I like the intro theme, like and old companion.

It didn't take too much Gene to remind me why I don't listen to that show anymore. Podcasts have changed and that's like revisiting the playground I used as a kid .....

I will say this - the old *****r has staying power. A lot of other things too that don't bear close examination but he's still plugging away. Point for that.

Dear Friend,

I hope things are well without despite the worldwide turmoil. I have readers and listeners in Ukraine and I pray for their safety.

I am still recovering from the hematoma in my right leg, which I suffered as a result of a failed attempt at doing an ablation procedure on my heart.

I continue to take two potent blood thinners: generic plavix and eliquis, the latter a costly drug not yet available in generic form. I have to take the former for a year; the latter for six months. In addition, I was prescribed pacerone, designed to deal with my irregular heartbeat.

This past week, I had yet another echocardiogram, a regular EKG and I was fitted with a ZioXT heart rhythm monitor. The hope is that things will improve enough not to require any further treatment other than the pacerone.

In March, the cardiologist who installed the stent in my heart last November wants to do an angioplasty of my legs to look for further signs of blockage. But the procedure has not yet been scheduled.

Right now, other than the stiffness in my right leg, I feel all right despite all the potential complications.

As I wrote a few weeks back, if this requires any further attention beyond medication and that leg procedure, I will definitely seek outside opinions.

On the other hand, at age 76, I suppose I’m doing reasonably well.

Barbara continues to recover from her corneal transplants.

And I continue to struggle with the extra copays for treatment and drugs and higher prices for other things, including gas, groceries, auto insurance and rent.

If you able to provide a little financial help, as always I appreciate your donations, whatever you can send. And I know it’s not easy.

Dear Friend,

I know we live in a difficult world, with war in the Ukraine, recovering from the pandemic and other problems.

So focusing these messages on my personal troubles may be going too far. I’ve been told that.

But if you’ve been following my heart odyssey over the past few months, here’s the update:

After taking eliquis for three months now, the swelling in my right leg is much better. But it’s still there. I have to take the medication for another three months unless the condition persists.

The cardiologist who conducted an echocardiogram and set me up with a ZioXT heart rhythm monitor told me that my heart’s ejection fraction, a measure of efficiency, is improved and they’re going to monitor the situation. If the condition gets worse again, I may require a pacemaker, unless another medical solution can be found.

The other cardiologist has not yet scheduled the angioplasty on my legs, so maybe I can avoid that. I don’t want to have any more surgical procedures for now unless it’s absolutely necessary.

For now, my right leg still feels stuff. I also have chronic back pain, a condition I’ve had for several years, which does restrict long walks or jogging. I climb stairs very carefully.

As you know, rising gas and food prices have become almost unbearable. Add to that the remaining hospital and doctor copays that I have to cover, and the price of medications, and it’s a juggling match that I keep losing.

Barbara continues to do well recovering from her corneal transplants, but has to take a CT scan for another medical issue that I hope and pray isn’t going to be serious.

If you able to provide a little financial help, as always I appreciate your donations, whatever you can send. And I know it’s not easy.

Dear Friend,

The last six weeks have been frantic, although my heart condition has not grown any worse.

I had been scheduled to take a leg angioplasty to check for blockage in March, but it was postponed by the doctor due to staffing issues. That he did not push to have it done in a hospital appears to indicate it’s not very serious, but there’s obviously still a problem. I haven’t fully recovered from the hematoma suffered on my right leg after a failed ablation procedure in December. The main symptom is a slight feeling of numbness on the left side of the leg.

So the angioplasty is now set for the morning of May 26th.

I will be taking one of the powerful blood thinners prescribed for me, Eliquis, until July. I can discontinue the other, Plavix, in November.

I will be visiting the other cardiologist, the one handling the atrial fibrillation issues, in June. I continue to take pills to control heartbeat. But if it stops working, there is the danger that I might need a pacemaker.

And that’s what happened to my oldest nephew, whose heart issues couldn’t be resolved otherwise. And he’s 11 years younger than me.

Meantime, Barbara is scheduled for a minor laser procedure on her left eye to improve vision. She also has digestive issues under treatment by a gastroenterologist.

As for me, other than the issues with my right leg, which remains stuff, I also have chronic back pain, a condition from which I’ve suffered for several years, which does restrict long walks or jogging. I climb stairs very carefully.

As you know, rising gas and food prices have become almost unbearable. Add to that the remaining hospital and doctor copays that I have to cover, and the price of medications, and it’s a juggling match that I keep losing.

I been out of the Gene world for a while now.
His latest beg letter contains this:
"On the business end, some of you may have noticed occasional slowdowns on the site when you attempt to download an episode of The Paracast, or just check out show schedules and the forum.

That’s because our web server is getting lots of traffic, which is good. But it’s sometimes more than it can handle. Our recent server upgrade was not enough.

So I will need a better server, which means an expenditure of approximately $200-250 a month and a long-term commitment.

That may seem high with all those $10 offers from web hosts promising unlimited everything. But those offers are like the ones from U.S. wireless carriers. If you exceed their unstated limits, they cut performance, force you to upgrade to a costly plan, or just cut you off completely. Those plans — which put lots of accounts on one server — are only good for small sites"

This from Genes latest beg letter.. I'm not sure how much is true or the ins and outs of website ownership. I may ask my daughter when I call her next she is studying computer science.

So more people than ever are listening to the Paracast? How likely is that statement true? lol

Since my last post Gene has blasted out at least 4 beg letters.. but I did not share them.
See no one is talking about gene anymore. SGSC Jack and others have moved on from the grift. I saw I was the only one to give him any kind of attention. So for the most part I moved on as well. Gene may or may not have health issues. And I really have a lot on my plate. So if Gene blast out an untruth or he escalates the begging I will be there to call his actions to account.but I have better things to do.
Lastly if Gene was that sick how is it he never missed an episode of his show?
What happened to his wife and dog?
And I think that Randall's departure has a lot to do with the return of the grift.

Turns out some time ago Gene was begging through his technology sites too.

Why does he do this ? To paraphrase Andrew Dice Clay, ‘cause he’s a scorpion, you dick …..
