Ghost Hunts Over the Years

I have seen quite a few places cleansed of activity. Such was never my area of interest. The places I have went were to document activity, find an explanation if there was one and to investigate how the unexplainable exists. My interest has always been in the underlying physics or meta-physics of the unseen dimensions. I leave the cleansing to others. But I do believe that evil is as real in the other dimensions as it is in the world of the living.

You see the back part of this large home was being rented to college students. They had trouble keeping them due to the haunting activity.

The kids at Gettysburg College usually just have their parties and tell people that its just their ghost when people ask if some ones younger brother is in the back room.....(the original part of the house).

Lol
I would be lying if I said the paranormal doesn't scare me. After all, a ghost hunt that doesn't give you goosebumps wouldn't be much fun at all. However, I have found that there is a difference between fear and courage. I would like to think that I would be courageous in the face of my fear.

Aliens or thought of them rather has never scared me...but then I have never been confronted by such a situation. I admit that Fire in the Sky and The Fourth Kind left me unsettled. Both disturbed me on a deep level.

The only ET movie that worries me is The Day the Earth Stood Still......when they come to save the earth from us.

So you wouldn't want to join me camping over night on a haunted battlefield?
Ummmm Let me think.....for 1 nanosecond
That would be resounding NO :)
If I could be 100% sure that one of the rotten things wouldn't get inside my head an follow me home. I could possible do it.
But I would be looking for shadows at home for the rest of my life if I got involved in that stuff.

When my kids were little if we drove past a cemetery they would be saying to each other. Quick close your mouth and block your nose so the ghosts don't get in. Me of course being the responsible father would have to tell them they were being really silly there is no such things as ghosts. But my voice always sounded funny because I would have my nose and mouth closed to so the ghosts wouldn't get in too.

Gotcha.....I've not been followed home.....unless they became my guardian spirits.

I remember doing an all night guard duty at a remote part of a haunted battlefield. One of the guys walking a post was spooked at where we were. At one point he said he felt like we were being watched.....I said we were....buy a raccoon on the tree line. I then told him the ghosts are there protecting our arses.

I walk around a lot of old cemeteries mostly by myself and I've only been spooked at one....and that was one with only numbers at a local sanitarium.

I was one of the investigators present at this ghost hunt at the old courthouse in Lexington, KY. We didn't find anything except for one evp in a room that was open to the public as an exhibit of early Lexington life. But the investigation was well worth the time. I grew up with this building as a landmark looming in the backdrop of my childhood. As a child, the building fascinated me with its imposing size and architecture.

We had the run of the entire building..areas the public are never allowed to go...from the basement where prisoners would be brought in via tunnels to the dome which had once been an open veranda where early Kentucky statesman would talk politics over brandies and cigars. Many rooms were stacked, floor to ceiling, with relics from Kentucky'scourt.jpg past. It was cool to handle items that were normally kept locked away or enclosed in glass cases. The street that runs alongside the courthouse is called Cheapside. It wasn't until this investigation that I learned it was so named because this side of the courthouse was were the slaves deemed 'inferior stock' were auctioned off. Some things they don't teach in heritage class.

Joe Patterson here was my mentor in the field. He no longer investigates but we still maintain contact. His mentor was demonologist John Zaffis of the Haunted Collector on Syfy. Zaffis is well known in the paranormal circle with his expertise having been sought by Unsolved Mysteries, A Haunting, Ghost Hunters, etc. His mentors were Ed and Lorraine Warren.

Model Mill, Georgetown, KY

Its unfortunate that I can't locate a lot of my files from 'way back'. This is a stock photo of Model Mills. The one below it the sole surviving photo from that investigation. It is a close up of the trees directly behind the mill. It is very degraded as photos will do when they are downloaded/uploaded many times. Originally, the hooded monk was much more defined. As I recall, we did get a lot of evps that night. mill-georgetown-kentucky-old-abandoned-91571205.jpg 46325_1578380586157_4846641_n.jpg

Another one I can't find my file on. There are trails near the cemetery we walked that night. I didn't find anything but I did learn that if you smell cucumbers while walking the woods...slowly back away as you are likely near a rattlesnake den! CEM46993179_124388119963.jpg

The worst thing about this hunt was that we were standing next to the mausoleum at around 2 am and its gassed out. The stench of decay was horrible. Even when I got in my car, I could still smell it and felt it clung to my skin. 258s.jpg

Interesting.
That could mean trouble if one grows cucumbers in rattlesnake country.
